Atalanta have made their stance on Ederson’s future known amid Manchester United’s interest in the midfielder.

In November, The Peoples Person discussed a report from Sky Sports Germany claiming that Man United were interested in making a move for the Brazilian in the January transfer market.

Near the end of last month, Fabrizio Romano confirmed United’s interest in Ederson, claiming that he is an ideal fit for manager Ruben Amorim’s system.

Just when it appeared as if United were on course to luring Ederson to Old Trafford, it was reported that Manchester City were set to compete for his signature, putting a cog in the works.

Still, even with City circling, it may not be wise for United to pull out all the stops to sign Ederson given a fresh update out of Italy.

Today, TEAMtalk confirmed Atalanta’s stance on Ederson’s transfer, at least if their sources are correct.

“Manchester United have suffered a blow in their pursuit of defensive midfielder Ederson, with Atalanta taking a strong stance on selling him in the January transfer window amid rival interest from Liverpool and Manchester City,” the report read.

“TEAMtalk understands that Man Utd have expressed concrete interest in Ederson. Sources have also indicated Liverpool‘s interest in the Brazilian star. Although Arne Slot’s side are less actively engaged, they have asked for updates on Ederson’s availability.”

“However, like City and Liverpool, Man Utd are facing an uphill battle to get a deal done for the 25-year-old. TEAMtalk has been told that Atalanta have made it unequivocally clear that Ederson will not leave the club during the January transfer window.”

“Sources have told us that Ederson is excited about the prospect of playing in the Premier League, but Atalanta will only evaluate offers for him in the summer of 2025. The Serie A outfit have also set a price-tag of €58-60 million,” the report concluded.

Given this latest update, it appears as if United’s prospects of securing Ederson as a midfield asset in the near-term seem to be dashed.

Still, it may be worth Amorim’s time to focus signing Ederson during the summer.

The Brazilian has proven to be a force to be reckoned with in the heart of Atalanta’s midfield, completing 87% of his passes and 63% of his long balls per game. He has won 52% of his ground duels in Serie A as well as 65% of his aerial challenges. (Sofascore)

Given his physicality, passing ability, and relative affordability, not to mention being 25 years of age, Ederson could prove to be a viable long-term solution to United’s midfield issues should Amorim take a chance on the Brazilian.

“The player is packing his bags”: United star set to leave Old Trafford imminently with his sale “practically closed” – report

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is reportedly on the brink of parting ways with the club, with his transfer to Al-Nassr about to go through.

Casemiro enjoyed an outstanding first season at United after joining from La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid in the summer of 2022.

However, his performances dramatically declined last season and he has struggled again during the ongoing 2024/25 campaign.

The Brazilian has made 22 club appearances this term, scoring three times, but he was an unused substitute against Liverpool on Sunday after struggling as a starter in the previous match vs. Newcastle.

He has been heavily linked to Al-Nassr over the past few days and a report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the Saudi Pro League outfit have offered him a £650,000-a-week contract. It was subsequently claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo is keen on a reunion with his former Real Madrid and Old Trafford teammate.

More recently, it emerged that Al-Nassr chiefs were pushing to get a deal over the line as soon as possible and it seems that a breakthrough has been found

According to Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade via news outlet UOL, “Ronaldo has made the signing of the Brazilian midfielder a condition for continuing at Al Nassr.”

“The player is packing his bags to leave the English Championship and the Sovereign Fund has already closed the contract.”

Andrade further stated, “Casemiro is a player who is very close to leaving Manchester United. The Saudi Arabian Sovereign Fund, which manages the country’s main clubs, has practically closed the deal.”

It remains to be seen what fee United will receive from parting ways with Casemiro, although a sum of €30m has been suggested.

Casemiro’s exit would give United a bit more financial breathing room in their bid to bolster the squad for Amorim.

The Red Devils are back in action on Sunday when they take on Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup.

Former PL midfield ace “proposed” to United as part of sensational swap deal – report

Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz has reportedly been offered to Manchester United as part of a deal that would see Joshua Zirkzee seal a switch to the Turin-based outfit.

Zirkzee is believed to be a key attacking target for Juventus this month. The Serie A giants want to sign him on loan with an option to buy but United are only open to either a permanent sale or a loan with an obligation to purchase him at the end of the ongoing campaign.

However, it’s understood that Zirkzee does not want to leave United and is keen to fight for his place under Ruben Amorim.

Indeed, Amorim recently stated that he wants to keep the Netherlands international although he refused to completely rule out an exit.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United players are also eager for Zirkzee to stay and prove his mettle in England.

According to Italian journalist, Ciro Venerato, former Aston Villa and Manchester City star Douglas Luiz has been “proposed” to United in an effort to get a deal for Zirkzee over the line.

Venerato spoke to Rai Sports [via Tutto Juve] and shared, “The first name for Juventus’ attack is Joshua Zikzee, whose agent Kia Joorabchan, is the same as Douglas Luiz who was proposed to Manchester United in the deal that could bring the Dutchman to Turin.”

“In fact, the Brazilian midfielder has been proposed to various Premier League clubs but Juventus is not convinced because it would mean making a significant capital loss.”

Luiz has only been at Juventus for a matter of months, having joined them in the summer from Villa in a deal worth around £43million.

He has struggled to have an impact under Thiago Motta.

So far this term, Luiz has only made nine top-flight appearances. He has yet to register a goal or an assist for Juventus.

Following their thrilling 2-2 draw with Liverpool last weekend, United return to action on Sunday when they take on Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup.

Marcus Rashford: Man Utd’s two transfer conditions surface as ‘agent flies’ to meet Euro giants

According to reports, Marcus Rashford has moved closer to leaving Manchester United as his agent has ‘flown’ to meet Serie A giants AC Milan.

Last month, Rashford clarified that he is “ready” to leave Man Utd as he feels it’s time for a new challenge away from Old Trafford.

The England international has been heavily criticised for his poor performances and attitude for Man Utd as his form has drastically declined since he scored 30 goals during the 2022/23 campaign.

Rashford is linked with several European sides since the January transfer window opened and Fabrizio Romano has picked out three clubs as potential destinations.

Romano said: ‘Movements around Marcus Rashford have started as expected,’ he wrote. ‘Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan have both asked for conditions of the deal.

‘More contacts are planned, meanwhile, Galatasaray also approached Rashford this week but he’s prioritising other options in top 5 leagues now.’

READ: Six Man Utd certainties under Amorim after Liverpool include three exits, key quartet, £45m transfer

On Tuesday evening, a report from The Athletic revealed that Rashford’s agent- also his brother – travelled to meet with AC Milan’s representatives.

‘Marcus Rashford’s representatives have held exploratory talks with AC Milan about loaning the Manchester United forward in the January transfer window.

‘Dwaine Maynard, Rashford’s brother and agent, flew to Milan on Tuesday to hold discussions with recruitment staff at the Serie A side.’

‘Talks remain at a preliminary stage as Milan’s senior executive team were returning from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where the team fought back from 2-0 down to beat rivals Inter 3-2 in the Italian Super Cup.

‘Rashford’s salary, worth more than £325,000 a week, would also have to be heavily subsidised for a loan deal to appeal to Milan.’

The Daily Mail also say AC Milan are considering a loan deal, while Man Utd have have set two transfer conditions.

It’s noted that they are open to a loan, but an ‘obligation to buy’ clause must be included and they have also set their asking price.

‘AC Milan are weighing up a loan approach for Marcus Rashford.

‘The striker, who has been out of favour under Ruben Amorim and missed the midweek defeat to Newcastle through illness, is ready for a new challenge and is available this month.

‘United ideally want to sell for £40million and that figure plus his wages of over £325,000-a-week are the major stumbling block.

‘United will consider loans with obligation to buy offers and a number of clubs have expressed interest.

Official: United recall talented academy marksman from his loan spell after just five months

Manchester United have confirmed that Joe Hugill has been recalled from his loan spell at Wigan Athletic.

Wigan have also relayed news of Hugill’s return to Old Trafford.

A club statement from Shaun Maloney’s side reads, “We can confirm that striker Joe Hugill has returned to Manchester United from his loan spell at Wigan Athletic.”

“The 21-year-old leaves the Brick Community Stadium having made 18 appearances across all competitions. The highlight of his loan spell came back in September when he netted a brace in the 4-0 victory at Bristol Rovers.”

“The Club would like to thank Joe for his contributions during his time with Latics and wish him well for the future.”

Hugill joined Wigan on a season-long loan arrangement in July. He scored five goals for the side and now has a total of 43 senior appearances to his name.

The Carrington academy graduate went on loan to League One side Burton Albion last year, where he scored on his debut but failed to find the back of the net in his following 17 appearances for the Brewers.

He also spent some time with Altrincham.

Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst reveals that United plan to send Hugill back out on loan this month.

However, the 21-year-old may “have to consider dropping down to a League Two side.”

As Luckhurst notes, Hugill’s academy teammates Radek Vitek, Rhys Bennett and Sonny Aljofree, remain on loan at FC Blau-Weiss Linz, Fleetwood Town and Accrington Stanley respectively.

Ruben Amorim and his players are back in action on Sunday when they make their way to the Emirates to face Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup.

Ex-Man Utd star Cristiano Ronaldo learns transfer ‘option’ after ‘requesting reunion’ amid Chelsea ‘offer’

According to reports, a transfer ‘option has appeared’ for former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo after he ‘offered himself’ to Chelsea.

Ronaldo‘s second spell at Man Utd went poorly as he burned bridges at Old Trafford en route to having his contract terminated before the 2023 January transfer window.

The 39-year-old scored 24 goals in all competitions in the 2021/22 campaign, but he butted heads with Erik ten Hag as the head coach preferred to select Man Utd’s young stars. He was also unhappy following their failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Despite this, Ronaldo decided against joining a European club and signed for Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr on a free transfer.

He’s grabbed 74 goals and 18 assists in his 83 appearances for Al Nassr, who are fourth in the Saudi Pro League after 13 matches.

Ronaldo has entered the final six months of his contract and this has fuelled reports linking him with a move elsewhere.

READ: Cristiano Ronaldo: Man Utd bottom of next move likelihood ranking including Chelsea, PSG

A recent report claimed Ronaldo ‘desires’ a return to Europe and has ‘offered himself’ to Chelsea, though his age and salary are an obstacle.

A report in Spain says his two ‘options’ are committing to Al Nassr or moving to the MLS as the latter possibility has ‘appeared again’.

It is claimed that a decisive factor is he ‘wants to have Casemiro by his side’ as he’s ‘requested a reunion’ with the Man Utd midfielder, who is expected to leave the Premier League giants in 2025.

Earlier this week, a report from GiveMeSport revealed ‘Casemiro has been offered a £650,000-per-week contract’ to move to Saudi Arabia and ‘could join Ronaldo at Al Nassr’.

                The report explains:

‘United star Casemiro has been handed the opportunity to become one of the highest-earners in the Saudi Pro League after being offered a £650,000-per-week contract which would see him leave Old Trafford for Al-Nassr this month.

GMS sources have been informed that Saudi Pro League sporting director Michael Emenalo is driving the move to lure Casemiro away from Manchester United and, should an agreement be reached with central deal-makers, he would be on course to join Old Trafford icon Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.

Casemiro would move into the top-five highest earners in the Saudi Pro League if the move to Al-Awwal Park comes to fruition ahead of the winter transfer window’s February 3 deadline, but GMS sources have been told that there has been no club-to-club contact between Al-Nassr and Manchester United at this stage.

‘Although GMS sources recently revealed that Casemiro is more likely to walk away from Old Trafford at the end of the campaign, central deal-makers have decided to fast-track their pursuit and make their move midway through the season as they aim to turn his head before potentially joining the likes of Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and Aymeric Laporte in Riyadh.’

“All parties hoping it will move quickly”: Casemiro poised for dramatic exit from United – report

Casemiro could reportedly leave Manchester United very soon, with Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr pushing to complete a deal for him this month.

The Brazilian, who has been on United’s books since joining them from Real Madrid in August 2022, has been attracting interest from the Middle East amid uncertainty over his long-term future under head coach Ruben Amorim.

He is believed to be one of a number of players United are eager to offload, in an effort to get his huge wages off of the balance sheet.

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Casemiro has been handed the opportunity to become one of the highest earners in Saudi Arabia after being offered £650,000-per-week terms.

It’s understood that United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has urged Al-Nassr to reunite him with his former Real Madrid and Old Trafford teammate.

Journalist Ben Jacobs recently weighed in on Casemiro’s ongoing situation, writing on X, “Saudi dealmakers believe Casemiro is available for around €30m. It was made clear last summer when Al-Ittihad tried that nothing close to the €70m paid would be offered. Back then, Casemiro was against an exit. He is now more open to the idea of Saudi.”

“Al-Nassr are in a squad and financial position to move, and Casemiro would become one of the top-five paid footballers in Saudi if he agrees to join. Big drive to try and get him, actually dating back three windows, but especially now with the TV rights cycle renewal later this year.”

Man Utd dealt blow as ‘top source’ reveals Chelsea’s seven-word Mainoo stance as shock transfer ‘has legs’

According to reports, Kobbie Mainoo’s shock potential move to Chelsea “certainly has legs” as Manchester United look to raise funds for their rebuild.

Mainoo was one of the standout performers in the Premier League last season as he enjoyed a sensational breakout season for boyhood club Man Utd.

The 2023/24 campaign was miserable for Man Utd but he established himself as one of their most valuable assets as he emerged as one of the Premier League’s best young stars.

Despite this, it’s emerged that the Red Devils are open to letting Mainoo leave as their dire financial situation may force them to sell their prized asset.

It’s understood that Man Utd’s preference would be to keep Mainoo and contract talks are ongoing, but he’s ‘unhappy’ with the ‘initial’ offer to extend his deal.

Chelsea reporter Simon Phillips has revealed their stance on a move for Mainoo as his “top source” claims “they are trying to turn his head”.

Phillips said: “What we have heard is that Chelsea once again senses an opportunity with a contract standoff between Mainoo and Manchester United. Sources have heard that United ARE still trying to agree a new contract.”

“However, it has also been reported by reliable outlets that United might not be able to refuse any good offers for Mainoo due to PSR issues, with a number of their home grown players now up for sale.

“Interestingly, Chelsea also had recent interest in Alejandro Garnacho under this ownership, but I haven’t heard of anything new on that.

“But back to Mainoo, Chelsea have basically just reached out to his agents to tell them they are interested and to see if anything is viable. My top source messaged me late last night and said ‘we are trying to turn Mainoo’s head.’

“We heard yesterday that he ideally wants to stay in Manchester. But maybe this is where agent Cole Palmer comes in!? Chelsea are certainly trying, and it could even happen this month. It certainly has some legs to it.”

Journalist Henry Winter has moved to reassure Man Utd that Mainoo may not leave, though. He suspects the ongoing speculation is “part of the dance” before a new contract can be agreed.

“I assume it’s part of the dance of the deal,” Winter said. “And he’s not particularly well paid, certainly by Manchester United’s stratospheric standards. And he wants a new deal.

“He should very much be part of Manchester United’s future. He’s 19. He’s an England international. He’s been outstanding. He was very good at the weekend, homegrown. He’s just the type of player that they should be holding on to.”

Despite a turbulent campaign for Manchester United, Amad Diallo has stood out with his incredible displays and it seems he is finally earning his just reward.

As per ESPN, after months of negotiations, United have finally agreed on a new long-term deal with the Ivorian with the club expected to announce it soon.

“Manchester United have agreed terms on a new contract for Amad Diallo, sources have told ESPN. The 22-year-old winger has signed a long-term extension to secure his future at Old Trafford.

“A club announcement is imminent and could come as early as Thursday. His contract was due to expire at the end of the season, although United held an option to extend his deal by 12 months.

                      Amad new deal agreed

“The club decided against triggering the option and instead chose to negotiate a new long-term contract.”

The 22-year-old’s current contract was ending in 2025 but the club had the option of triggering a one-year extension. However, instead of triggering the extension, the club went all out to keep a hold of their new talisman.

Details of the length of the new deal has been revealed by Fabrizio Romano with Amad set to sign on the dotted lines until 2030 but his new wages are yet to be revealed, but the news will come as a relief for fans after recent talks of INEOS being open to moving on academy graduates.

The Ivory Coast international has six goals and seven assists this season, and he entered the record books after yet another brilliant performance against Liverpool at the weekend.

Amad netted an 80th-minute equaliser at Anfield and his late heroics against Manchester City made him only the third Red Devil to score away to Liverpool and Manchester City in a single campaign.

Since Ruben Amorim’s arrival, Amad has found a new level to his game, excelling both as a No 10 and wingback and this new contract signifies his importance to the Portuguese’s future plans.

                      Great news for fans

The new deal represents quite the turnaround for the youngster after he was bizarrely overlooked by former manager Erik ten Hag despite his heroics towards the end of last season.

It has not been an easy journey for the former Atalanta starlet since his £37 million move to Manchester in 2020. He was sent out on loan to Rangers, where he failed to shine.

The club did not give up hope and the winger finally came good when he joined Championship side Sunderland on loan a couple of years back.

He has not looked back since and even claimed in the summer that he is open to staying at Old Trafford for the rest of his career. Hopefully, United fans can continue to see more magic from the Ivorian in the years to come.
