Even the most optimistic Manchester United fans could not have expected Senne Lammens to perform so well in his debut season with the club. The 23-year-old has been consistently tremendous across his first campaign with the Red Devils, making some huge saves and looking incredibly assured between the sticks. There was little fanfare when Lammens arrived at Old Trafford from Royal Antwerp in a deal worth an initial £18.1 million. He was a goalkeeper with clear potential, but some pundits and fans felt that the 23-year-old did not have the experience required to take on the daunting task of being Manchester United’s first-choice keeper. However, after just one season in Manchester, Lammens has silenced his doubters and established himself as one of the best young goalkeepers in the world. This meteoric rise is reflected in the fact that his estimated transfer value now places him among the most expensive goalkeepers in the world. His predecessors struggled Lammens arrived at the club after a difficult few seasons for Manchester United’s goalkeepers. Andre Onana, who was signed for a huge fee from Inter Milan, never seemed comfortable in goal. He was erratic with the ball at his feet, and his save ratio was well below the standard expected of a top-class goalkeeper. Across two seasons with the Red Devils, the Cameroon international was at fault for a staggering 22 goals. His understudy, Altay Bayindir, was given the opportunity to earn the number one shirt at the start of the season but, after a string of underwhelming performances in which he struggled to show authority in his six-yard box, it was clear he did not have the skillset needed for the position. The pair’s poor performances resulted in Onana heading out on a season-long loan to Trabzonspor, while Bayindir was eventually returned to the bench, providing Lammens with an opportunity he made sure to take. An astonishing debut season Lammens excelled in just about every area a goalkeeper can last season. He was calm with the ball at his feet, his passing into midfield was crisp and measured, and he was excellent at controlling his box. He was dominant in the air, rising confidently to claim crosses with authority. His stats are astonishing too. It was recently revealed that the Belgium international prevented over six goals in the Premier League last season, the highest number of any goalkeeper. He also produced outstanding performances to single-handedly rescue points for Manchester United at times in the season. When taking all this into consideration, it comes as no surprise that the young goalkeeper was named Premier League Transfer of the Season. It is a testament to the hard work he has put in and the maturity he has shown in marshalling his defence. The small transfer fee Manchester United paid appears to be even more of a bargain now that Lammens’ current estimated transfer value has been revealed. This not only firmly establishes the 23-year-old among the world’s elite goalkeepers, but also highlights what a shrewd piece of business his signing really was. In just ten months since he was announced as a Red Devil, his value has risen by more than 150%, with CIES estimating the shot-stopper is now worth a whopping £45 million. While all Manchester United’s transfer business last summer was successful, there is no doubt that Lammens is by far the best piece of business the club have conducted since INEOS took control of the football operations. If Lammens’ value has risen this much after just one season, fans can only dream about how much he will be worth after more time spent learning and growing at Carrington. United told to launch 70m bid to strike agreement for England star, Wilcox is pushing for him – report

Manchester United must dig deep into their pockets to get their preferred left-back target. The left flank remains an area of concern for United, who struggled to consistently create width in the final third. A recent Athletic report suggested a new full-back seems more likely to arrive at Old Trafford than a winger. There are only a handful of left-backs good enough to pose a genuine challenge to Luke Shaw for the starting spot, and it would take a significant effort to get such a deal over the line. Manchester United keen on Lewis Hall According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are interested in Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall. Hall has three years remaining on his contract with the Magpies, who are no longer in desperate need of sales following Anthony Gordon’s move to Barcelona. It is understood that a deal for the 21-year-old Englishman would be difficult to complete, as Newcastle have insisted that he is not for sale. However, the report states that “if his head could be turned, an offer of around £70million would have to be considered.” Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming that United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, is a big admirer of the speedster and is pushing the club to look seriously at a deal. At the end of the day, Hall is just a full-back and £70m is a lot of money for that area, irrespective of his immense potential. Manchester United trailing Bayern Munich in Nathaniel Brown race Eintracht Frankfurt’s attacking left-back Nathaniel Brown is another player on United’s radar. However, earlier today, Sky Sports claimed that the Germany international has agreed to join Bayern Munich. Bayern still have to find an agreement with Eintracht, who are thought to be demanding up to €60 million. As such, there is still hope for United if they decide to meet the Bundesliga outfit’s asking price for Brown. “We’ll make the necessary sacrifices”: Club president determined to seal the deal for resurgent 47m United star

Andre Onana to Trabzonspor looks like a deal we can anticipate, given the latest admissions from Turkey. After an inconsistent spell at Manchester United and failing to live up to the hype across two seasons, INEOS made the ruthless call last summer to move on from Onana. Signing a top goalkeeper became a priority and, fortunately, Senne Lammens arrived from Royal Antwerp on an £18.2 million deal. Lammens’ arrival saw Onana sent out on loan, joining Turkish side Trabzonspor for the season. Andre Onana impressed in Turkey In Turkey, slowly but surely, Onana re-established himself, showing glimpses of the influence he had at Inter Milan before United snapped him up for around £47.2 million in the summer of 2023. The Cameroonian keeper’s brilliance helped Trabzonspor pull off one of their most successful seasons, finishing third and earning a Europa League shot if they successfully navigate qualification. No longer in United’s plans Onana has certainly enjoyed a fine 2025-26 campaign, yet despite his resurgence, his future lies away from Manchester. Lammens, named the Premier League transfer of the season, has proven a massive hit, bringing the breath of fresh air The Red Devils needed between the sticks and offering the kind of consistency Onana simply could not. In truth, Lammens is now the present and future of United’s goalkeeping. Onana just needs to be moved on. Transfer message sent Interest in Onana’s services in Turkey is substantial, but while rivals anticipate challenging Trabzonspor for this transfer, their president stepped forward with a hint of just how difficult they will be to beat for Onana’s signature. “We speak with Onana every day,” Ertugrul Dogan, the Trabzonspor president, said as per Futbol Arena. “We won’t have any financial difficulties. We’ll make the necessary sacrifices. I don’t think we will experience any setbacks. But if we do, we will find another goalkeeper of the same quality.” Dogan’s claims will be music to INEOS’ ears, coming fresh off the back of striking a £38 million deal to send Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli. While the precise asking price for Onana remains unclear, Trabzonspor’s willingness to compromise is great news for all parties. If only Barcelona showed the same resolve, agreeing to make sacrifices to get Marcus Rashford permanently on board after his brilliant campaign in Spain, it would be a dream summer for The 20-time English champions. In the end, with Hojlund, Onana, and hopefully Rashford all potentially moving on, this could be a summer when United raise some eye-catching figures from sales, helping to assemble a formidable squad for Michael Carrick to build something special with. Man City’s plan to go “all in” for another one of United’s top targets will leave Carrick fuming – Fabrizio Romano

Elliot Anderson was initially packaged as Manchester United’s top midfield target. Yet over time, it became clear that pursuing him was a futile exercise for the Red Devils. Anderson is keen on joining Manchester City, with the Cityzens equally keen, and preferring a rival with the financial muscle to meet his demands. Ineos appeared to see the wisdom in shifting focus to other targets. Tonali a top Man United midfield target A report relayed by The Peoples Person not long ago claimed United boss Michael Carrick had identified Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali as his number one midfield target. United are yet to open talks with the Magpies over a deal for the Italian, but they may now need to move quickly. Reports suggest City are already negotiating with Nottingham Forest over Anderson, with the Cityzens’ opening bid having been rejected, though talks continue. While the two sides could yet reach an agreement, there remains a chance they may not, particularly given the extraordinary figures Forest are demanding. Tonali: Man City’s Elliot Anderson alternative Crucially, should a deal for Anderson collapse, Fabrizio Romano is sounding a warning to United. The transfer guru reports: “Manchester City remain in talks for Elliot Anderson after first bid rejected, but Forest want more than £100m. “Understand Sandro Tonali is emerging as a strong option for Man City if the Anderson deal cannot get done…[They] are considering the possibility of going all in on Sandro Tonali if they cannot get Elliot Anderson.” It increasingly looks as though City’s mission this summer is to systematically wreck United’s midfield rebuild, and they are making no secret of it. Ineos better act First it was Anderson, now Tonali, and there is also talk of City eyeing Mateus Fernandes. The pattern is hard to ignore. United must act decisively. If Tonali is genuinely a priority, the deal needs to get done, and soon. City are currently focused on the Anderson deal; United clearly have the opportunity to beat their noisy neighbours at their own game by denying them the chance to sign Tonali should the Anderson pursuit fall flat. “Fantastic” talent chooses between United and Arsenal, talks ongoing to seal summer deal – Fabrizio Romano

Manchester United appear to have hit a stumbling block in their pursuit of Leicester City speedster Jeremy Monga. The Red Devils’ form in the final third of the pitch improved drastically in the 2025/26 campaign following an investment of over £200 million in the frontline last summer. United scored 69 goals in 38 Premier League games, just two fewer than champions Arsenal. While Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko have all enjoyed impressive debut campaigns, the English giants remain on the hunt for further attacking reinforcements this year. The idea is to add more width to the frontline, as neither Cunha nor Mbeumo are natural wingers. The duo have a tendency to drift inside, and the Red Devils are looking for a speedy winger who can stretch the opposition and add another dimension to their attack. RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande and Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye have been named as options, but INEOS also remain alert to rising stars from across the country. A previous report relayed by The Peoples Person suggests that Monga is on United’s wish list this year. United plotting to take advantage of Leicester City’s struggles Monga rose through the ranks at the King Power Stadium and broke into the senior side in April 2025. He subsequently became the second-youngest player to feature in the Premier League, behind Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri. Last season, the 16 year old registered one goal and two assists in 30 appearances across competitions for the East Midlands club, 10 of which were starts. A left-sided attacker who can also operate centrally as a playmaker, Monga’s speed and explosive dribbling make him a lucrative option for United. Red Devils legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was in charge of Leicester City during the 2024/25 campaign and handed the teenager his debut, famously described him as “fantastic”. The Foxes were relegated to League One, the third tier of English football, last season and have to raise funds to balance their finances this summer. The East Midlands club are likely to turn to player sales to address the situation. The English giants are ready to take advantage of the situation and prise the Englishman away, although it is believed that the Foxes are holding out for a £15 million fee. A previous report states that the Red Devils are locked in a battle with the Gunners for the teenager. A recent update has now emerged that will not please United fans. Monga opens door to Emirates move According to acclaimed journalist Fabrizio Romano, Monga has given his green light to a move to Arsenal. Sharing the news on his X handle, the journalist wrote: “Arsenal are pushing to advance on Jeremy Monga deal with Leicester City and player’s camp. Discussions ongoing as Monga has opened doors to the move to #AFC.” The Gunners are coming off a stellar campaign, winning the Premier League title and reaching the Champions League final. However, the north London giants remain keen to upgrade their attack, which could put a dent in United’s plans. Journalist Ben Jacobs has reported the same on X, adding that Monga picked Arsenal over several clubs: “Advanced talks taking place with Leicester after Monga picked #AFC over several other clubs. A full verbal agreement is close.” The Red Devils are preparing for a busy summer and have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson. Securing Monga’s services, though, is unlikely to be as straightforward. Final Thoughts United have shifted to a youth-centric transfer policy under INEOS, and Monga is exactly the kind of talent they will want in their squad. However, all signs indicate that the Red Devils are resigned to missing out on the teenager. 🚨🔴⚪️ Arsenal are pushing to advance on Jeremy Monga deal with Leicester City and player’s camp. United’s hunt for “elite” midfield maestro rocked as arch PL rival storms into race with 52m bid – report

Manchester United’s interest in LOSC Lille wonderkid Ayyoub Bouaddi is under serious threat from Arsenal, according to the latest report. Ligue 1 Starlet Despite only turning 18 in October, Bouaddi has already established himself as a permanent fixture in Lille’s starting eleven this season, making 42 appearances in all competitions. The French-born midfielder, who has chosen to represent Morocco and will play at the World Cup this month for the Atlas Lions, is an all-action dynamo capable of playing across a variety of roles. Possessing a powerful 6’1″ frame, he has found no issues adapting to senior football in the most demanding area of the pitch. These physical qualities are paired with “elite” technique as well, making him one of the most highly-rated prospects in Europe, and the latest talent to emerge from Lille’s renowned academy. It therefore makes sense for United to have registered interest, given they already struck a £52 million deal to sign Leny Yoro two years ago, another product from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. The club are intent on revamping their midfield this summer, with Casemiro‘s contract set to expire and Manuel Ugarte available for sale. A £35m deal has already been agreed for Ederson, Atalanta’s Brazilian enforcer, while talks are ongoing for West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes. But Bouaddi has long been on United’s radar, with scouts tracking his progress and delivering regular reports to the recruitment department. If Ugarte is sold, Bouaddi would be an outstanding replacement to pair alongside Kobbie Mainoo as a partnership for the future. Arsenal strike first The Red Devils are not alone in their admiration, however, with virtually every top side in Europe keeping tabs, though it is an old foe who is leading the charge. Fresh from securing their first Premier League title in 22 years, Arsenal are not resting on their laurels as they look to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s squad. Foot Africa claims the Gunners have identified Bouaddi as one of their “top priorities” this summer. A £52m bid has been tabled, but immediately rejected by Lille, who are holding out for up to £60m for their prized asset. A strong showing at the World Cup would only serve to strengthen their negotiating position. Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also understood to be in the mix, offering Les Dogues hope of a bidding war breaking out amongst Europe’s elite. Final Thoughts While Bouaddi has made a strong impression at Old Trafford, United’s budget will not be able to stretch to spending £60m on an 18-year-old prospect in midfield. If Arsenal have already faced rejection with a £52m bid, the chances of Bouaddi becoming a Red Devil this summer are next to nil.
