Manchester United have had to overcome problem after problem as they look to add to their midfield ranks. The signing of Ederson from Atalanta was negotiated swiftly enough, but since then, the Red Devils have not had as smooth a ride as INEOS would have liked. Moves for Elliot Anderson and Sandro Tonali fell through due to the costs involved, with the club currently focusing on landing Mateus Fernandes from West Ham. The Portugal international is keen to join and play alongside his idol, Bruno Fernandes, but the Hammers have proven to be a tough nut to crack. United’s midfield search has taken them to Alex Scott Add Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid to the mix, and the 20-time English league champions cannot afford to put all their eggs in the same basket. As per Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic, the Old Trafford side have Bournemouth’s Alex Scott on their radar. The 22-year-old’s current deal with Bournemouth ends in 2028, and so far, he has refused to agree a contract extension. However, Arsenal have sensed an opportunity and have joined the race. The Cherries are reluctant to sell their midfield talisman but are starting to soften their stance. Arsenal join the race They want the 22-year-old to sign a new deal, which would include a £75 million release clause, so that he can leave on amicable terms. However, both United and the Gunners are unlikely to pay as much, considering the England international’s deal has only two years left to run. “It’s a little bit of a development, but Arsenal are interested in him. That might be a rival for United if they want to progress with the Scott situation. Release clause details and alternatives “Bournemouth are trying to get him to sign a new contract and put a release clause in there for £75m. That’s more than clubs would be willing to pay with two years left on his deal.” Should INEOS feel the price is too high, Scott’s club teammate Tyler Adams is another player they are keeping tabs on. He would cost significantly less, and is a more natural defensive midfielder. It will be interesting to see whether United end up raiding Bournemouth after they held secret talks this summer regarding several of their players. United have to negotiate fierce PL competition to land 22yo maestro as release clause details explained – report

United seize pole position ahead of Liverpool for elite French magician, CL giant ready to agree 52m deal – report

Manchester United are the club most interested in bringing Eduardo Camavinga to the Premier League if the 23-year-old midfielder leaves Real Madrid, according to a Spanish journalist. Fixing the Engine Room The Red Devils are focusing on a major revamp in midfield this summer, as Kobbie Mainoo is currently the only option in Michael Carrick’s engine room with a long-term future at Old Trafford. Despite a resurgence in performance, INEOS have decided against triggering a one-year extension in Casemiro‘s contract, with the Brazilian close to signing for Inter Miami on a free transfer. Manuel Ugarte has proven to be an ineffective deputy to Casemiro and will be sold if a suitable offer arrives. There is interest from Italy and Türkiye in the Uruguay international, who United hope can enhance his market value with a strong World Cup campaign. A £39 million deal has already been struck for Atalanta dynamo Ederson, a player with a similar profile to Ugarte, albeit one more suited to the cut and thrust of Premier League football. West Ham starlet Mateus Fernandes is next on the agenda, though the Hammers’ asking price of £85 million is proving an obstacle. However, United remain intent on signing a ‘marquee’ midfielder to help effectively replace Casemiro, though the club’s primary target, Elliot Anderson, looks set to join local rivals Manchester City for a potentially record-breaking fee. Real Madrid superstar Aurelien Tchouameni is considered a “dream target” by United’s hierarchy, with recruitment director Christopher Vivell understood to be pushing hard for the 26-year-old France international. There is said to be quiet optimism that a blockbuster raid can be pulled off as Jose Mourinho’s arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu is set to shake things up, even if the player and his club are both happy to continue their working relationship. Open to the Premier League One midfielder whom the Spanish giants are reportedly ready to force through the exit door is Camavinga, with Real willing to sacrifice the 23-year-old to generate funds for Mourinho’s favoured targets, including Manchester City maestro Rodri. A report relayed by The Peoples Person revealed Los Blancos want to sell Camavinga after a poor season, even if he would prefer to remain. And, speaking on his YouTube channel, Miguel Serrano confirms this intention. The Spanish reporter reveals Real’s executive branch want Mourinho to directly communicate to the player that he is the last choice in midfield, and that an exit is in his best interest as much as the club’s. Serrano goes on to say Camavinga’s agents have sounded out potential suitors, with the Frenchman believed to be open to a switch to a top club in the Premier League if forced to leave. He would also be willing to join either Bayern Munich or Paris Saint-Germain, though neither side considers him a target. Juventus are one of the clubs to have registered the strongest interest, though the Old Lady would not be able to meet Real’s €60 million (£52 million) asking price, nor would Camavinga want to play in Italy. Inter Milan have also been credited as an admirer. Out of the “top six in England”, Serrano claims United have taken the closest look and shown the most interest in striking a deal, though Liverpool are also understood to be in the hunt. However, it is unclear whether the recent capture of Ederson and the pursuit of Fernandes – two midfielders best deployed as No.8s, the same as Camavinga – will affect this interest. Final Thoughts Despite a poor campaign, Camavinga remains a world-class operator with a potent pairing of physical and technical quality. His versatility, being capable of playing across a variety of roles in midfield and even as a left-back, is another bonus for a United squad requiring reinforcements in both areas. However, the Rennes academy graduate is not the natural No.6 INEOS are desperate to add to their ranks, nor does his recent injury history suggest he will handle the jump in intensity from Spain to England easily, even if he has the skillset to do so. If United can strike a cut-price deal for a Champions League-winning midfielder, it is a difficult package to say no to. But if Real insist on a high fee for a player who already feels he has achieved his dream at the Bernabeu, INEOS are likely to pass on the chance to bring him to the Theatre of Dreams. Luke Shaws natural successor demands exit to further his career, United have a dilemma – report
Harry Amass has a bright chance to force his way into Manchester United’s plans for next season. According to reports regarding the Red Devils’ transfer plans, signing a left-back is on the agenda this summer. Push for a left-back signing Two factors are influencing this transfer. Patrick Dorgu has been a massive hit in a wing role, and there is now talk that he is set to be used on the left wing, a tactical tweak that the Dane and his entourage are embracing. In fact, if they had their own way, they would have him playing as a right winger. Dorgu’s role change, coupled with Luke Shaw needing competition at left-back, opens the door for that transfer. Splashing the cash on a new left-back is what is expected, but United want to give Amass a chance in pre-season to show whether he is ready for a key role. Harry Amass an option at left-back The 19-year-old had a brilliant first half of last season, impressing on loan at Sheffield Wednesday despite the Championship side’s struggles. However, as fantastic as he was with the Owls, making 22 starts, INEOS felt a change of environment mid-season, moving to a better-performing Championship side, would benefit his development. Unfortunately, he made only one appearance for Norwich before picking up a serious hamstring injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season. That injury significantly disrupted his development, making pre-season pivotal in determining where he will play his football next season. However, according to The Sun, the young full-back, who MEN’s Josh Holland said had “incredible upper strength to storm past challenges” on the wing, appears to have made a decision about next season. Transfer request made The UK outlet is reporting: “Manchester United left back Harry Amass wants to head back out on loan next season.” While the report also emphasises that Michael Carrick will watch Amass closely in pre-season to judge where he fits into his plans, another loan exit could yet make sense. His development last season was disrupted, and if he feels he needs to go out and prove himself ready, it may well be worth a shot. Being in the final year of his United contract, though there is an option to extend his deal by a year, next season will be key for Amass in sealing his fate as a Red Devil. Hopefully, wherever he plays, he kicks on and takes his game to the next level. CL powerhouse preparing “significant offer” to stop United from landing “extraordinary” superstar – report

Manchester United’s hunt for the perfect successor to Casemiro remains ongoing. A deal for Ederson has already been agreed on the Brazilian’s recommendation, but the Atalanta ace is seen as more of a box-to-box presence rather than an out-and-out defensive midfielder. Currently, the focus is on trying to sign Mateus Fernandes from West Ham after the Red Devils were priced out of moves for Elliot Anderson and Sandro Tonali. The Portugal international excels as a deep-lying playmaker, who could eventually replace Bruno Fernandes as per INEOS’ thinking. United’s hunt for the perfect defensive midfielder The chase has been far from easy given the interest from numerous suitors, along with the Hammers’ asking price. Tyler Adams and Alex Scott are other options, but the co-owners have realised that they need to look beyond the Premier League to find that elusive No. 6. Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni is one name that Michael Carrick is a huge fan of, but Los Blancos’ president Florentino Perez had categorically mentioned that the Frenchman was going nowhere. There have been murmurs that Jose Mourinho is open to the former Monaco ace leaving, with the Spanish giants eyeing a lucrative sale to speed up their hunt for Enzo Fernandez of Chelsea. Real Madrid do not want to lose Aurelien Tchouameni However, Diario OK have now revealed that the La Liga giants are hoping to persuade the “extraordinary” ace to sign a contract extension and are set to offer him a substantial wage increase. “Real Madrid is very clear on one thing: Aurélien Tchouaméni is not for sale. At Valdebebas, they are observing with some surprise all the rumours that have placed the French international away from the Santiago Bernabéu in recent weeks. “The reality is quite the opposite. The club not only does not foresee his departure, but is already working on a roadmap that involves making him one of the pillars of the long-term project. The next step will be to offer him a contract extension once his participation with France in the World Cup is over. “Real Madrid ‘s plan is to meet with the player this summer to extend his contract, which currently expires in 2028. The club believes there’s no point in waiting much longer. The aim is to avoid Tchouaméni reaching the summer of 2027 with only a year left on his contract and the possibility of starting to consider offers from the transfer market. United must pivot to other targets instead of wasting time “Therefore, the club is preparing a significant offer: a long-term contract renewal with a substantial salary increase and a very clear message behind it: Real Madrid considers him one of the most important players in the squad. Currently, the Frenchman earns around seven million euros net per season, a figure that would be significantly improved in the new agreement.” This could potentially end the rumours surrounding Aurelien Tchouameni once and for all. United have other, younger options like Ayyoub Bouaddi and Nathan De Cat on their radar as well. 104m star blows away United scouts with World Cup performance, Red Devils now plotting stunning move – report

Manchester United are closely monitoring several midfielders as they look to overhaul their midfield this summer. United’s preference is to add players with Premier League experience to their squad, which initially made Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes their priority targets at the start of the summer. However, the Red Devils’ scouts are also on alert during the World Cup to identify further options, with United having already decided against making a move for Anderson. Felix Nmecha “blows scouts away” Earlier this month, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Manchester United are in “contact” with the intermediaries of Felix Nmecha following an impressive Bundesliga campaign. Now, Football Insider reports that United are also tracking the Germany international in America. It is understood that the 6’3″ midfield dynamo’s performance in Germany’s opening World Cup match against Curacao has “grabbed attention”. The 25-year-old scored the opening goal in a resounding 7-1 win with a superb finish. He could have had a hat-trick in the first half as Curacao players frequently failed to track his late runs into the box, resulting in several chances. Nmecha’s close control and energy out of possession further underlined why he has quickly become an integral part of Julian Nagelsmann’s side. Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke claims that United have had scouts “keeping a close eye” on Nmecha, whose World Cup display impressed those watching. “The United scouting team have been keeping tabs on him and he started the World Cup with a strong performance for Germany which will have impressed his suitors,” he said. Manchester United quoted eye-watering fee However, it is expected to be very difficult to prise the former Manchester City midfielder away from Borussia Dortmund. Recently, a BILD report suggested that Dortmund have no intention of losing their star midfielder this summer. Accordingly, they have set a high asking price to ward off United, City, and Chelsea. The Premier League trio have been told they need €120 million (£104m) if they are to sign Nmecha this summer. Dortmund recently extended the combative midfielder’s contract until 2030, including a release clause for 2027 valued at €80m. Spurs make decision on Arsenal Greenwood battle as United stand to rake in massive windfall – Fabrizio Romano

Mason Greenwood is tipped to leave Olympique Marseille this summer, an outcome that will have Manchester United on alert. In the summer of 2024, the Red Devils reluctantly agreed to a £26.6 million transfer exit, with Greenwood joining Marseille. If not for the controversy surrounding the attacker, which gave United a torrid time as they attempted to reintegrate him into their squad, Greenwood would have stayed and had the chance to reinvent himself at Old Trafford. The club had no choice but to let him go, though they were wise enough to include a 40 per cent sell-on clause in their agreement with the Ligue 1 side. Two years on, Marseille are looking to move him on and, following a brilliant spell with the club, they are seeking €55 million (£48m) for his services. Over the past few days, it has been suggested that Greenwood could be heading to Italy to join AS Roma, with the Serie A side reportedly agreeing personal terms with the United academy graduate. All that appeared to remain was a club-to-club agreement. Yet, just as the Italian side may have been pushing in on the finer details of this transfer, L’Equipe has dropped an interesting twist. Premier League interest in Mason Greenwood mooted The French outlet, speculating on Greenwood’s final destination, claims that he “has no shortage of suitors: AS Roma, Arsenal, Tottenham .” However, just as that report was setting the stage for a North London battle, Fabrizio Romano moved quickly to clarify: “Tottenham are not working on a deal to sign Mason Greenwood despite reports.” 🚨 Tottenham are not working on deal to sign Mason Greenwood despite reports. pic.twitter.com/wBfIyJbDJ7 — Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 19, 2026 All that matters for United is that Greenwood is sold So, a Tottenham-Arsenal battle for Greenwood may not materialise after all, but the prospect of Arsenal going head-to-head with Roma for his signature is a great transfer alternative. And even if Arsenal’s interest stops short of a full-blown pursuit, their presence alone could pressure Roma into committing the full asking price. Either way, INEOS will focus on the sizeable windfall they will receive from any sale, funds that could go a long way towards fuelling their big summer plans. United’s pursuit of “fantastic” English sensation rocked after Arsenal submit official bid first – Fabrizio Romano

Manchester United risk losing Jeremy Monga to Arsenal after the Gunners ramped up their pursuit of the Leicester City wonderkid, according to Fabrizio Romano. Wing Wizard Monga, 16, is widely considered one of the most exciting prospects in England after firmly establishing himself as a part of Leicester City’s side last season, despite the Foxes being relegated from the Championship. The left winger made 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring one goal and assisting twice. But it is his fearless approach, predicated on dizzying dribbling and the ability to go inside or out, which has really caught the eye, as has his record-breaking streak. In April 2025, the Coventry-born starlet became the second youngest player to make their debut in Premier League history after bursting onto the scene at the King Power Stadium in an otherwise miserable campaign that ended in relegation. In August of the same year, he broke a 59-year record as Leicester City’s youngest ever starter in the penalty shoot-out defeat to Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup. It was previously held by legendary goalkeeper Peter Shilton. The same month, just over a five weeks after his 16th birthday, he became the Championship’s youngest goal scorer since its rebrand in 2004-05 with a well-taken finish against Preston North End, surpassing Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham. It is little wonder, therefore, that the Premier League’s biggest clubs, including the Red Devils, have made advances to sign Monga, given Leicester have dropped down into League One and his “fantastic” talent belongs far higher up the football pyramid, as United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy acknowledged during his time as Foxes manager. Arsenal leading the charge United’s sporting director Jason Wilcox is understood to have held talks with “club officials” from Leicester, with sources confirming “firm interest” from Old Trafford. However, the queue of suitors for Monga is extensive, with as many as ten Premier League clubs said to have expressed interest in the England under-19 international. But it is Arsenal, fresh from their first title in 22 years, who are leading the charge, Fabrizio Romano confirms. The Italian transfer expert claims the Gunners have submitted an “official bid” for Monga, with “optimism” he will arrive at the Emirates this summer. 🚨🔴⚪️ EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal sent official bid to Leicester City to get Jeremy Monga deal done. 16 year old winger keen on joining #AFC and deal moving quickly now with optimism to sign #LCFC talent, seen as huge prospect for the future. ⏳⌛️ pic.twitter.com/8xZQMCfByU — Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 18, 2026 Tweet: “EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal sent official bid to Leicester City to get Jeremy Monga deal done. 16 year old winger keen on joining #AFC and deal moving quickly now with optimism to sign #LCFC talent, seen as huge prospect for the future.” Monga is understood to be open to the switch to North London, though Leicester’s asking price of £15 million is a prohibitive one for any of his suitors. Arsenal’s bid is not believed to have been accepted yet, making it likely it has fallen below this valuation and offering United hope of a last-minute hijack. Interestingly, Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Marcus Rashford after FC Barcelona decided against triggering the £26m buy option in the 28-year-old forward‘s loan deal. United poised to land lethal hitman with Championship club powerless to stop INEOS – report
Manchester United are set to sign Derby County wonderkid Blake Henry, according to a new report. Striking Starlet Despite only turning 14 in November, Henry is already attracting attention from the Premier League’s elite thanks to his incredible goalscoring record last season. The Manchester Evening News reveals the red-hot striker plundered 45 goals across all competitions to mark himself as “one of the hottest attacking prospects in the country.” In Derby’s 142-year history, Henry became the second youngster player to be offered a scholarship at 13, while he has already signed a sponsorship deal with Adidas. Over the winter period, the England under-15 international made his debut for Derby in the U18 Premier League, becoming one of the youngest players to do so. The Midlands club worked “incredibly hard” to tie him down to a new contract over the past 18 months, but he is expected to leave Park Park this summer. Despite Manchester City vying for his signature, local outlet Derby Telegraph reveals he is “set to join Manchester United”. Derby will be entitled to “significant compensation” should Henry arrive at Old Trafford, though the exact figure will be determined by his “age, how long he spent at the academy, the category of the club signing him plus development and training costs.” If the two clubs cannot reach an agreement, the case will “go to a Professional Football Compensation Committee tribunal which will determine the outcome,” the report concludes. Focusing on Youth United have demonstrated a renewed focus on securing the best youngsters since INEOS took charge in 2024 – an approach which had been lost in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era. The captures of Ayden Heaven and Chido Obi from Arsenal highlight a ruthlessness from the Old Trafford hierarchy, while the signings of talents like Sekou Kone from Mali and Diego Leon from Paraguay underscore how global their view is. Talks are underway to bring David Eze to the red half of Manchester, with the 16-year-old midfielder considered one of the premier prospects in Man City’s academy. Similarly, a deal has just been struck to add Liverpool’s highly-rated winger Vincent Joseph, while Isaac Konde is another target in the crosshairs on Merseyside. While a raid on Derby does not quite stoke the fires in the same way as one on Anfield or the Etihad, Henry is one of the most exciting talents at any age group in the country.
