Manchester United’s true feelings on the FA Youth Cup venue confirmation has been revealed. FA Youth Cup details announced Earlier on Wednesday, a report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Manchester City will host United in the FA Youth Cup final at the Joie Stadium. The two clubs had been in talks for long to the point that they will not meet the FA’s deadline of playing the game by May 9. The Mail further explain, “It is customary that the Youth Cup, the most prestigious tournament in academy football, hosts the final at a first-team stadium and City are the only club this century to use their academy ground for such an event.” “There have been whispers for weeks that a match beyond the end of the Premier League season was discussed as a potential option, while a switch to play it at Old Trafford was proposed by the FA rather than United.” “Sources close to United’s Under 18s team have expressed their disappointment to Confidential. They say it’s a shame that the first all-Manchester Youth Cup final since 1986 could not be played at the Etihad, but are keen not to fall out with their neighbours over it.” It is said that City were not willing to give up home advantage. Michael Carrick has defied all expectations as an interim manager and while there may be a few doubts lingering here or there, most supporters would agree giving him the job is the right call. Giving the position to someone else now is just as risky as leaving it in Carrick’s hands, though he will need to be better supported by the decision-makers at the club. There is one notable matter that’s come up from all of the circus surrounding his potential long-term appointment that should concern fans, and that is Sir Jim Ratcliffe, or at least what has been reported on him. …. The Athletic previously revealed Carrick’s personality didn’t align with what Ratcliffe would typically go for as he’s normally drawn to more alpha type characters. Recently, more reports have come out claiming the former midfielder’s calm and composed demeanour won the co-owner over. Whatever the case may be about Sir Jim’s feelings towards Carrick, the trouble is, it shouldn’t matter and we shouldn’t know about it, let alone read constant briefings in the news. The owners of any club’s job should just be financial support and having a say in the appointment of a CEO. From there, everything else should be left to the CEO and the rest of the senior leadership team. ….
