Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has surprisingly open the door for the return of the outcasts who were left at Carrington.
The Portuguese manager is currently touring with his main host in the United States, where they will play fellow Premier League clubs, West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton in pre-season friendlies.
However, Amorim had dropped five players from his plans, prompting transfer requests. The stars in question are Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia.

While Rashford has already sealed his dream move to Barcelona, the other four are still waiting to learn their fates.
But although he doesn’t want these players at his disposal, Amorim has now adopted a lenient stance, claiming that he and the club would be willing to welcome them back to the fold if they fail to seal transfers.
“Some players have to move to make space in the team, others want a new challenge. We are giving them time to think, and if they reach a point where they have to join the team, they will,” said the 40-year-old in the press conference he held in New Jersey on Friday (via the Manchester Evening News).
“Omar [Berrada] and Jason [Wilcox] have a number for these players, if that isn’t reached, they will be United players. I am ready to receive the players. I have more options and if they have to fight each other to play that is perfect.”
What’s next for Man United outcasts?
Despite Amorim’s reassuring words, these players know they would have to start from the bottom of the pecking order. And in the absence of European football, they will likely be left to starve for playing time, barring an injury crisis.
Therefore, these outcasts must realise that sealing moves away from Man United remains their best option.
Sancho has been heavily linked with Juventus, and many sources in Italy claim that the deal is at an advanced stage.
As for Antony, a return to Real Betis remains on the card, although the Spaniards are struggling to meet his asking price. Finally, the futures of Garnacho and Malacia remain anyone’s guess.
