Manchester United winger Antony has reportedly changed his mind, as he’s now open to making a move which he had previously rejected.
The 25-year-old might be one of the most talented players in his generation thanks to his outstanding skills and outrageous flicks and tricks. But for one reason or another, he failed to showcase his worth after making the £86 million transfer from Ajax to Man Utd in the summer of 2022.
The Brazilian was reunited with his old boss, Erik ten Hag, but neither man was able to replicate the exploits they shared during their time together in Amsterdam. Therefore, the Dutch manager was shown the door last October, and the winger soon followed suit, signing for Real Betis on loan.
Antony’s Spanish revival
Swiftly following his arrival in Spain, the player was able to remind the world about the young Brazilian who took Europe by storm with his vicious skills at Ajax. The Spanish media was quick to hail his ‘magical’ talent.

But while Betis have been keen to sign Antony on a permanent transfer, they haven’t been able to launch an offer that meets Man United’s asking price. On the other hand, the Sao Paulo native was initially against making a transfer to the Middle East, insisting on plying his trade in Europe, especially with the World Cup ensuing next summer.
Nevertheless, British journalist Sam Cohen revealed that the Man Utd outcast is now open to joining a Saudi Pro League club, before posting that the news has now been confirmed by his agents.

Antony open to moving to Saudi Pro League
At this stage, Saudi Arabia represents the ideal resort for Man United when it comes to offloading unwanted players with hefty salaries. After all, these clubs have the financial means to offer the Red Devils a significant transfer fee that prevents them from registering a capital loss under the Premier League’s PSR rules, while also luring the player with astronomical wages.
So even though Ruben Amorim claimed that he’s willing to reinstate Antony and the other outcasts if they can’t find themselves new clubs, the management would be delighted to relieve themselves of the financial burdens represented by their salaries.
United will be looking to collect a figure in the region of £40 million for the Brazil international.
