United now planning to re-sign “very complete” 23-yo star after 52m transfer of Spaniard – report

United now planning to re-sign “very complete” 23-yo star after 52m transfer of Spaniard – report

Real Madrid have beaten Manchester United to the signature of Marc Cucurella. It is no secret that United want to strengthen their left flank with a new full-back to provide genuine competition to Luke Shaw following Tyrell Malacia’s exit on a free transfer. Earlier this month, The Peoples Person relayed a report which claimed that United had entered the race to sign Cucurella. Manchester United considering signing Alvaro Carreras Real Madrid have now officially agreed a deal worth €60 million (£52m) to sign Marc Cucurella from Chelsea. However, this development may help Manchester United get another talented left-back. According to The Touchline on X, Cucurella’s move to the Spanish capital has opened the door for United to consider a move for Madrid star Alvaro Carreras. It is claimed United are internally exploring a move to bring back Carreras after Madrid completed the signing of Cucurella. The youngster was described as “very complete” by former Real boss Xabi Alonso. The former United academy left-back only joined Los Blancos from Benfica in a deal worth around €50m last summer. He endured a mixed debut campaign in Spain, but there are already question marks over his future. It is understood that Carreras could look for a move in search of regular playing time following Cucurella’s arrival. The 27-year-old is expected to be Jose Mourinho’s first-choice left-back. “No formal approach has been made yet, but United want to understand Carreras’ situation,” the report adds. Manchester United keen on Lewis Hall Given United snubbed the opportunity to trigger a buyback clause to re-sign Carreras from Benfica, it is fair to assume the 23-year-old is not rated very highly at Old Trafford. Furthermore, it is believed United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, is keen on signing Newcastle United left-back Lewis Hall.  On Sunday, Fabrizio Romano claimed that United have been in contact with Hall’s representatives in the past two to three days. Newcastle, however, are thought to be reluctant to sell the England left-back. Official: Man United set pulses racing with blockbuster announcement ahead of next season

Manchester United have made an exciting announcement ahead of the start of next season. Announcement United have released a statement, confirming that they have agreed a deal with Amazon Prime, granting behind-the-scenes access for an upcoming All or Nothing documentary. The club says that Prime Video will follow the team as they look ahead to playing Champions League football next season after a two-year absence. Viewers will receive unprecedented access to United, offering a look at the dressing room dynamics and how the club fares under Michael Carrick, who was given the permanent job following a successful interim spell. It is poised to launch in the summer 2027 in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. All or Nothing: Manchester United will be available to Prime members at no additional cost. Filming kicks off this summer. The series follows in the footsteps of previous successful All or Nothing editions, including those on Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, and Manchester City. According to Nathan Salt of the Daily Mail, the Red Devils have negotiated a record fee from Prime Video compared to any other All or Nothing documentary. Understand #mufc have negotiated a RECORD fee from Prime Video compared to any other “All or Nothing” documentary. Filming to begin in pre season… 💰 — Nathan Salt (@NathSalt1) June 15, 2026 The Athletic reveal that United had held talks with Amazon but then-manager Ruben Amorim was against the idea, believing it would have been a disruptive influence. Amazon put forward an offer of over £10 million, a figure that would have set a new record as the largest payment made by the platform to any club. However, following the team’s turnaround under Carrick, who is seen as a more level-headed presence, the documentary can now proceed. Reactions Tara Erer, Head of UK Film and Unscripted Television and Northern European Originals, said, “Manchester United is more than a football club: it is a global phenomenon. All or Nothing: Manchester United was a story we had to tell.” “From Old Trafford to every corner of the world, there is no club that commands this level of passion, history and obsession. That is exactly the kind of story we want to tell, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring it to customers everywhere.” Manchester United Chief Communications Officer, Toby Craig, stated, “Now is the right time to open our doors, so that for the first time our fans around the world can see behind the scenes of a club which means so much to so many people.” “This documentary will showcase Manchester United’s unique people, ambition and culture; from the iconic atmosphere at Old Trafford to the work that goes on behind the scenes every day at Carrington.” “We will share some of the stories of this historic club both with our fans and new audiences around the world as we compete at the highest level, both domestically and in the Champions League.” Featured image Carl Recine via Getty Images The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade. “Here we go”: Fabrizio Romano confirms Amorim will take charge of Euro giants, sets up spicy United reunion

Former Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is set to become the next head coach of Serie A giants AC Milan, the reliable Fabrizio Romano has confirmed. New adventure Over the past few days, rumours surfaced that Amorim was in talks with Milan over potentially replacing Massimiliano Allegri, who was sacked after a poor 2025/26 season in which the club missed out on Champions League football. Amorim has been out of work since January, when he was dismissed by United after an extremely turbulent 14-month spell. Milan explored a number of different candidates including Andoni Iraola and Oliver Glasner, but opted to advance talks with Amorim’s camp. Now, Romano has announced that an agreement is in place for the Portuguese coach to become the next Milan gaffer. According to Romano on X, ” BREAKING: Rúben Amorim to AC Milan as new head coach, HERE WE GO!” “Verbal agreement done on deal valid until June 2028 plus option until June 2029.” “Amorim has accepted all conditions and will sign this week as new Milan manager.” 🚨🔴⚫️ BREAKING: Rúben Amorim to AC Milan as new head coach, HERE WE GO! 🇵🇹 Verbal agreement done on deal valid until June 2028 plus option until June 2029. United stint Amorim was appointed by United in November 2024 after Erik ten Hag’s departure. He arrived to much hype, fanfare and expectations, but his spell was underwhelming to say the least. He led the Red Devils to a 15th-placed finish and a Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur. United struggled to attain consistent performances and results as he went about trying to implement his controversial 3-4-2-1 system. Despite calls for him to modify in an effort to accommodate the crop of players at his disposal, he stubbornly stuck to his principles. His bust-up with the hierarchy and in particular director of football Jason Wilcox, ultimately sealed his fate. Amorim oversaw 63 games at United. He won 24, drew 18 and lost 21. His win rate stands at a measly 38.1%. He is set to face his old club in pre-season, with Milan due to take on United in Wroclaw, Poland on 15 August, a week before the Premier League begins.
