Manchester United are reportedly set for a massive disappointment after the latest update on the situation of Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi. United interest Following confirmation of their qualification for next season’s Champions League, United are bracing for a busy summer transfer window. Bolstering the midfield department is expected to be the top priority but other positions could come into play, with the club in need of a larger squad ahead of the increased workload. The future of Joshua Zirkzee is shrouded in uncertainty amidst his struggles for playing time this term. If the Dutchman departs, United could be forced to dip into the market for a striker. United are also believed to be in the market for a left-sided attacker. One option that has cropped up in recent weeks is Kroupi. The 19-year-old forward has risen to prominence as one of the Premier League’s most highly sought-after young players, courtesy of a spectacular breakout season. Having arrived from Lorient in a bargain £10 million deal last summer, Kroupi has adapted to English football with remarkable ease. He has bagged an impressive 12 goals so far, becoming the highest-scoring teenager in Premier League history in a debut campaign. Two of those goals have come against United, with the teenager finding the net in both the home and away fixtures, each of which ended in a draw. There have been suggestions that Kroupi could be sold for around £60m. In addition to United, he also continues to be linked with Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain. More recently, a report coverd by The Peoples Person relayed that United are prepared to start the bidding for Kroupi at £52m. However, according to The i Paper, Bournemouth have made it clear that Kroupi will not be sold under any circumstances. Kroupi update The i Paper say that Kroupi is not for sale at any price this summer. With Bournemouth pushing for Europe, the club is keen to keep hold of its best players as new boss Marco Rose aims to make an immediate impact at the Vitality Stadium. The news outlet adds, “Crucially, The i Paper understands that there is no release clause in the contract Kroupi signed when he moved to England from Lorient for £10m in February last year.” “That gives Bournemouth control over Kroupi’s future as they ponder a new contract to reflect his stellar debut season. The earliest a transfer would be considered is the summer of 2027 – and then the value would be £100m plus, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs expected to join the chase if his progress continues at its current rate.” It’s understood that Bournemouth have been left bemused by reports that Kroupi, described as a generational talent by teammate Marcus Tavernier, is valued at £60m. The i Paper also write that Kroupi is happy and settled at his current side, hinting that he may not necessarily be looking to swap clubs. It remains to be seen whether these latest developments put United off or if the club will still attempt to tempt Bournemouth with an offer. Ex-United star seemingly confirms dressing room slap rumours in fresh statement as club struggles deepen

Former Manchester United defender Alvaro Carreras has issued a statement, seemingly confirming rumours that he was slapped by a Real Madrid teammate, even as his problems in the Spanish capital intensify. Woes escalate Carreras has endured a turbulent spell since joining Real Madrid from Benfica last summer. He made a promising start, yet in recent months, he has been destabilised by a number of problems. His future has been the subject of intense speculation amidst his declining performances and off-the-pitch troubles. Having lost his place in the starting XI under interim boss Alvaro Arbeloa, it’s said that Madrid are unhappy with the ex-United man’s attitude. Adding to the turmoil, it has been widely claimed that Carreras was involved in a dressing-room incident with teammate Antonio Rudiger, who allegedly slapped him across the face during a heated confrontation. This reportedly happened just hours after the Madrid squad enjoyed a team-building dinner designed to boost morale ahead of their pursuit of the La Liga title. Now, Carreras has broken his silence on social media regarding the incident, while also addressing the suggestion that he is not fully committed to Los Blancos. Carreras’ statement The Spaniard wrote, “In recent days, certain insinuations and comments about me have emerged that do not correspond to reality.” “My commitment to this club and to the coaches I’ve had has been unwavering since day one, and it will continue to be so. Since I returned, I have always worked with the highest level of professionalism, respect, and dedication.” “I have fought very hard to fulfill my dream of returning home.” “Regarding the incident with a teammate, it was an isolated matter without importance that has already been resolved. My relationship with the entire team is very good.” “¡Hala Madrid!” (Photo courtesy of Alvaro Carreras’ Instagram) Carreras signed for United from Madrid’s youth academy in September 2020, arriving at the same time as Alejandro Garnacho. United warded off stiff competition from the likes of Barcelona and Manchester City to land him. While at Old Trafford, he was a regular fixture in the youth teams and often trained with the senior squad. Despite loan spells at Preston North End, Granada and Benfica, as well as being included in matchday squads, Carreras never made his competitive first-team debut for United. United battling PL rivals for powerful South American defender available for £35m – report
Manchester United may have tied Harry Maguire down to a new deal, but that has not stopped them from considering succession plans for the backline. The English defender’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of this season, but he has signed a new one-year extension, with the option of an additional 12 months. Maguire has been in superb form of late and has been one of the key players under caretaker manager Michael Carrick. However, the veteran defender is already in the twilight of his career, so the Red Devils are looking for a long-term replacement. The English giants have broadened their scouting network in recent times and are regularly monitoring talents from across the world. Their target is to identify and sign the next promising footballer before he has reached his peak and mould him into a world-beater. That strategy has seen them secure the services of some very impressive talents from across the world. It now appears that they have unearthed the next gem from South America. United monitoring Joel Ordonez According to TEAMtalk, United are among the clubs keeping a close eye on Joel Ordonez, although Chelsea are showing the most interest in the defender. The report states: “Chelsea stepped up their long-term interest in Joel Ordonez over the weekend, with TEAMtalk able to reveal club scouts were in attendance in Brussels to watch him in action.” “Our sources indicate that Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham and Aston Villa have all been closely monitoring Ordonez in recent months as they assess defensive targets ahead of the summer window.” “In terms of his playing style, Ordonez is described as a powerful presence, whose outstanding pace and reading of the game makes him an attractive proposition for suitors.” The report goes on to state that a deal is likely to cost £35 million, adding: “The defender, who will reportedly cost €40m (£35m, $47m), has played 42 times in all competitions this season, scoring four goals.” Who is Joel Ordonez? Ordonez spent his formative years at Independiente del Valle before joining Club Brugge in 2022. The Ecuadorian defender was initially assigned to the reserves before breaking into the senior side the following year and has since cemented his place in the starting XI. Of his 42 appearances for the Belgian club this season, all but three have been starts, signifying Ordonez’s importance to the team. He is under contract until 2029 but could end his stay in the Jupiler Pro League this year. The 22 year old’s attributes make him a fine addition to United’s defensive department, but INEOS will have to step up their efforts if they wish to beat Chelsea in this race. Final Thoughts The Red Devils already have Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven in their squad, but the recent injury troubles of Lisandro Martinez and Matthijs de Ligt justify a move for Ordonez. United have conceded 48 goals in 35 Premier League games this season, with only Bournemouth letting in more among the top-ten teams of the league table. The backline needs reinforcements this summer and securing the Ecuadorian could prove to be a smart bit of business in the long run. United Women star has been given prestigious award after CL heroics
Manchester United Women have had a disappointing end to the season. Season decline Marc Skinner’s side spent most of the season in second place in the league and reached their first ever League Cup final in March. Sadly, they lost 0-2 to Chelsea and were also knocked out of the FA Cup by the same opponents. United also made it to the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Bayern Munich but lost bravely to the Bavarians. The Red Devils have also fallen out of the Champions League spots for next season and would need Arsenal to drop a miraculous number of points between now and the end of the season to have a sniff of finishing in the top three. Melvine Malard One player who has not stopped performing in the last months of the season is French star Melvine Malard. The club’s official website has reported, “Melvine Malard has been named Manchester United Women’s Player of the Month for April.” The site continues to explain that, “the French forward was picked by the majority of supporters voting in the United App poll, for her efforts during the team’s two matches across the month, away to Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur.” She received a solid 50% of the vote, with goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce receiving 31% of the vote and Canadian full back Jayde Riviere, 19%. Malard scored United’s only goal in the Allianz Arena after pouncing on a big mistake by the Bayern defence to give United the lead and hope of making it through to the final four before that was dashed by two late goals. The award has been won four times by Jess Park this season, twice by Elisabeth Terland, and once by Phallon Tullis-Joyce and Maya Le Tissier. Malard will likely be in action for the final time this season when United travel to London on Saturday afternoon to face Chelsea in the last Women’s Super League match of the season. Kobbie Mainoo’s heroics versus Liverpool keeps alive another stunning record for prestigious Carrington

Last week was quite a week for Manchester United star Kobbie Mainoo. Renaissance After spending 12 months out in the cold under Ruben Amorim, Mainoo has once again established himself as a key figure under Michael Carrick. Reports suggested that the midfielder was close to leaving Manchester United in recent months, with SSC Napoli, Arsenal and Chelsea all very interested in his services. Fortunately for United, he stayed, and his performances have sky-rocketed in recent months. He was outstanding against Brentford on Monday of last week and then signed a new long-term deal at the club just under a week ago. Mainoo marked this with another impressive outing versus arch-rivals Liverpool, capping it all off with the match-winner in front of the Stretford End on Sunday afternoon. Greater significance The youngster’s goal already carried great significance as it helped secure United’s place in the Champions League next season. What’s more, it sealed a first league double over Liverpool in a decade. There was even more meaning to the beautiful strike, though, as the club’s official website has pointed out. The site states, “a homegrown product has scored in every season” since the post-War era (1945). This record was in huge jeopardy entering the final month of the season, but Mainoo’s brilliance has kept the streak alive for another season. The likes of Sir Bobby Charlton and Ryan Giggs contributed massively to this run over the years, with Sammy McIlroy bridging the gap between the two players. The website states that the record was probably most at risk in the 2014–2015 season, but James Wilson’s goal against Queens Park Rangers saved the day. With talented attackers like JJ Gabriel, Chido Odi, Shea Lacey and Kai Rooney coming through the academy, this record will hopefully be safe for many years to come. The club is also known for the highly impressive streak of having an academy player in every matchday squad since 1937. United now eyeing move to sign 19-yo sensation after major U-turn, he will be their fastest player – report

Manchester United ditched a 3-4-2-1 system with three centre-backs following the departure of Ruben Amorim at the turn of the year. This development initially shifted United’s focus from targeting more central defenders to full-backs, as Michael Carrick re-introduced the 4-2-3-1 system at Old Trafford. However, INEOS may be forced to address both areas, with the club’s recruitment team considering bringing in another defender. Manchester United eyeing Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh According to journalist Paddy Keogh, a move for a centre-back was not an option until April, as Manchester United felt comfortable with having Leny Yoro, Ayden Heaven, Lisandro Martinez, and Matthijs de Ligt at their disposal. However, injury worries over Martinez and De Ligt have changed United’s stance. The Argentina international has made just 10 starts this term, and the Dutchman last played for the Red Devils in November. He is not expected to feature again this campaign. The Premier League giants have extended Harry Maguire‘s contract after nearly letting him leave and are now looking to bulk up their options without making a considerable investment. 🚨 Man Utd are still closely watching Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh The 19yo Tromsø CB is a cheap high-upside option this summer amid injury concerns over Martínez & de Ligt. AC Milan have enquired, with Chelsea & Leipzig also interested. One to watch. (@PaddyKeoghAF) #MUFC pic.twitter.com/ChisObZqKU — Attacking Football (@AttackingFooty) May 5, 2026 It is claimed United are closely watching Tromsø prodigy Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh, who “could be a cheap high-upside” defensive addition this summer. The 19-year-old Gambian is thought to be valued at £4.3m and is also being chased by Chelsea, AC Milan and RB Leipzig after impressing with his consistent performances in Norway. Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh is frighteningly quick The 6’1″ tall defender is a unicorn profile of sorts, boasting a massive frame and lightning pace, having clocked a top speed of over 37 km/h this season. At United, Bryan Mbeumo is currently the fastest player with an electric top speed of 36.4km/h. The figure also makes Sedi Kinteh as quick as Tottenham Hotspur’s “speed machine” Micky van de Ven. Interestingly, Keogh adds that United are also extensively monitoring Van de Ven, Toulouse star Charlie Cresswell, SC Braga’s Bright Arrey-Mbi, and Sporting CP sensation Ousmane Diomande. Sedi Kinteh is not the most exciting name on the list, but his price tag and profile certainly make him a very appealing target. United to launch another raid of PL rivals to continue remodelling of prestigious academy – report
Manchester United have prioritised the academy in recent years under Ineos’ stewardship. Focus The Red Devils have spent significant sums trying to bring in some of the most exciting players at youth level. Ayden Heaven and Chido Obi were plucked from Arsenal’s academy. Sekou Kone, Diego Leon and Cristian Orozco have also been signed from abroad to enhance the strength of the academy. This has resulted in strong performances, with the under-21s progressing to the semi-final of the playoffs against Manchester City. The under-18s have also reached the final of the prestigious FA Youth Cup, where they will again face City next week. Continued restructuring United have also been restructuring at the decision-making level, as Darren Hughes was poached from Manchester City as a coach to work under academy head Stephen Torpey. The Daily Mail reports that United are not yet done in reshaping their academy team. The paper states that, “United have launched another raid on Newcastle’s academy in a bid to strengthen their recruitment operation.” The Red Devils had made an offer for Newcastle’s head of youth recruitment, Paul Midgley, in December but he turned down the role. The Daily Mail is now stating that the club “have headhunted their Premier League rivals’ lead youth technical scout Harvey Busby to fill the role of lead national scout at Carrington.” Were he to accept the role, it is thought he would be in charge of the under-14 to under-16 age group. The Red Devils also famously enticed former sporting director Dan Ashworth away from Newcastle in 2024, but he only lasted a matter of months at the club before being replaced by Jason Wilcox. United agree £38m summer deal as sporting director makes stunning announcement – report
Manchester United have agreed their first major deal of the summer, as per the latest reports. Rasmus Hojlund, who joined Napoli on loan last summer, is all set to stay at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona after agreeing a new long-term deal with the Italian giants. The defending Serie A champions had the option of turning the Dane’s loan move permanent in case they qualified for the Champions League. According to The Daily Mirror, Gli Azzurri have confirmed their intention of keeping the United misfit, with the Red Devils set to earn £38 million from the sale. Rasmus Hojlund to stay at Napoli Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna was quoted as saying: “There are no doubts. Rasmus will stay here. “We have an obligation to buy from Manchester United, in case of Champions League access, but he is in our plans regardless of this condition.” While a few former United players feel it would be a loss for the 20-time English league champions to lose the Denmark international, the harsh truth is that he was simply not ready for the step up in quality. Signed from Atalanta for a mammoth £76 million in 2023, the 23-year-old struggled massively during his two-year spell at Old Trafford. Rasmus Hojlund not good enough for United In his debut campaign, the centre-forward netted 16 times across all competitions before imploding in his sophomore season in the English top flight. A mere 10 goals, including only four in the Premier League, and consistent below-par displays meant United had no choice but to cut him loose. Ideally, he should have been the backup striker or at least had support in the form of an experienced head alongside him, and the Old Trafford side failed him in that regard. But Benjamin Sesko has proved himself in a short span of time, which makes it even more apparent what a mistake it was for the club to sign the former FC Copenhagen ace. For Napoli, Rasmus Hojlund has scored 14 goals in all competitions, with the club in second, behind Inter Milan. His sale will help United massively as they look to spend big in the summer after qualifying for the Champions League.
