Furious travelling fans made Rashford feelings clear amid rumours of blockbuster exit

    furious-travelling-fans-made-rashford-feelings-clear-amid-rumours-of-blockbuster-exit

Marcus Rashford was booed by his own fans when he was substituted in Manchester United’s 2-1 Europa League win at Viktoria Plzen.

The Englishman’s stock amongst United supporters is at rock bottom, and some of the travelling Red Army made their feelings crystal clear in the Czech Republic last night, as per the Manchester Evening News.

Despite scoring three goals since Ruben Amorim took the reins last month, Rashford’s body language has been consistently shocking.

The forward appears dejected and disinterested for much of his time on the pitch, even in Amorim’s first game in charge when the forward put his boyhood side ahead after 80 seconds at Ipswich Town.

It was the same story at the Doosan Arena, and as he left the pitch on 56 minutes to be replaced by match-winner Rasmus Hojlund boos were heard echoing from the away end.

The Englishman did not acknowledge Amorim as he left the pitch, unlike Tyrell Malacia and Joshua Zirkzee who made way five minutes later.

Hojlund spared United’s blushes with an excellent brace, pouncing with a poacher’s instinct to snatch an equaliser before securing three points with a well-taken finish two minutes from time.

And while the young Dane’s high-energy performances may not always yield such good results, they endear him to supporters who can see his hunger to succeed.

That’s in stark contrast to Rashford, for whom many fans’ patience seems to have finally run out.

Negativity around players and managers is rife online, but generally the match-going United faithful look to get behind the team no matter what.

But Rashford, who has arguably been on thin ice for over a year, was certainly on their bad side last night. He has been here before, notably when he was substituted during last season’s home Manchester derby and the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City.

Things feel different this time around, though, with the Carrington graduate seemingly no longer untouchable and with a radical squad shake-up on the cards.

Moreover, Rashford – who has always been seen as United through-and-through – is said to be fed up and ready to quit Old Trafford.

United are thought to have slapped a £40m price tag on the 27-year-old, who should be in his prime but is chronically underperforming, and could sell as early as January.

Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with the player in the past, but reports surfaced earlier this week that Barcelona are interested in signing him.

United now “big favourites” for top target after making an “irresistible offer” – report

      united-now-“big-favourites”-for-top-target-after-making-an-“irresistible-offer”-–-report

Manchester United are reportedly clear favourites to sign Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez after making him an incredible financial offer.

The Red Devils are on the hunt for a left back as both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia have suffered immensely from serious injuries over the last season and a half.

United have been linked to numerous left backs such as former player Alvaro Fernandez Carreras, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Milos Kerkez.

The side from Old Trafford have been regularly linked to Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez over the last few months and it has been reported that the Spaniard has now asked to leave the club.

Reports from Spain via F365 now claim that United have taken a big lead in the race for the talented 23 year old.

They report that Ruben Amorim’s search for a left wing back to fit into his 3-4-3 formation has led him to the doors of the Catalan club.

Allegedly, United “have already started the first contacts for him to leave Girona, and the conversations would be really advanced for him to end up in the Premier League in January.”

Numerous teams such as Real Madrid, Chelsea, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Manchester City are said to be keen on the player but it is United who right now are “the big favourites.”

Amorim’s side have supposedly turned the player’s head with an “irresistible” financial offer.

Interestingly, they also claim that the Red Devils have “also guaranteed Miguel that he will be an undisputed starter, and that he will have a very ambitious project at Old Trafford.”

The reports also claim that whilst his release clause is €35 million, United “can pay without any problem”, despite it being a “significant” amount.

Gutierrez would certainly add a whole new attacking dimension to United’s left hand side and would likely fit the all-action style of fullback that Amorim is searching for.

Moreover, whilst United have their own financial restrictions with PSR, €35 million for one of their top targets in a position of such importance in Amorim’s system, would surely represent good value for money.

Man Utd star brutally told to quit club amid Arsenal transfer talk: ‘If you don’t enjoy, leave’

        man-utd-star-brutally-told-to-quit-club-amid-arsenal-transfer-talk:-‘if-you-don’t-enjoy,-leave’

Man Utd forward Marcus Rashford has been told to quit the Red Devils if he isn’t enjoying himself by former Premier League boss Gordon Strachan.

The Red Devils have not been having a good time in the Premier League this season with new boss Ruben Amorim struggling to turn around their inconsistent form.

New head coach Amorim has drawn one, won one and lost two of his first four Premier League games in charge of the club with Man Utd currently 13th in the Premier League table.

Only Everton, Southampton, Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town have scored fewer goals than Man Utd this season with Rashford scoring four, new signing Joshua Zirkzee on three and Rasmus Hojlund on two in the league.

And there are rumours that Man Utd are looking to sell Rashford in the next two transfer windows as they look to raise funds to bring in reinforcements.

Rashford has looked a shadow of the player that scored 30 goals in all competitions in the 2022/23 campaign with the Man Utd forward often appearing disinterested.

And now former Man Utd midfielder Strachan has told Rashford to “leave” Old Trafford if he doesn’t “enjoy it at the club”.

Strachan told Gambling Zone: “Well, that’s one of the problems that Man United have – we’ve just got to hold our breath for Marcus Rashford to play well.

“And we’ve just got to go through this again every season where we’ve got to hope Marcus gets better. ‘I hope he starts smiling and I hope he starts enjoying the game.’ Do me a favour. If you don’t enjoy it at the club, leave. Just leave and then we can all get on with it. You’re a good footballer, son.

“As Man United fans, do you want to just keep waiting for Marcus to do well? I think that conversation should be moved on now and just put away. You either want to play or you don’t want to play. Do me a favour, if you’re not enjoying it, do something else then.”

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy thinks Rashford should be doing better for his ability and he reckons the Man Utd forward could be of use to Arsenal.

Murphy told talkSPORT: “He should be doing more for the talent he’s got. I think we’ve already seen the best of Marcus Rashford but he’s capable of getting to that level again.

“I think [new United manager] Ruben Amorim is capable of doing that. I think the scenario of him going is unrealistic, I think he will stay and Amorim will get more out of him.

“He had one world-class season, his numbers were superb. With the ability he’s got, I think he’s capable of more.

“He’s been at a club for a long time but the managerial situation has never been stable, there’s been a lot of change.

“If he was in a better team, a more successful team, under a more competent manager than some we’ve seen at United, we might have seen a different outcome.

“He has wonderful attributes but his biggest problem is the perception. He looks down on himself, slumped.”

When suggested by a fan that he could move to Arsenal, Murphy added: “You know what, you never know for sure but playing in a team that’s so settled and so confident and competent, there is a case that his end product would get much better, because Arsenal are really dominant in games.

“You could argue that [Gabriel] Martinelli has been a bit hot and cold… There would be some people who would take Rashford over Martinelli.”

Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole could also see Rashford at Arsenal, he told TNT Sports: “I’ll throw one in for you. Reports today Marcus Rashford may be moved on. He would be a hell of a signing, because that’s where they’ve got to shop now Arsenal, on the left side.

“They’ve got to shop [for] the very, very top players to improve this Arsenal team.”

Man Utd: Amorim responds to Man City, Viana links as he defends one Red Devils star

          man-utd:-amorim-responds-to-man-city,-viana-links-as-he-defends-one-red-devils-star

Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim insists he didn’t have any contact with Man City before he agreed to become the new Red Devils manager.

Amorim has started his time at Old Trafford with one draw, one win and two losses in his first four Premier League matches, while he has won his two Europa League games in charge.

Man Utd face Man City in the Manchester Derby on Sunday hoping to climb up the Premier League table with Amorim’s side currently 13th.

Before joining Man Utd, there were rumours Man City had made contact over potentially lining up Amorim if Pep Guardiola left at the end of the season.

In the end Guardiola signed a new contract and Amorim arrived at Old Trafford – but the Portuguese coach insiststhere was no conversations with Man City or compatriot Hugo Viana, who will become the new director of football at the Etihad Stadium next season.

Amorim told a pre-match press conference on Friday: “Never, I never had [conversations]. This was my only option.

“When Manchester United talked to me, I have no doubts because I had already something in my mind that it could be a possibility. And with Manchester City or Hugo Viana, nothing about that.”

When asked if he feels his side will face a weaker Man City at the weekend, the Man Utd boss replied: “No, no. The great teams can respond at any moment. And I think they are in a better place than us in the type of understanding the game, the way they play, the confidence they have.

“Even in these kind of moments, we have a lot to focus on our team. So our focus is total of course, we will have a strategy: try to win the game with the strategy like it should be. But we are focused just on our team.”

Andre Onana has made a couple of mistakes in the Red Devils’ last couple of fixtures and when asked if he was concerned about his form heading into such a big game, Amorim said: “Yeah we have to take it like it is. He had already, in the past, a situation like that. So we have to work on this.

“If you see the play, we are trying to build up a lot with the goalkeeper making the balls with Matta [Matthijs de Ligt] a lot of times.

“This time, we have a disconnect a little bit during the play and, when we try this, we suffered a goal, a difficult goal for us in the start of the second half. But we managed today, not like against Nottingham [Forest]. We managed to help Onana, like he did in the past for us.”

When asked about team news and whether Jonny Evans will be fit, Amorim continued: “I don’t think so. It was five minutes ago, so I have to see it.

“But no, just some players were tired in the end, you could see it, also because of the transitions, it was a crazy game in the end today. But I think everyone is going to be fit and ready to win the game. [Jonny?] Yeah, he’s training already.”

United expected to sign €50m-rated Spaniard ahead of Barcelona, Amorim knows the player – report

            united-expected-to-sign-e50m-rated-spaniard-ahead-of-barcelona,-amorim-knows-the-player-–-report

Manchester United are expected to beat Barcelona in the transfer race for Alvaro Carreras.

The Spain U21 international has enjoyed a reversal in fortune over the last 12 months. Early this year, United sent him on loan to Benfica and showed little faith in his talents by handing the Portuguese club an option to sign him permanently for a meagre fee of around €6m.

At Benfica, Carreras quickly impressed the club bosses, who exercised the option. Further, he has now cemented his place in Bruno Lage’s starting lineup.

The Peoples Person recently relayed a report which detailed the ex-United star’s growth, stating: “… Spanish left-back has become fundamental in both attacking and defending and is the greatest work of individual transformation by Benfica’s manager.”

This transformation has seemingly also sparked a transfer battle between top European sides for his services.

Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid monitor Alvaro Carreras

According to A Bola (via Sport Witness), Benfica need to take the Barca and Real Madrid links very seriously, as the two Spanish powerhouses will continue to follow the left-back.

The Portuguese newspaper also warns the Catalan outfit about the threat from United, who have also been strongly linked with a move for their former academy star.

It is stated that ex-Sporting boss Ruben Amorim knows the player from his time in Portugal.

Further, United supposedly have the upper hand over Barca in the battle for the 21-year-old and at this stage, it is believed a return to Old Trafford is likelier.

The Mancunians are considered to be in the driving seat as they have a €20m buyback clause. Meanwhile, other suitors will have to spend a fee in the region of €50m to secure the Benfica star’s signature.

Amid concerns over Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia’s fitness, United should try to make the most of this advantage.

Carreras’s creative instincts make him a suitable fit for the left-sided wing-back role in Amorim’s 3-4-3 format.

Man Utd make ‘offer’ that is ‘impossible to refuse’ as £29m transfer is ‘really advanced’

              man-utd-make-‘offer’-that-is-‘impossible-to-refuse’-as-29m-transfer-is-‘really-advanced’

Man Utd have made an offer that is ‘impossible to refuse’ for Girona defender Miguel Gutierrez ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports.

The Red Devils are having a terrible start to the new season with their 3-2 loss at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday their six Premier League loss of the season.

Man Utd are currently 13th in the Premier League table after 15 matches and have only managed to score 19 times, winning five of those fixtures.

Erik ten Hag was sacked after winning three of their opening nine fixtures this term, while new head coach Ruben Amorim has struggled to show much improvement with a draw, one win and two losses from his first four Premier League matches.

Reports have claimed that Marcus Rashford and other Man Utd players are up for sale in January as the Red Devils look to give themselves room to bring in new signings over the next couple of transfer windows.

And now reports in Spain claim that Man Utd are now ‘big favourites’ to sign Girona left-back Gutierrez after ‘presenting him with an offer that is impossible to refuse from a financial point of view’.

The Spaniard has a release clause of €35m (£29m) which Man Utd will ‘pay without any problem’ and Girona ‘cannot compete with the power of the English team’.

Amorim ‘considers the arrival of a specialist for the left wing to be a priority, and the option that seems to convince him the most’ is Gutierrez and ‘conversations are really advanced for him to end up in the Premier League in January’.

Man Utd face Man City in the Manchester Derby on Sunday with both teams struggling in the Premier League in recent weeks and former Red Devils defender Wes Brown has joked that the Citizens will be “the underdog” over the weekend.

Brown told 10bet: “I’m not sure how this one is going to go, I mean, Man City are obviously going to be the underdog (joking).

“Listen, I’ve always felt that over the last few games, we’ve always turned up a little bit, especially away from home. Will this be the lift off for Ruben’s revolution? It’s definitely an occasion where we could really turn it on. Obviously, we would have been training a lot more, the players should be more familiar with what he wants now, so for this game, you never know.

“I think Amorim might pick what he thinks is his best 11 for this game. He’s had a few weeks to look at his options and assess his players. It’s going to be very interesting.

“I think City will be better for this one, but Amorim would have been watching their games and he will know where United can get at them.

“It’s a derby. Previously, I would expect City to dominate the ball, but with the way they’re playing at the moment, you just don’t know.

“United have definitely got a chance to go there and win. City have been really sloppy lately. It’s definitely an opportunity for us, and I think all the pressure is on City as well.”

“Never, never”: Amorim says he never considered joining Manchester City, only ever wanted United

                “never,-never”:-amorim-says-he-never-considered-joining-manchester-city,-only-ever-wanted-united

Ruben Amorim says he never had any discussions about joining City ahead of the Manchester derby on Sunday.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the game, the United head coach said:

“Never. Never heard from them and this was my only option. When United talked to me I had no doubts. I had already something in my mind that could be a possibility. With Manchester City or Viana? Nothing about that.

On whether he was looking forward to the game, he said:

“We will face a great opponent and I’m more focused on our problems. So we have a lot of issues here, so I’m more focused on what we should do on Sunday to win the game. So I’m really focused on my team.

“This should be two great teams fighting for the title, but it isn’t. Both teams are struggling in the moment, so I hope, in the future, I feel that real feeling of a derby. But I know that it’s really important for our fans. But my goal now is to improve the team, win games and I will try to win this game.”

Asked how he makes his side run, he said: “it’s transitions. So tell them to run and which kind of positions they must have when the ball is in our box, so try to make some targets during some games. Teach them to press.

“I think they are improving and if you see the transitions you can see that we are improving on the speed at which we move. And if you see the transitions, you see that I think we are improving on the speed. Sometimes, we cannot do it still, but we are trying and I can feel it in the team.”

“The great teams can respond at any moment. And I think they are in a better place than us in the type of understanding the game, the way they play, the confidence they have.

“Even in this kind of moments, we have a lot to focus on in our team. Our focus is totally… of course we have a strategy to try to win the game with the strategy like it should be. But we are focused just on our team.”

Amorim was asked if he was concerned about Andre Onana’s form after mistakes from the keeper in two consecutive matches.

“If you see the play we are trying to build up a lot with the goalkeeper making the bounce [pass] with Matta [De Ligt]. This time we have a disconnect a little bit during the play. And when we try this we suffered a goal. A difficult goal for us in the end of the second half.

“But we managed today, not like against Nottingham. We managed to help Onana. Like he did in the past for us.”

Amorim also confirmed that Jonny Evans was back in training and available for selection.

Football guru Fabrizio Romano has issued his famous “here we go!” to confirm Manchester United’s capture of Diego León from Cerro Porteno in Paraguay.

Reports emerged that a deal had been struck a few days ago but it later appeared that there were some last-minute details to iron out.

But according to Romano, the deal is now done, and at a price lower than initially reported.

“Manchester United reach verbal agreement to sign 17 year old Paraguayan left back Diego León from Cerro Porteno, here we go!” the guru posted on X.

“Initial fee will be $4m plus $1m easy add-ons and over $3.5m based on player’s/team future performances.

“Diego León will arrive in July 2025.”

The left back turns 18 on April 3rd, meaning United cannot sign him before the summer.

Romano further claims the starlet is set to visit Carrington and Old Trafford in the near future as he gets to know his new home.

The signing will probably be the first of the Ruben Amorim era and very much in keeping with Ineos’ policy of signing the world’s best young talent in the raw.

Left back has become a problem position for United with the ongoing injury issues dogging Luke Shaw.

Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui have all had to cover the position in Shaw’s absence, with Tyrell Malacia now the only natural left back in the squad.

Whether United intend to throw Leon straight into the first team squad or whether he will spend time in the academy, or out on loan, remains to be seen.

Leon has played 19 games this season in the Paraguayan Premier League, scoring two goals.

Owen makes Man City vs Man Utd prediction and makes ‘absolutely petrified’ claim

                    owen-makes-man-city-vs-man-utd-prediction-and-makes-‘absolutely-petrified’-claim

Michael Owen thinks it will be the “first time in a long time” that Man Utd fans “aren’t absolutely petrified” to face Man City in the derby on Sunday.

The Citizens have been having a terrible time over the past month or two with Pep Guardiola’s side winning just one match in their last ten fixtures in all competitions.

That has put defending champions Man City fourth in the Premier League table with Guardiola’s men eight points behind leaders Liverpool, who also have a game in hand.

Man Utd, meanwhile, are having a terrible season with the Red Devils sacking Erik ten Hag at the end of October as they look to rescue their campaign under new head coach Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese coach has struggled to have a big impact so far with one win in four Premier League matches but Man Utd could face the unusual position of being the most confident side heading into the Manchester Derby on Sunday.

Despite languishing in 13th place in the Premier League table, Owen reckons it will be the first time in ages that Man Utd supporters “aren’t absolutely petrified going into the game” against Man City.

Owen told AceOdds: “I think it’s probably the first time in a long time that Manchester United fans aren’t absolutely petrified going into the game, believing that they might get battered 5-0. Manchester City are unrecognisable at the moment and I can’t imagine how they can beat anyone by five at the moment, the way they’re playing.

“It certainly is a great time to play Manchester City. They’ve got injuries, their lack of form, their confidence is down. It’s probably one of the most finely balanced Derbies.”

“I know it’s at the Etihad and I know Manchester City will be favourites, but I wouldn’t like to put my house on any result. I could easily see Manchester United getting a result, so I think it’s a really difficult one to call.

“It’s probably the hardest derby in years to call, you would say Man City to come out on top but I’m not so sure this time. Anything could happen. I put 1-1 in my predictions because I can’t see where Manchester City are going to get their next win from. I watched them against Crystal Palace the other day. It just feels like they’re not in control of any game at the moment.”
