Therefore, it is no surprise to see so many central midfielders linked with a move to Old Trafford. While neither Scott nor Adams is considered a first choice, they could represent cost-efficient solutions compared to the likes of Elliot Anderson and Sandro Tonali, whose price tags are north of £100 million.A closer look at Alex Scott, Tyler Adams & Eli Junior KroupiA longtime Man Utd target, Scott is a 22-year-old box-to-box midfielder who rose through the ranks of Guernsey and Bristol City, before joining Bournemouth in 2023 for £20 million. He has been called up for England’s first team but has yet to make his bow.On the other hand, Adams operates in a deeper role, mainly as a No.6, making him a more natural replacement for Casemiro. Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadiki has addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding his future, with Manchester United emerging as a potential destination for the player. Sadiki interest Heading into the summer transfer window, United are expected to prioritise bolstering the midfield department. Casemiro is set to leave at the end of the season, while there is also uncertainty over the future of Manuel Ugarte, who has struggled to have an impact since making the switch from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024. There have been suggestions that United could look to bring in as many as three top-class midfielders to ensure there is sufficient depth, ahead of a sensational return to the Champions League. A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United are prepared to spend in excess of £150m on their midfield overhaul. Some of the players the Red Devils continue to be linked to include Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace), Sandro Tonali (Newcastle), Carlos Baleba (Brighton & Hove Albion), Mateus Fernandes (West Ham), Ederson (Atalanta) and Sadiki. ‘ Sadiki has seamlessly transitioned to Premier League football since arriving at Sunderland last summer from Union SG. He has been key to the success Sunderland have enjoyed this term, forming a brilliant partnership with Granit Xhaka in the side’s engine room. United got a first-hand account of just what Sadiki can do over the weekend, when he produced a fine performance to earn the Black Cats a point. He came close to breaking the deadlock in the opening stages of the contest but was denied by a stunning Senne Lammens save. A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Sunderland value the DR Congo international at £45m. Chelsea and Liverpool are also thought to be eyeing the player. Sadiki spoke to Belgian outlet La Dernière Heure after returning to Union last weekend and reflected on his rise in England. He was also questioned on his future amidst rumours of interest from United and other suitors, and he refused to rule out a move. Sadiki’s admission The 21-year-old said, “It is amazing to experience everything that is happening to me now. Everything went so fast: the transfer to England just after the title in Belgium, and then immediately a starter in England.” “I haven’t even had time to really realise what has happened since my departure from Union SG. I talk about Union in England; the English know who they are and couldn’t ignore the performances in the Champions League.” On his future, Sadiki remarked, “My future? I still have two matches to play with Sunderland, then the World Cup, which will be very special for the Congolese people.” “And as for the rest, we’ll see next season when the time is right.” If United truly want Sadiki, they will note his comments and the fact he stopped short of committing his future to Sunderland. One of these options is Ederson, a player who has long been linked to the club. The Brazilian is out of contract next summer and United have been alerted to his availability after a proposed move to Atletico Madrid appears to have stalled. Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are also thought to be admirers of the Atalanta player. A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Ederson is not a main target for United but is seen as a market opportunity. “That’s our challenge”: Fletcher sets out target for his swashbuckling side ahead of Youth Cup showdown with City

Manchester United youngsters have enjoyed another very successful season. Cup finals galore The under-21s have reached the final of the Premier League play-offs after a pulsating 4-3 win over rivals Manchester City. United will now face Brighton & Hove Albion in the final. The under-18s have also been highly impressive and lost the Premier League Cup on penalties to Crystal Palace. They have also dazzled in the prestigious FA Youth Cup and will face Manchester City in the final on 14th May, later this week. Darren Fletcher comments Speaking to the club’s official website, under-18s coach, Darren Fletcher, has spoken about the club’s first Youth Cup final since winning the trophy in 2022. Commenting on the under-18s’ victory over Stoke City at the weekend, Fletcher claimed he was “really impressed” by his side’s ability to overcome the physical nature of the Stoke side. He also explained that he told his side to keep moving the ball to tire out the opposition and that this “came to fruition” in the second half. Reflecting on season Fletcher had high praise for his young side for the season and claimed, “look, they have been fantastic, I think even unlucky in some of the results we have had. We’ve dominated almost every game to be honest with you and the goals conceded column are great but that comes from more ball possession, not giving the opposition the chance to attack us.” He also explained that the whole team helps out defensively and it is a big part of his side’s identity. The one criticism Fletcher had of his side was that they have not been “ruthless enough” in front of goal and he feels they should have put more teams to the sword this season and that is the “lesson of the season.” The Youth Cup final Commenting on the upcoming final against City, Fletcher claimed, “if you take your chances that you create in games, you probably go on and win things. That’s our challenge going into the FA Youth Cup final. The lads have been fantastic and have had really, really good season as individuals.” Reflecting on his first season in charge of the under-18s, he said, “I’ve really enjoyed it because the boys are a pleasure to work with. The staff are a pleasure to work with and I have learnt and grown in terms of my development as a coach. Developing young players is key to this club and it is a real privilege to lead the under-18s and I’m really enjoying working with the players.” Featured image Carl Recine via Getty Images The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade. Former United assistant under Mourinho likely to make stunning switch to PL side this summer – report

Former Manchester United coach Kieran McKenna’s star continues to rise. Since leaving United The Northern Irish coach joined Manchester United in 2016 as under-18 manager. He was promoted to the senior team’s coaching staff in 2018 under Jose Mourinho and remained a key figure under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, alongside current United manager Michael Carrick. McKenna was appointed Ipswich Town manager in 2021 and has worked miracles at the club. The 39-year-old took them from League One to Premier League promotion in 2024. The Tractor Boys struggled to adapt to the top level last season but did secure a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Portman Road. Nonetheless, McKenna guided Ipswich to promotion again this season as they finished the league season in second place and hence secured automatic passage to the riches of the Premier League. Expected departure Nonetheless, The Sun newspaper reports that McKenna may not take charge of the Tractor Boys this season in the Premier League. The paper states that, “McKenna looks increasingly likely to leave Ipswich Town this summer if he is offered another Premier League job.” It is also added that, “the Tractor Boys do not want to lose the man who has led them to three promotions in four seasons.” Despite this, Ipswich are preparing a shortlist of managers in case McKenna is tempted away. Crystal Palace are said to be interested in the Northern Irish manager if they cannot land their top target, Andoni Iraola. Fulham may also be a possible landing spot for McKenna if they decide to part ways with Marco Silva. Chelsea, Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion have all shown interest in McKenna in the past, speaking to him two summers ago, but it looks like Manchester United will not go back in again for their former coach for the time being. Rasmus Hojlund The Napoli president has all but confirmed that they will be signing the Danish striker in the summer. Hojlund has had an up-and-down season with the Italians. He has scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in all competitions. Nonetheless, he has also gone on long stretches without scoring, and his goals have tended to come in clusters. Performance versus Bologna Napoli blew a huge chance to secure Champions League football next season by losing out 2-3 at home to Bologna. The Dane was involved in both Napoli goals, though. For the first, he held the ball up well close to goal, but his pass was deflected. Luckily, from a Napoli perspective, it bounced to Giovanni Di Lorenzo, who fired in. His involvement in the second goal was even more clear-cut, and he grabbed an assist. Hojlund once again showed strength in the box to hold off the Bologna defence and played a neat ball around the corner that was smartly finished by Alisson Santos. The striker had one key pass but failed in both his dribble attempts. He also completed 82% of his passes in the match and carried the ball progressively up the pitch once during the match. Hojlund also came out on top in three of his eight duel attempts against the visitors’ defence. Napoli and Hojlund will have another chance to seal Champions League qualification when they travel to Pisa on Sunday afternoon.
