Late Old Trafford drama sees United beat Rangers 2-1 and take giant stride to last 16 of Europa League

Manchester United grabbed a dramatic winner to beat Rangers 2-1 and gave themselves a tremendous opportunity to qualify automatically for the last 16 of the Europa League.

United started brightly and after just three minutes, Alejandro Garnacho skipped past the Rangers’ right back and unleashed an effort that was easily collected by Jack Butland in the visitors’ goal.

The home side held on to much of the ball but Rangers had their first attack on 9 minutes when Nicolas Raskin ran onto a terrific pass by Hamza Igamane, but his touch was poor and Altay Bayindir was alert to clear the danger.

The Gers came back at United just minutes later and delivered a lovely cross to the back post that Ridvan Yilmaz volleyed directly at Bayindir again, after making space for himself at the back post.

United responded with a couple of corners before Garnacho made space for himself again out left but his shot was wildly fired over.

On 18 minutes, Bruno Fernandes was the next United player to find himself in a dangerous position but he skewed his left-footed shot wide.

Garnacho once again looked a bright spark as he ran at the Rangers defence and after good combination play with Dalot, he fired a shot at goal and it was well deflected by the Rangers’ defence.

From the resulting corner, United had the ball in the back of the net as Matthijs de Ligt powered in a header from close range but it was ruled out as Leny Yoro was harshly judged to have fouled the Gers’ defender in the run up to the goal.

The game drifted a little but came to life in the 36th minute when a beautifully disguised ball by Bruno Fernandes put Amad in one-on-one but he fired right at Butland with his right foot.

The Scottish side came right back however, as Hamza Igamane fired from range, but Bayindir was equal to it as he pushed it around the post for a corner.

United kept the ball well for a bit and Lisandro Martinez stepped up and had a fierce shot that was well saved by the keeper.

The half-time whistle blew with the game still at 0-0 and the away fans would have certainly been happier with their team’s first half display and the home fans cursing another refereeing decision against their team.

Harry Maguire came on for the second half to replace De Ligt as the game got underway once more.

Just two minutes in, Amad combined well with Eriksen and played a dangerous ball across the Rangers’ goal but it was well cleared for a corner.

In a regular theme of the game, Rangers raced up the other end and a cross was met by Bailey Rice who volleyed the ball well over after leaning back.

On 52 minutes, United thought they had finally found the breakthrough as Garnacho played the ball across the goal and Fernandes’ shot was deflected just over the bar.

Just one minute later Amorim’s side finally got their noses in front. A Christian Eriksen corner was incredibly punched into his own net by former United keeper Butland to give Old Trafford the shot in the arm it needed.

On the hour mark Garnacho should have scored United’s second. Great work once again by Amad resulted in a fine ball across the goal that arrived to the Argentinian. He took his time and dug out a shot that flicked the post and went wide.

United should have had another goal when Eriksen whipped in a lovely ball from a free kick out wide and Maguire met the ball with his head in plenty of space but somehow managed to turn the ball wide to let Rangers off the hook once again.

The game slowed down a touch but after 74 minutes, Jefte received the ball outside the penalty area but could only volley right down the throat of a grateful Bayindir.

Moments later, Lisandro Martinez played a nice ball forward and Amad showed strength to bounce off the last man but fired his shot over with his weaker right foot.

Manuel Ugarte almost grabbed his first ever goal for the Red Devils when he headed on a Fernandes free kick but it was well saved by Butland.

United’s fans’ hearts were in their mouths when Cyriel Dessers was played in by Rice and he lifted the ball over Bayindir but hit clipped the base of the post. The goal would probably have been ruled out for offside anyway but it certainly was a warning that the game was not yet won with less than 10 minutes remaining.

Amorim’s side refused to learn their lesson however as Maguire misjudged a long ball and Dessers showed wonderful composure to control the ball on the turn and fired into the bottom corner to give Bayindir no chance.

Five minutes were added on and Old Trafford once again saw a late late goal on a European night as despair turned to joy.

Martinez played a wonderful cross into the box and Fernandes volleyed the ball expertly home in front of a jubliant Stretford End.

The full time whistle blew and an ecstatic home crowd celebrated a hard-fought victory which should see the home side into the last 16 of the Europa League.

Starting XI: Bayindir, Amad, De Ligt, Martinez, Yoro, Dalot, Eriksen, Collyer, Fernandes, Garnacho, Zirkzee
Subs: Maguire, Malacia, Mainoo, Ugarte, Hojlund

Fernandes will grab all the headlines but this star was United’s unsung hero in win vs. Rangers

Manchester United beat Rangers 2-1 in the Europa League, to move to fourth place in the league phase standings of the competition. Here are our player ratings from the game.

(A score of 6 is around average)

Altay Bayindir 6 – Didn’t have much to do all game. Nothing much he could have done to thwart Cyriel Dessers.

Leny Yoro 6 – An OK performance. Looked to advance the ball forward when the opportunity presented itself.

Matthijs de Ligt 7 – Unlucky to have his goal disallowed. Some nice bits of defending, although not very adventurous with his passing.

Lisandro Martinez 8 – Had a powerful shot tipped over during the opening 45 minutes. Astute defending tonight. Sumptuous ball to Fernandes for the late winner. Heroic display.

Amad Diallo 7.5 – Quality as has mostly been the case this season. Looked to make things happen from the right-wing-back role. Should have scored after some excellent bit of play between himself and Fernandes.

Toby Collyer 7 – Impressive on his European debut. Started a bit nervy but grew into the game as it went on and finished strongly. Brilliant work rate and did well in possession.

Bruno Fernandes 9 – Some unbelievable balls during spells of attack, including one to Amad that should have resulted in a United goal. Excellent finish to win the game for United.

Diogo Dalot 5 – Just doesn’t offer enough when he needs to beat a defender. Lost the ball in the first half, triggering a Rangers attack. Also bizarrely kicked the ball out of play in the early stages of the second 45 minutes. Decent defensively.

Christian Eriksen 6 – It was his corner-kick that was turned in by Butland to give United the lead. Some nice combinations on the right with Amad but it’s clear he just doesn’t have the legs to consistently play at this level.

Alejandro Garnacho 6.5 – Very direct and almost found the back of the net on a few occasions. Just lacked the finishing touch. Missed a huge sitter in the second half that could have put the game to bed a lot earlier.

Joshua Zirkzee 4 – Not involved nearly enough. A few good touches but not a goal threat. Failed to convert a big chance that fell to him.

      Substitutes

Harry Maguire 4 – Also missed a huge sitter that could have sealed a slightly more comfortable victory for United. Easily nudged off the ball for Rangers’ equaliser. Not strong enough against Dessers.

Tyrell Malacia 5 – Just steady.

Kobbie Mainoo 5 – Same as Malacia. Nothing really remarkable when he was thrust into the action.

Manuel Ugarte 6 – Also missed a good opportunity that would have seen United win the game a bit more comfortably. injected a bit more legs in the midfield following Collyer’s withdrawal.

Rasmus Hojlund 5 – No impact during the limited time he was on the pitch.

Man Utd: Man City flop thwarts Rashford as shock ‘decision’ has ‘direct implication’ on ‘dream transfer’

Barcelona are now unlikely to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United this month following a change of heart from Hansi Flick, according to reports.

Rashford is expected to leave Man Utd in the January transfer window after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim.

La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly the 27-year-old’s ‘dream transfer move’ and have discussed a deal with his representatives.

A permanent transfer to Catalonia is ruled out given the club’s financial situation but the Red Devils are open to letting him leave on a six-month loan.

German side Borussia Dortmund and Italian trio Juventus, Napoli and AC Milan have all been linked with the England international and could make a move if Barcelona end their interest, which is looking increasingly likely.

Barcelona’s pursuit relies on player sales, even just to cover Rashford’s salary, which is believed to be £325,000 a week.

The Blaugrana have had issues registering summer signing Dani Olmo and to add Rashford to Flick’s squad, they will likely have to sell Eric Garcia or Ansu Fati.

Unfortunately for Rashford, Fati is ‘refusing to leave’ and now Flick wants to keep Garcia.

According to The Athletic, the former Manchester City defender ‘is set to stay at Barcelona’.

Garcia has been attracting interest from Girona, Real Sociedad and Como, the report says, but his late equaliser in Tuesday’s dramatic 5-4 win over Benfica in the Champions League has given his Barca career a lifeline.

After his positive display in Lisbon, Garcia was told by head coach Flick that ‘he did not want to let him leave in January as he still had an important role to play this season’.

The Spanish international spent last season on loan at Girona and his ‘personal preference’ is a move there if sold.

He was ‘open to listening to offers’ but ‘has accepted Flick’s decision’ and is going to stay until the end of the season.

Flick’s decision ‘will have direct implications on the club’s ability to make signings this month’ and leaves Rashford’s future extremely uncertain.

Rashford could be given a second chance at Old Trafford if Chelsea-linked winger Alejandro Garnacho leaves Man Utd and will surely not be left out in the cold for the next six months if he fails to find a new club in January.

The report confirms that Barca are ‘monitoring’ Rashford and ‘met with his representatives on Tuesday to discuss a loan move’.

Unfortunately for him, ‘any deal depends on players leaving’ and with Garcia – who underwhelmed in 35 appearances for Man City – and Fati set to stay, a transfer to Catalonia looks very unlikely for the Red Devils attacker.

Garcia has only played 11 times for Barca in 2024/25 but Flick said after the win at Benfica that he is an “important player”.

“He is an important player,” the German said. “He is a defender but can play in different positions on the pitch.

“He is one of the best in the squad with offensive headers, he reads timings very well, so it’s not a surprise he joined the attack. Eric has a great mentality.”

Napoli president De Laurentiis weighs in on Garnacho transfer saga with bizarre remark

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has broken his silence on his club’s reported pursuit of Alejandro Garnacho with a bizarre statement.

United are believed to be prepared to cash in on Garnacho to fund Ruben Amorim’s huge rebuilding job at the club and the Argentina international looks ill at ease in his 3-4-3 formation.

Since Garnacho qualifies as a homegrown player, his sale would provide United with a pure profit and increased spending flexibility under PSR guidelines, particularly as they contend with the possibility of missing out on Champions League qualification this season.

Under Amorim, Garnacho has become a peripheral figure, with the coach mostly demonstrating a preference for Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes as the two players deployed just behind the striker.

Napoli have identified Garnacho as the ideal replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who was sold to Paris Saint-Germain, but the Serie A giants have so far fallen short of United’s steep asking price.

United even reduced their valuation of Garnacho in an effort to reach a compromise with Napoli, but the two parties remain far from an agreement.

As talks stall, the Partenopei have turned their attention towards Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi.

Now, De Laurentiis has weighed in on Napoli’s chase of Garnacho, publicly questioning whether the 20-year-old has the ability to be prolific in Italy’s top flight.

When questioned by a fan about Garnacho’s possible transfer, De Laurentiis responded [via Fabrizio Romano], “Who can guarantee to me that he’s gonna score 20 goals?”

De Laurentiis’ words suggest that Napoli have ended their interest in the United attacker ahead of the transfer deadline on February 3.

His words may also be taken to be a negotiating tactic, as he seeks to break the ongoing deadlock with United.

Chelsea are the other club in the running to land Garnacho this month and according to a recent report covered by The Peoples Person, the Blues have lodged a bid for him.

“Path clear for United”: Bundesliga champ already has “one and a half feet” inside Old Trafford after Barcelona U-turn – report

Manchester United have leaked goals since Ruben Amorim’s arrival with the team keeping only a solitary clean-sheet in 15 games since the Portuguese rocked up to Old Trafford.

Which why it is natural to see the Red Devils linked with elite-level centre-backs like Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah. United are expected to move Victor Lindelof on in the summer which means there is space for a new defender.

The German’s contract is up in 2025 with Tah announcing that he will not sign a contract extension with Xabi Alonso’s side. But such is his importance and quality that Alonso has continued to pick him with Tah missing only two games this campaign.

Multiple clubs from Germany as well as England were eyeing a Bosman move for him in the summer but as per reports, Barcelona were in pole position.

            Tah to Barcelona off?

That is no longer the case with the Catalan giants prioritising a contract extension for Ronald Araujo, which will in turn leave very little space to accommodate the Bundesliga winner.

Fabrizio Romano provided the contract update recently with the Uruguayan set to sign on the dotted lines imminently, which will mean he will stay at Camp Nou until 2031.

“Ronald Araujo’s new deal at Barcelona will be valid until June 2031, five year and half contract. Green light to the documents and it will be signed on Thursday, tomorrow. Barcelona director Deco got the green light from the player and his camp.”

That has handed the 20-time English league champions the perfect opportunity to try and steal the deal with Spanish media (via F365) claiming the 28-year-old already has “one and a half feet” inside Old Trafford.

            United in pole position

“Despite Hansi Flick still considering Tah a very useful signing, Joao Laporta and Deco no longer have any intention of bringing in a player they believe is not needed at all, and this has left the path clear for Manchester United.

“United had also shown strong interest in the Germany international, but they had forgotten about him after his deal with Barcelona was leaked. Finally, thanks to Araujo’s continuity, the Leverkusen star will go with Ruben Amorim.”

Tah has helped keep nine clean sheets in all competitions and apart from his defensive solidity, he also brings goals to the table with the Germany international netting twice and registering one assist.

United were linked with a move for him last summer as well but ended up acquiring Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich. It will be interesting to see if they can be second time lucky. Owing to Tah’s free agency status, he is a great fit given INEOS’ PSR concerns.

Confirmed United XI vs Rangers: Onana dropped, Maguire, Ugarte, Mazraoui rested

Ruben Amorim has made several changes to his Manchester United starting XI for tonight’s Europa League clash against Rangers at Old Trafford.

Andre Onana loses his position in goal despite a poor display last time around. Altay Bayindir gets another chance to impress after his heroics against Arsenal in the FA Cup.

The back three are Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez.

Diogo Dalot and Amad are the wing backs.

              Noussair Mazraoui is rested.

Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans are still injured.

In central midfield, Toby Collyer and Christian Eriksen come in for Manu Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo, who are rested.

The front three are Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho and Josh Zirkzee.

              Mason Mount is another absentee.

Antony and Alejandro Garnacho might both be leaving this month, but still make the squad.

Marcus Rashford, likewise, is the subject of a great deal of transfer speculation and has once again been omitted from the entire squad.

The substitutes’ bench contains: Tom Heaton, Onana, Maguire, Tyrell Malacia, Mazraoui, Casemiro, Ugarte, Mainoo, Antony, Hojlund.

The fact that two goalkeepers are named underlines head coach Ruben Amorim’s determination not to select Rashford.

Kick-off at Old Trafford is at 8pm.

Man Utd: Chelsea ‘make offer’ for £60m winger who ‘prefers’ Blues as Romano confirms ‘agreed deal’

Chelsea – who ‘are willing to pay’ £59million – have made an ‘offer’ to sign Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to reports.

Garnacho is allowed to leave Man Utd this month amidst interest from Serie A giants Napoli and Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The Blues – who are fourth in the Premier League after 22 games – have emerged as surprise contenders for the 20-year-old’s signature.

Enzo Maresca has plenty of attacking depth in his squad and signed Pedro Neto from Wolves for around £51million last summer.

The Man Utd youngster might be seen as a long-term replacement for Mykhaylo Mudryk, who is currently suspended after failing a drugs test.

Garnacho’s form this season has left a lot to be desired. He only has four goal involvements in 21 league appearances.

Chelsea are not looking too much into his form, however, with Fabrizio Romano reporting earlier on Thursday that they are ‘set the make an approach’ to the Red Devils.

And now reports elsewhere say a bid has been made.

Indeed, Edul claims the player ‘prefers to continue playing in the Premier League’.

TNT Sports Argentina reported hours before the bid was made that the Blues ‘would be willing to pay 70 million euros’ to sign Garnacho.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis was asked about potentially signing Garnacho and replied: “Who can guarantee to me that he’s gonna score 20 goals?”

Despite all the talk about his future, Man Utd head coach Ruben Amorim started Garnacho against Rangers in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Chelsea are not in action until Saturday against Manchester City and have been very busy in the transfer market this week.

Multiple reports are linking the Londoners with 18-year-old Saint-Etienne midfielder Mathis Amougou, who will likely be loaned to sister club Strasbourg if signed this month.

Kazakhstan teenager Dastan Satpaev is also expected to join Chelsea but will not sign a five-year contract until he turns 18.

Satpaev, 16, currently plays for Kairat Almaty and is captain of the Kazakhstani Under-17 team.

Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea have ‘agreed a deal’ to sign the young attacker for a fee in the region of €4m (£3.3m).

The Italian transfer expert wrote on X: ‘Chelsea have agreed deal to sign 2008 born talent Dastan Satpaev from Kazakhstan.

‘Record transfer for Kazakhstan league as Dastan will join Chelsea on a 5 year deal plus 1 year option when he turns 18.’

It has also been reported that Napoli have been in ‘positive’ talks with Borussia Dortmund over the signing of Karim Adeyemi, who is an alternative to Garnacho.

Man Utd breaking news: Marcus Rashford turns up for work again

Marcus Rashford has been pictured in Manchester United training so the media are gleefully pretending that he has not been training before…

                  Look who’s back…in some photos
After Marcus Rashford’s ‘shock u-turn’ resulted in him NOT going on strike, we were keen to read the next chapter of the story, particularly in The Sun.

‘Marcus Rashford smiles as he’s seen in Man Utd training for first time since admitting he wants transfer exit’

It seems pertinent to point out – because The Sun absolutely don’t in that bombastic headline – that at no point has Rashford NOT been training with Manchester United when he has been fit.

Indeed, Rashford made the bench for Manchester United for their December 30 clash with Newcastle United, so the implication that he has not trained since saying it might be time to leave the club earlier that month is entirely false. Some would say it’s a right load of bollocks.

But maybe the writer has been done with the headline; let’s take a look at the copy:

‘MARCUS RASHFORD looked in high spirits as he was spotted in Manchester United training for the first time since his transfer bombshell.’

Nope. It still sounds like he has not been training since his ‘transfer bombshell’ when the actual story here (if indeed there is one) is that Rashford has specifically been training ahead of a Europa League clash, when clubs are required to allow photographers.

He was indeed ‘spotted in training for the first time’ if your only source is photographs available through your chosen image provider.

‘Rashford has reportedly been doing extra training sessions amid his nine-match absence.

‘This is the first time he’s been pictured during that time.’

Really? That’s the criteria for a news story? That Manchester United had an open training session, as mandated by UEFA?

‘Sources close to the dumped striker insist he is ready, willing and able to face Rangers if selected.’

Man’s friends say man will do job for which he is handsomely paid. More as we get it. But only if the pictures are on Getty.

MailOnline go even further, claiming: ‘Marcus Rashford has returned to training for Manchester United amid increasing speculation that he could move to Barcelona before the end of the January transfer window.’

Guys, it’s literally two days since Daily Mail journalist Chris Wheeler wrote: ‘It’s understood that Rashford was training at Carrington while his team-mates were preparing to play at Old Trafford, and has been doing extra work with a personal fitness coach to stay in shape during his absence.’

We’re not sure if it’s wilfully misleading or just plain lazy to then write that Rashford has ‘returned to training’ just because you have seen 30-odd pictures in which he ‘was seen smiling during group exercises, with other shots demonstrating his focus on the session’. Just like an ordinary person.

                  Blow monkeys
Over at the Mirror, they are forever keen to crowbar the name of Marcus Rashford into their LIVE transfer coverage:

‘Transfer news LIVE: Arsenal make Sesko decision, Rashford suffers Man Utd blow, fresh Garnacho twist’

It turns out that the ‘Man Utd blow’ being suffered by Rashford is that he might have to play for Manchester United.

First thoughts were that this was misleading, but actually…that really is a massive f***ing blow.

                  A message to you…
Mediawatch fondly remembers a time when sending a ‘message’ meant actually sending a message. Those were simpler times.

Now, we have Casemiro ‘sending (a) one-word message amid Man Utd transfer links’ (MEN) by literally writing the word ‘focused’ on Instagram after he was also ‘seen in Man Utd training’.

And we have Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ‘sending message to Manchester United over Marcus Rashford transfer link with Besiktas’ when the story is very specifically that he has sent no messages.

The Metro story literally begins: ‘Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has denied suggestions that he has spoken to Marcus Rashford or Casemiro about swapping Manchester United for Besiktas.’

So the ‘message’ is that he has neither sent nor received messages. FFS.

Portuguese wizard who was sensational under Amorim at Sporting is now United’s “prime focus” – report

Manchester United monitored Sporting Lisbon right-winger Trincao during the side’s Champions League outing against RB Leipzig, as per reports.

There could be several incomings and outgoings at United during the final days of the winter transfer window.

The Red Devils are working on adding Patrick Dorgu to Ruben Amorim’s ranks. At the same time, they are seemingly welcoming offers for Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho.

Further, Antony’s one foot is already out the door, as United have agreed to loan him out to Real Betis. Following the Brazilian’s exit, Amad would be the only natural right-winger at Amorim’s disposal.

Interestingly, it has emerged that the Premier League giants are keeping tabs on Trincao.

According to TBR Football, United scouted the Portuguese winger during Sporting’s clash with RB Leipzig on Wednesday.

The Mancunian giants also followed Xavi Simons but it is claimed Trincao was the prime focus of the English side’s trip to Germany.

After the 25-year-old right-winger failed to impress at Barcelona and Wolverhampton Wanderers, Amorim handed him an opportunity at Sporting in 2022.

The technically proficient forward rediscovered his confidence under Amorim and managed to bag 10 goals and 10 assists across all competitions during the 2023/24 campaign. In total, he managed to register 50 goal contributions under the Portuguese tactician’s tutelage.

TBR Football add that “United have been doing work on signing the former Wolves attacker since before Ruben Amorim’s appointment last year.”

If United focus on strengthening their right flank after Antony’s exit, Trincao could prove to be an interesting option. However, their priority may change should either of the club’s two main left-wingers, Rashford or Garnacho, leave.

In that regard, Simons, who plays as a left-winger and number 10 at Leipzig, could become a more suitable target.

United planning “new summit” in the next three days to break transfer deadlock and sign perfect Amorim target – report

Despite Manchester United’s best attempts, they have been unable to break the deadlock with Lecce over a move for Patrick Dorgu in January.

As recently relayed by The Peoples Person, the Red Devils saw their latest bid of £23 million plus add-ons turned down by the Italian club after United officials flew to Milan in a bid to break the ice.

But INEOS are in no mood to give up with a fresh approach expected soon despite Lecce’s president Sticchi Damiani publicly claiming that they do not want to lose their talisman this month.

Napoli, who are also interested in the Danish starlet, have offered to loan back the player for the remainder of the season after acquiring his signature in January, a proposal that could hand them the advantage in the race.

                      New meeting regarding Dorgu planned

Lecce have been demanding €40 million for the 20-year-old’s signature and should the Old Trafford side cough up that amount, the Naples outfit will have no hope of matching that and Dorgu will fly to Manchester immediately.

As revealed by Calciomercato, United officials are set to hold yet another meeting with their Lecce counterparts in the next three days to try and come to an agreement with Ruben Amorim desperate for reinforcements at left wingback.

“President Sticchi Damiani has publicly stated that he wants to keep Dorgu until June, because he is important in the fight for survival, however there are no certainties about the winger’s permanence at Lecce.

“This is because Manchester United, as confirmed by Calciomercato.it, intend to relaunch their pursuit of the Danish winger of Nigerian origins.

“A new summit has been set between the two clubs in three days. But it cannot be ruled out that it could be brought forward, given that the ‘Red Devils’ are serious about the 20-year-old.”

Whatever their president has claimed, internally the Serie A side are preparing for Denmark international’s departure in this window with Lecce tabling an offer for Danilo Veiga, a 22-year-old defender for Estrela Amadora in Liga Portugal.

                      Lecce preparing for the inevitable

The player has already reached a basic agreement to move to Old Trafford and it seems only a matter of time before he is seen playing in red.

There was interest from within the Premier League as well but United are firmly in the driver’s seat as of today with the gap in valuation decreasing by the day.

Amorim has been forced to play Diogo Dalot at left wingback with the Portugal international struggling, especially in an attacking sense.

United have already ruled out a move for Alvaro Fernandez this winter which shows how confident they are of landing Dorgu.
