Manchester United fans are currently enjoying seeing their team compete in the top half of the table. After a slow start, they find themselves eighth but only two points from second place in a highly competitive Premier League. New signings’ effect One of the big reasons behind United’s improved performances has been how well the club’s four summer signings have fit into the side. Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have especially fit into the team seamlessly, after coming from Premier League sides last summer in the form of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford. The form of these players has not been lost on United manager Ruben Amorim, who sung their praises while speaking on the Men in Blazers Show. Maverick While speaking on the show he effusively praised his two new attacking stars. Commenting on Cunha he added, he “is a maverick who does things that are hard to find in some players.” Amorim continued, “he plays with the ball, but he has an aura that can do something to the opponent’s heads. And that is really important.” The Portuguese manager also highlighted what Mbeumo has been able to bring to this United team. He claimed, “Bryan is really direct, and we missed that last year. You can sense when the ball is going to our defender, he is already running to position. This kind of small things that people don’t see are massive to turn our team into a more dangerous team.” Maguire contribution Amorim also highlighted how important Maguire is becoming owing to the evolving style of football in the league. He explained, “our league in this moment is a lot of set pieces. The first goal, a lot of times, is a set piece. Maguire is so strong defending set pieces and he is really strong attacking set pieces, so everything together.” Amorim also added that managers are addicted to winning and that he can’t wait for the next victory. Speaking on his side’s recent positive results he elaborated, “but see, my team is not playing well. When I see my team, like, against Liverpool, against Brighton, the way we ran, when we train one thing during the week and they are doing these things, it is the best feeling in the world for me. I really love my job.” Mbeumo and Cunha 25/26 stats PlayerMatchesGoalsAssistsMins played Bryan Mbeumo1151911 Matheus Cunha910612 Source: transfermarkt.com Featured image Shaun Botterill via Getty Images – The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade.
