“Your heart drops”: United star’s sister provides amusing anecdote about watching her brother play

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been in some of the best form of his Old Trafford career. Strong form He has been solid in defence when called upon and netted the winner versus Liverpool at Anfield. The England centre back is currently injured but he has been a regular starter in the United backline alongside Matthijs de Ligt and Luke Shaw this season. His United career has not always gone so swimmingly as he was almost sold from the club in the summer of 2023. Nonetheless, he has fought back and under Ruben Amorim has made himself a key member of the defensive department. Sister worry Despite his improved performances, not everyone is so confident when it comes to Maguire. In an interview on TNT Sports (via The Sun), his sister Daisy interviewed her brother ahead of the clash with Tottenham Hotspur. His sibling admitted that she still gets nervous watching her brother on the biggest stage. She added, “even to this day, you don’t get used to that first minute when the game kicks off.” The United defender agreed with his sister and reflected on the challenges of watching a family member play. He explained, “it is strange. It’s probably harder to watch a family member play than it is actually playing. When I go and watch my brother play, Loz, I was probably more nervous watching him in his final that he played at Wembley than being in a game of football myself. So it is strange.” His sister Daisy interjected, “yeah, it’s just every time you get the ball” which Maguire responded to with humour, “that’s not very good! You’re nervous when I touch the ball?” She then concluded, “your heart drops” when she watches her brother play.
