‘Will 100% leave’: Romano provides Monday afternoon transfer bombshell over outcast Man United target

Gianluigi Donnarumma has been omitted from Paris Saint-Germain’s squad for their midweek Super Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur, all but confirming where his future lies at the Parc des Princes.

Fabrizio Romano has assured the 26-year-old shot-stopper ‘will 100 per cent leave’ PSG, whether that be this summer or when his contract expires in June 2026.

His exile comes after an agreement failed to be reached over a new deal between Donnarumma and the club, which prompted them to sign a direct replacement in the form of Lille’s Lucas Chevalier.

Alas, Manchester United are likely to be on red alert following today’s developments, as they have been linked with Donnarumma on numerous occasions since the contract stalemate began.

Signing a new goalkeeper has never been ruled out for the Red Devils this transfer window – it just wasn’t a priority on the same scale as a new striker was.

There’s also still plenty of time to facilitate one’s arrival, especially given how swiftly they got a deal over the line for Benjamin Sesko last week.

Donnarumma to United: What’s been said?

Reports have suggested that Donnarumma, the Italian national team’s captain, could be available for just £26 million this month, making it a relatively risk-free coup for United, who forked out £47m to sign Andre Onana back in 2023.

The renowned ‘keeper won the Euros with his country back in 2021 and, last season, played an integral role in PSG claiming their first-ever Champions League title whilst becoming the first French club to win the continental treble.

It’s been claimed Donnarumma is tempted by the prospect of representing the 20-time English champions, while Ruben Amorim is reportedly urging the board to grant him a new No.1 – and you can’t really blame him when taking into account Onana’s turbulent form over the last two seasons.
