Manchester United lifted the Snapdragon Cup at Old Trafford with a penalty-shootout win over Fiorentina, but which Red was voted as our Man of the Match?

It was all square at the end of the 90 minutes, with a Simon Sohm opener cancelled out by a Robin Gosens own goal, so penalties were needed to decide a winner.

With the first four converted for both sides, it fell to Altay Bayindir to keep our La Viola’s fifth from Fabiano Parisi with a strong save, allowing Kobbie Mainoo to step up and power home the winner, delivering the pre-season silverware in the process.

Supporters have been voting since the final whistle for your Man of the Match. Keep scrolling to find out the results…

Who gets your vote for United’s Man of the Match against Fiorentina?

Taking the crown for this game is Mason Mount, with 25 per cent of the vote, who started the game as Ruben Amorim’s most advanced attacker, tirelessly pressing Fiorentina’s defensive unit and linking the play between new Reds duo Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha just behind him.

He combined well on multiple occasions with Bruno Fernandes, Cunha and Mbeumo to create chances, adopting a more interchangeable role with the latter in the second half to try and bamboozle the opponent.

It was a role and a performance that Amorim was clearly satisfied with, opting to leave the English midfielder on the pitch until the last few minutes, when he was replaced by a more defensively minded option in Manuel Ugarte.

Fernandes didn’t find himself too far behind in the rankings, polling 21 per cent of the fan vote, having played a key role in our equaliser.

He delivered a pinpoint cross to the far side of the six-yard box, hit with such pace and precision that Gosens could do nothing other that turn it into his own net, under pressure from Leny Yoro and Casemiro.

Aside from that, it was another all-action display from our captain, who took on shots, pulled off neat trickery to unsettle the opponent and raced towards the Fiorentina goal to create chances for the likes of Cunha, despite the Portuguese wizard notionally playing a deeper role than he has at points in the past.

Mbeumo (14 per cent) and Yoro (10 per cent) both ranked highly, but neither could wrestle the award from Mount, who has had a productive pre-season and will now be looking to carry that momentum into the competitive campaign, starting with a Premier League assignment against Arsenal next weekend.

Congratulations, Mason! Thank you to everyone who voted.
