United ready to pay €150m to land superstar duo, would send shockwaves across Europe – report

Ineos have transformed Manchester United’s attack this summer, but they have no plans to slow down.

At the start of the summer, United were expected to be cautious with their transfer spending after failing to secure European football for the 2025/26 campaign.

However, ahead of the new season, the club’s hierarchy have spent over £200 million to bring in Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.

Having revamped Ruben Amorim’s forward line, Ineos have now set their sights on the side’s midfield and goalkeeping department. In that regard, Carlos Baleba and Gianluigi Donnarumma have emerged as their desired targets.

Manchester United plotting double swoop

According to Fichajes, United are prepared to splash €150m in their attempts to complete a blockbuster double swoop.

It is claimed that Amorim is unconvinced by Andre Onana, who delivered a number of erratic performances in the Portuguese tactician’s maiden season at the helm at Old Trafford.

Accordingly, he wants to replace Onana with Donnarumma. United are reportedly willing to sign the Italian goalkeeper in a deal worth around €50m.

However, it seems the Spanish outlet have got their figures wrong for Donnarumma. As per multiple other reports, Paris Saint-Germain, who are very keen to cut ties with the 26-year-old shot-stopper, are open to accepting a fee in the region of €30m.

Manchester United prepared to spend big on Baleba

Fichajes further add that United are determined to sign Baleba as well, and are ready to spend around €100m on the Cameroonian midfielder.

The 21-year-old has impressed the figures at United with his physical prowess and press resistance.

It is suggested that the all-action midfielder is viewed as a player capable of partnering Bruno Fernandes, Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo or Casemiro in the midfield pivot, depending on Amorim’s tactics.

Having said that, Brighton are unlikely to entertain any offer below £100million. The Seagulls sold Moises Caicedo to Chelsea for £115m (€133m) in 2023, and it is thought they would be looking for a similar figure for Baleba.

United are certainly interested in both Donnarumma and Baleba. However, there are question marks over Fichajes’ valuations. As such, it is advised to take the claim with a pinch of salt.
