United plot to ruin Guardiola’s transfer plan with stunning raid for PL speedster compared to Gareth Bale – report

The left wing-back position has emerged as a cause for concern for Manchester United in recent times. The Red Devils initially signed Patrick Dorgu from Lecce in January in a reported £25 million deal to strengthen the position. Despite a decent start to life under Ruben Amorim, the Danish speedster has endured a dip in form this season. Meanwhile, Diogo Dalot, who has covered in the position so far, hasn’t fared any better either. The situation has prompted talk of reinforcements in 2026. A recent report, relayed by The Peoples Person, states that United’s director of football Jason Wilcox is a long-term admirer of Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento, who could be an option for the job. Gareth Bale regen The Englishman rose through the ranks at Southampton, where he crossed paths with Wilcox. The Magpies secured Livramento’s signature in the summer of 2023, and he has come into his own of late. Such was his impact last season that he was compared to Gareth Bale by former Arsenal forward Theo Walcott. This season, the 23 year old has made 10 appearances across competitions but is currently sidelined with a knee injury. However, it now appears that United are not the only club eyeing the Englishman. Possibilities of summer bidding war According to journalist Marc Brus, Manchester City and Arsenal could lock horns with United for the services of Livramento next summer. One source told the journalist: “City would love to sign Livramento in January. That currently looks unlikely, but it could be a major saga next summer, when we can also expect United and Arsenal to come into the conversation.” The report adds that the Englishman is not expected to force a move, although he will have tempting offers to leave Newcastle United. It was previously reported that the Magpies are already planning to tie him down to a new deal, with his current contract set to expire in 2028. Final Thoughts Amorim’s 3-4-3 system relies heavily on full-backs, and United have subsequently struggled this season due to Dalot and Dorgu’s poor form. Amad has been excellent in the right-sided wing-back role, but the Red Devils lack proper cover for the position as well. Livramento’s potential arrival, as such, could tick a lot of boxes at the Theatre of Dreams. The Englishman already has experience of playing in the Premier League, so he also fits INEOS’ recent transfer strategy.
