United in talks to sign sensational attacker before deadline day, club record bid will be accepted – report

Manchester United have set their sights on Mohamed Kader Meite, who is expected to depart Stade Rennais in the final days of the winter transfer window. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report that the idea of Meite’s exit is “gaining ground” amid interest from Al-Hilal and United. It was suggested that any potential move from United hinges on one of their attackers leaving in January.  Stade Rennais set Mohamed Kader Meite price tag Now, Ouest-France (via Sport Witness) claim United have taken notice of Meite’s immense potential and unique profile. Standing at 6ft 4in, the towering 18-year-old has already learned to make the most of his imposing physique. Meite is equally adept at controlling the ball in tight spaces and taking on defenders. Accordingly, he has emerged as an option for United ahead of deadline day. The newspaper suggests that Rennes could consider sanctioning a late move if there is an offer over €30 million. Their biggest sale was that of Arnaud Kalimuendo to Nottingham Forest for €30m. The France U21 international, who made his senior debut for the Ligue 1 side in November 2024, joined their academy from Montrouge FC 92 for free in 2022. Mohamed Kader Meite could replace Joshua Zirkzee at United United, meanwhile, face a battle to keep hold of Joshua Zirkzee. It is understood Juventus have resumed talks with the Red Devils for the Dutchman after missing out on Youssef En-Nesyri. Zirkzee is thought to be open to leaving United, having struggled for regular minutes at Old Trafford. If the Dutchman were to leave, United would accelerate their efforts to bring in an attacking reinforcement.  According to The Guardian journalist Ed Aarons, the Premier League giants are considering stepping up their interest in Meite and have held talks with the player’s entourage.
