United in heated race against Arsenal and Chelsea to sign deadly Bundesliga goal poacher – report

Manchester United appear set for a heated battle as they look to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Patrik Schick.

With Rasmus Hojlund struggling to carry the torch as Man United’s first-choice striker and Chido Obi’s youth, it appears that manager Ruben Amorim will need to look to the transfer market to find the kind of clinical finisher that his team desperately needs.

Matheus Cunha has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, but even if his transfer materialises, the club will no doubt need more than one capable attacker to lead their front line throughout the busy season.

Another formidable forward that has been named as a transfer target is Schick, whose talent has not been recognised by just United alone.

This morning, CaughtOffside reported that United are in for a tough ride as they seek to beat some fierce Premier League rivals to the striker’s signature.

“Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all have an interest in the potential transfer of Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick this summer,” CaughtOffside reported.

“Sources close to the situation have informed CaughtOffside that all three Premier League clubs are closely monitoring Schick’s situation, with Leverkusen likely to be willing to listen to offers in the region of €30-40m for the Czech Republic international.”

“Schick has a contract until 2027, but CaughtOffside understands his Leverkusen future is in some doubt this summer,” the report concluded, suggesting that a transfer is almost certainly on the cards.

In 29 Bundesliga appearances this season, Schick has netted 19 goals, producing an outstanding 29% goal conversion, which proves just how clinical he can be in front of goal.

Notably, Schick was part of Leverkusen’s Bundesliga-winning team last season, helping his team to finish the season undefeated.

Ultimately, Schick is the kind of goal poacher that United could rely upon to put away chances within the penalty box – something that has been lacking for far too long as a club of its stature.

Still, the team’s ability to clinch UEFA Champions League qualification next season could prove to be vital for convincing the Czech forward to join the club over its rivals.

This makes tomorrow night’s semi-final clash with Athletic Club all the more important, with the team’s entire season resting upon the UEFA Europa League title.
