Manchester United are prepared to part ways with Andre Onana, who has attracted interest from Turkey.
Despite missing out on pre-season due to fitness issues, Onana was expected to start the new campaign as United’s number one, as the club’s hierarchy weren’t prioritising shaking up their goalkeeping department in the summer.
However, Ruben Amorim sent a big message by picking Altay Bayındır in the first three Premier League matches despite Onana’s availability. It seems the final nail in the coffin for the Cameroon international at Old Trafford was United’s decision to sign Senne Lammens.
Man United to ship Onana out to Trabzonspor
According to Fabrizio Romano, Onana is set to join Trabzonspor on a season-long loan deal.
The Süper Lig outfit found an agreement with United on Saturday. Today, they have struck an agreement with Onana, who has signed “all contracts” and is waiting to travel to Turkey next week.
United have given the green light to the deal without any loan fee or obligation to buy.
The Red Devils’ eagerness to get rid of Onana suggests Amorim is satisfied with Lammens, Bayındır and Tom Heaton as his goalkeeping options.

As per Romano, United believe the Belgian youngster could be “the next big thing” and a “really important goalkeeper” for Amorim.
The Italian journalist claims that the expectation at the club is that the 23-year-old will compete with Bayindir for the starting spot.
United’s backline has the tendency to concede a lot of shots. In that regard, Lammens could prove to be an instant upgrade on Onana.
He made 173 saves in the Belgian Pro League last term, 20 more than any other goalkeeper in any of Europe’s top 10 leagues last season.
United will a pay fee of €21 million plus €4m in add-ons to Royal Antwerp for his services. He has signed a five-year contract through to 2030.
