United fans respond with intriguing message over the future of flop signing

Manchester United fans have had their say on what the future of Rasmus Hojlund should be.

Likely summer sale

Hojlund has been one of a number of players in the squad linked with a move away from Old Trafford all summer.

He played a regular part of the pre-season tour but has been at the centre of a lot of speculation over a move.

AC Milan are the club that have been most linked to the player and there has been speculation that a deal has been agreed between United and the Italian giants.

Nonetheless, Hojlund has reportedly not accepted his United career is over just quite yet but this may change were he not to be involved tomorrow against Arsenal.

As a result of the player’s uncertain future, The Peoples Person has conducted a poll asking readers to answer what should United do with Hojlund after signing Benjamin Sesko?

Fans back an exit

40% of supporters believe that Hojlund should leave the club in some sort of permanent fashion, be that a sale or a loan with an obligation to buy.

According to Italian reports, the Danish international will only consider leaving the club for a deal of this ilk, so this is perhaps the most likely outcome.

Sizeable minority want him to stay

Interestingly, Hojlund does have a future at the club according to 35% of readers.

They answered that the forward should be kept at Old Trafford and perhaps play back up to new signing Sesko.

Many critics have argued that Hojlund has struggled with the pressures of leading the line at United and he perhaps could benefit from playing a more secondary role to a more established striker.

There is little doubt that Hojlund has much more talent than he has shown during his two years at United and possibly he could thrive with less pressure.

Loan with option to buy

13% of respondents stated that the Dane should be loaned out to get minutes but that there should only be an option to buy.

This is perhaps because they are desperate for the forward to leave and would accept any sort of offer to clear his wages and provide space in the squad for another incoming.

Finally, 12% of fans have claimed that United would benefit from allowing Hojlund to go on a dry loan, meaning that he would return to the club next season.

Whilst this would do little for the club’s current financial situation right now, it may allow him to increase his value with a successful spell away from the club or even demonstrate he could have a future in Manchester.
