Two United goals in frame for monthly award

Thursday 08 January 2026 13:00Manchester United have two representatives on the Premier League’s Goal of the Month shortlist for December. The final phase of the calendar year included a couple of cracking strikes from Bruno Fernandes and Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu at Old Trafford. The skipper produced a sublime free-kick during the 4-4 draw against Bournemouth, during a critical point of the pulsating clash on 15 December. The Cherries were winning 3-2 when Bruno matched James Tavernier’s efforts at the other end by finding the net direct from a set-piece. It was a moment of real quality from Fernandes, and celebrated wildly on the night. Bruno’s vintage free-kick VideoBruno’s vintage free-kickGOAL CLIP | Bruno Fernandes expertly found the top bin with his thunderous free-kick against Bournemouth…Dorgu’s maiden goal in United colours, following his move last year from Lecce, was one to savour. Pouncing on Nick Woltemade’s headed clearance, he slammed home a left-footed volley, which gave Newcastle United keeper Aaron Ramsdale no chance.  It proved enough to earn all three points from the Boxing Day encounter with the Magpies. Our fans have already made their choice for our official club Goal of the Month award, selecting Dorgu as the victor. The versatile Denmark international gained 63 per cent of the vote, with Bruno’s effort in second, on 24 per cent. You can have your say via the Premier League website, with the closing date for entries on Monday 12 January at 12:00 GMT. The result is due to be announced on Friday 16 January.Dorgu’s first goal for United VideoDorgu’s first goal for UnitedCLIP | Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu kept his eyes on the ball to score this cracker against Newcastle… GUINNESS GOAL OF THE MONTH SHORTLIST Phil Foden # 1 (Fulham v MAN CITY) Bruno Guimaraes (NEWCASTLE v Burnley) Harry Wilson (FULHAM v Crystal Palace) Ibrahim Sangare (NOTTINGHAM FOREST v Spurs) BRUNO FERNANDES (UNITED v Bournemouth) Morgan Rogers # 1 (ASTON VILLA v United) PATRICK CHINAZAEKPERE DORGU (UNITED v Newcastle) Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Sunderland v LEEDS)Recommended:Thursday 08 January 2026 13:00Back to Top
