Tributes planned for Manchester attack victims

Old Trafford.

Manchester United will pay tribute to the victims of Thursday’s Heaton Park Synagogue attack in all four of this weekend’s fixtures.

The club’s thoughts are with the Jewish community in Manchester following an incident that led to two people losing their lives and three others remaining in hospital with injuries.

In a mark of respect, our men’s, women’s, Under-21s and Under-18s teams will all wear black armbands throughout this weekend’s respective matches.

A minute’s silence will also be held at the Progress of Unity Stadium ahead of United Women v Chelsea on Friday night, as well as at Old Trafford on Saturday before the Reds’ Premier League game against Sunderland.

The thoughts of everyone at Manchester United are with the victims of today’s tragic events in north Manchester and we offer our support to all those affected.#ACityUnited

In his press conference to preview that game, head coach Ruben Amorim began by reflecting on this week’s attack in north Manchester.

“It is a crazy world we are living in at the moment, a lot of these things are happening,” said the boss at Carrington.

“Of course, our sympathies for the victims and we will pay tribute tomorrow, but it is a crazy world in this moment.”

At this difficult time, Manchester continues to be a city United.
