“The club has ignored our call”: United fan group raging about INEOS’ controversial decision

The Manchester United Supporters’ Trust have released a statement in response to Manchester United’s decision to hike ticket prices. Controversial decision On Friday, United announced that they have increased season ticket prices for the fourth year in a row. United stated that they had made the decision after holding discussions with representatives on the Fans’ Advisory Board and wider supporter groups. The Red Devils’ decision was motivated by a need to generate more revenue and help the club in their ambitions to challenge both on the domestic and European fronts. In real terms, the increase works out at just over £2 per game on average for adult season ticket holders, and roughly £1 per game for under-16s. For next season, the lowest-priced adult season ticket at Old Trafford comes in at £646. That equates to £34 for each of the 19 league fixtures. When United hiked ticket prices last year, it sparked fury among fans and triggered protests, with anger directed squarely at co-owners Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the Glazer family.
