Manchester United may not have Champions League football to tempt potential transfer targets but the history that they have as a club and their legacy still gives them a massive pulling power ahead of some other clubs in England.
That said, the club need to turn things around from a sporting perspective and return to becoming competitive.
News – Report – Man Utd have to agree only £8.7m initial fee to sign £44m star
Players will want to join Man Utd only if they continue to be relevant in the Premier League and they need to ensure that.
One player that the Red Devils are keen on signing for the striker position is RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko. Man Utd are trying to beat rivals Newcastle United to his signature and the negotiations only seem to have started.
As per Leipziger Volkszeitung, Benjamin Sesko is prepared to secure a move to Manchester United this summer. The Slovenian number nine leaving RB Leipzig looks like a very concrete possibility with the destination being the question mark.
As per TalkSport’s Anil Kandola, Sesko’s camp have suggested that his preference would be a move to Old Trafford over Tyneside park. Even though the Magpies are able to offer more financial flexibility, the player is intrigued by Man Utd.
We covered a story a few days ago that Leipzig had dropped their asking price for Benjamin Sesko and that he would be allowed to leave now for around £60.6million. That is a very decent fee for the young striker who has a very high ceiling.
This has been a summer of striker signings in the Premier League. Viktor Gyokeres has joined Arsenal, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro have joined Chelsea, Hugo Ekitike has joined Liverpool and it looks like it’s Man Utd’s turn to snap up Sesko.
Anyone who has seen the 22-year-old play will understand how talented he is. A case can be made that he has the highest potential of any number nine not named Erling Haaland and let’s wait and see how things play out for Man Utd.
