Man United’s struggles to offload players

Yes, there has been interest in these players, but one or two factors have held back certain transfers.

While United’s efforts to sell have seemed hopeless, Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce may be about to lend a helping hand in their endeavour to offload Marcus Rashford.

Head coach Ruben Amorim and Rashford reportedly fell out shortly after the Portuguese tactician took charge.

The United academy graduate was exiled from the matchday squad and had to leave to find game time.

In the winter, he secured a loan move to Villa Park.

At Aston Villa, he showed glimpses of his brilliance, registering 10 goal involvements in 17 games, before injuries cut short his resurgence.

Despite that mini-revival, Rashford was still expected to leave Old Trafford.

A return to Villa would have made sense, but with the forward open to leaving United, his heart was set on joining Barcelona.

Although he is thought to have given Barcelona assurances over his desire to join, even if it meant making sacrifices, they have yet to act on the transfer.

Fenerbahce keen to hijack Rashford’s Barcelona switch

There is hope that Barcelona will eventually make their move, but as they continue to dilly-dally, they risk missing out on an opportunity.

Reports from Turkey suggest Mourinho is keen to bring Rashford to Istanbul.

According to Fotomac, Mourinho has gone the extra mile to persuade the Englishman to switch to the Super Lig.

The Turkish outlet writes: “Jose Mourinho personally stepped in for the Rashford transfer, held a phone call with his former player and asked about his intentions. Once Rashford gave the green light, the process was set in motion.”

Just the other day, links between Rashford and the Yellow Canaries surfaced.

Now Mourinho has stepped in.

The Portuguese tactician coached Rashford for over two seasons at United, so he undoubtedly holds influence over him.

But will the Red Devil give up on his Camp Nou dream to move to the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium?

That remains to be seen.
