Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been linked with a move away from the club during the summer transfer window.
However, he is regarded as an important member of the team, and Manchester United do not plan to cash in on him. Ruben Amorim is reportedly a fan of the defender, and he has decided not to let the defender move on.
Amorim makes Maguire decision
Pete O’Rourke revealed on Football Insider: “A few clubs have been interested and made contact to check whether he would be available, but those talks have not been allowed to develop.
“From what I hear, Ruben Amorim is a fan of him, and he doesn’t want to see him go. They see Maguire as a very important part of the squad, both on the pitch and off it.
“He’s a leader and an experienced head in the dressing room for the younger players, but he’s also one of their better centre-backs every time he plays. He’s an integral part of what Amorim is looking to do, and there are no plans to let him go.”
Harry Maguire is a reliable performer
There is no doubt that Maguire is a reliable performer, and he’s also one of the leaders in the dressing room. Manchester United are already lacking in depth in the defensive unit, and letting him move on would be a mistake.
Manchester United have looked vulnerable at the back, and they need to improve in that area of the pitch. Ideally, they should look to sign a quality central defender instead of selling their best players. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
They have done some impressive business during the summer transfer window so far, and it will be interesting to see if they can improve the midfield and the defence before the window closes. They will be hoping to push for a place in the top for the season, and they will look to do well in the domestic competitions as well.
