Man Utd Plot January Swoop For £40M Rated Teenager Who Models His Game On Luka Modric

BACK David Tully Nov 20th 2025 Man Utd are monitoring Olympiakos midfielder Christos Mouzakitis ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports. The 18-year-old has been turning heads with his performances in recent months, with The Sun claiming that both the Red Devils and Brighton have taken a keen interest in the player. Mouzakitis has been linked to other English teams as well, with the likes of Arsenal and Aston Villa having also scouted the player. That level of interest means that Olympiakos won’t let the teenager leave on the cheap if United or another team make a formal approach in the New Year. What is Mouzakitis’s asking price? The Sun report that Olympiakos want at least £40m for the midfielder, which is a sizeable fee when you consider his lack of top-level experience. Mouzakitis has made 49 appearances his his senior career so far, having scored 2 goals and contributed 6 assists. His first taste of Champions League football only came a couple of months ago, but he has yet to be on the winning side, with Olympiakos having drawn against Pafos and PSV Eindhoven, and lost against Arsenal and Barcelona in their first four group fixtures. What else should Man Utd fans know about the player? Mouzakitis is already a fully-fledged Greek international despite his young age. He was handed his first senior cap in November last year, coming on as a substitute during a Nations League match against Finland. He has gone on to make 6 further appearances, with starts coming against Scotland (twice) and Bulgaria. The youngster is believed to model his game on former Tottenham and Real Madrid star Luka Modric, so that gives you a good idea about his style of play. His strengths lie with his passing and vision on the ball.
