Romano Issues Fresh Update As Man Utd Are Linked With £62M Transfer

BACK David Tully Nov 20th 2025 Man Utd have “not started” talks to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. There has been speculation that both the Red Devils and Arsenal are interested in purchasing the 23-year-old. However, Romano says that while Adeyemi is the sort of player that the Red Devils are looking for, he hasn’t heard anything about formal negotiations taking place: “Manchester United are looking at that type of profile, a player who can play as a winger or as a No. 10 behind the striker, someone electric, skilful, talented, and fast.” “Karim Adeyemi is very fast, and he fits that description. Manchester United are following several players with those kinds of qualities, and Adeyemi is one of the best in Europe in that category.” “But if you ask me today whether Manchester United are negotiating with Adeyemi’s agents or negotiating with Borussia Dortmund for a January move, from what I am told, at this stage of the year, Manchester United have not started any concrete negotiation or concrete discussion for Karim Adeyemi.” Adeyemi won’t be available on the cheap While the relationship between the forward and Dortmund is believed to be somewhat strained, it is thought that the Bundesliga are not willing to sanction his sale for a bargain price. A valuation of around €70m (£62m) has been slapped on Adeyemi, and that may put off United from making an approach for the player in January. Man Utd may need to replace Zirkzee Until recently, it was thought that Ruben Amorim’s side were prioritising a move for a central midfielder ahead of the January transfer window, but Romano’s comments do suggest that a forward could be brought in too. It’s more than likely that Joshua Zirkzee’s desire to leave Old Trafford has prompted a search for a potential replacement. The Dutchman has been linked with Roma and West Ham.
