Man United, Chelsea And Tottenham Told To Pay £30M As Transfer Battle Heats Up For 4 Cap International

BACK

Man United have joined the race to sign Brentford midfielder Yehor Yarmolyuk, according to reports.

TEAMtalk claim that the Red Devils, Chelsea and Tottenham are keeping close tabs on the Ukrainian, who has been capped 4 times by his country.

Yarmolyuk is unlikely to be sold in the January transfer window but there is a feeling that Brentford would be more open to a sale at the end of the season.

TEAMtalk report that a fee of around £30m would be needed to secure the 21-year-old’s signature.

Man United are looking to reinforce the midfield

Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed last week that Ruben Amorim’s side are hoping to bring in a “new important midfielder”.

Whether Yarmolyuk would fit into that category, it is up for debate. While he has become a regular starter for Brentford over the past couple of seasons, he is relatively inexperienced at the highest level, having yet to reach 100 senior appearances in his career.

However, the Red Devils are likely to be looking for several additions in the middle of the park. Casemiro is expected to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires in June, while there are doubts over the futures of Kobbie Mainoo and captain Bruno Fernandes.

Yarmolyuk is not the only transfer target

United have also been linked with several other midfielders in recent weeks. Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton is known to be on the club’s radar. The England international may soon have a release clause if he signs a new contract.

Other names, including Brighton’s Carlos Baleba (who was looked at in the summer), and Atletico Madrid’s Conor Gallagher (who was the subject of a loan offer) could also come under consideration as targets either in January or before the start of next campaign.
