Ineos plot two blockbuster signings with €120m war chest ready for January raid – report

For anyone who has been following Manchester United’s rumour mill this week, you will have seen the links to Ousmane Diomande and Oihan Sancet.

Diomande

Reports suggest head coach Ruben Amorim is keen to bring Diomande to Old Trafford.

In a bid to help the Portuguese tactician build his dream team, INEOS are said to be preparing a significant offer to land Diomande in January.

Sancet

Meanwhile, United are reportedly pushing hard to reinforce their attacking midfield and have set their sights on Athletic Club’s Oihan Sancet.

It is understood that United are leading the race and are willing to table a €70 million (£61 million) offer to get the deal over the line.

Although the two transfers may appear unrelated, a report from Spain hints they could form part of a bold winter strategy.

Brilliant winter double swoop

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes:

“[United are] ready to strengthen their squad in the upcoming winter transfer window with two key signings: Ousmane Diomande and Oihan Sancet.

“The English club has allocated approximately 120 million euros to secure these signings, to strengthen its defence and midfield.”

If this double swoop goes through, it could mark a significant step towards Amorim assembling his ideal XI.

€120m well spent

Sancet’s imposing frame could prove invaluable in United’s midfield battles, helping win duels and dominate transitions.

Moreover, his ability to carry the ball forward with ease and carve out space could elevate United’s attacking rhythm.

Meanwhile, Diomande, having already played under Amorim, would slot seamlessly into the tactical setup.

In particular, his ability with the ball at his feet, coupled with his knack for launching attacks from deep with pinpoint forward passes, could revolutionise United’s build-up play.

Ultimately, there is little doubt that a Diomande-Sancet double swoop could take United to the next level, as the Red Devils continue their quest to reclaim lost glory.
