The final game of Ruud van Nistelrooy’s spell as interim head coach, pending Ruben Amorim’s arrival as Manchester United boss, takes place on Sunday.

Leicester City are our opponents once again, as they were for the first of Ruud’s matches in charge, the 5-2 triumph in the Carabao Cup.

This time, it’s Premier League points at stake, as the Reds look to head into the international break in upbeat fashion by beating Steve Cooper’s men for a second time in as many weeks at Old Trafford.

Discover all the key info on the Remembrance Sunday fixture with the Foxes below…

HOW TO WATCH AND FOLLOW

The match will not be broadcast on live television in the UK, as Nottingham Forest versus Newcastle United is Sky Sports‘ offering. Instead, you can join us on MUTV, the United App or ManUtd.com for all the build-up 65 minutes prior to the 14:00 GMT kick-off.

You’ll then be able to keep track of all the action with our live radio commentary, match updates and interactive content throughout the game.

As always, keep across our official channels after the final whistle for top post-match reaction, analysis and interviews.

TEAM NEWS

Luke Shaw and Leny Yoro have joined Tyrell Malacia in returning to training but this match is expected to come too soon for them. Nonetheless, Christian Eriksen and Mason Mount made their comebacks as substitutes in the 2-0 Europa League victory over PAOK, and Antony also made the matchday squad.

Amad was withdrawn with a knock, and is being assessed, while Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo’s injuries mean they were not in contention for the latest England squad.

Leicester could be without Jakub Stolarczyk, Bobby De Cordova Reid and Hamza Choudhury. Patson Daka is closing on a return but there is competition for places in attack, with Jamie Vardy and Jordan Ayew performing well.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS

The 5-2 victory last month was our 71st of all time against the Foxes, who were promoted back to the top flight this year.

We did the double over Leicester in 2022/23, thanks to Jadon Sancho scoring the only goal at the King Power Stadium. The winger, now on loan at Chelsea, netted again in a 3-0 success in the reverse fixture, with Marcus Rashford bagging the other two.

The East Midlands outfit won 2-1 at Old Trafford in 2021, which was their first three points at the Theatre of Dreams since January 1998.

FORM GUIDE

United are 13th in the table but looking upwards and aiming to remain unbeaten – across all competitions – during van Nistelrooy’s time in temporary charge. The Dutchman, who once scored a Premier League hat-trick against our weekend opponents, will be hoping to oversee a third home win in the competition this term, following victories over Fulham and Brentford.

Leicester sit in 15th spot and have handled the step up again pretty well. Jordan Ayew’s injury-time equaliser earned a point at Ipswich Town, Amorim’s first opponents after the break, last time out. The former Crystal Palace striker also hit a 98th-minute winner on the road at Southampton.

Cooper’s side caused Arsenal problems in a 4-2 defeat at the Emirates Stadium in September and their manager said after the cup loss that Old Trafford holds no fears for his team.
