Fee reduced from £70million – Player agrees terms and closes in to secure Manchester United exit

Garnacho Man Utd

Manchester United have adequately revamped their attack in the summer transfer window and are now focusing on getting rid of the players not wanted by Ruben Amorim.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Alejandro Garnacho is closing in on a move to Chelsea.

As per Fabrizio Romano, the Argentine international has already agreed personal terms of a contract with the Stamford Bridge outfit.

However, the Blues still need to reach an agreement with Manchester United to complete the signing of Garnacho.

Ruben Amorim has been looking to offload the South American attacker since the January transfer window. Back then, Napoli were interested but never came close to the asking fee of £70million demanded by the Red Devils.

Now, the price has been substantially reduced. According to BBC, United are ready to offload the 21-year-old for £50million.

Garnacho has made 144 senior appearances for Manchester United, but he has managed to perform on a consistent basis.

Last season, the La Albicelese attacker, who can feature on either flank and even as an AM, played 36 games in the Premier League, scored just 6 goals and managed only 2 assists.

Amorim needs his wingers to be able to defender and that is another area where Garnacho has not been able to shine.

He is talented, has a contract until 2028 and considering that he is 21 and can improve in the coming years, £50million seems to be a fair price.

Will Chelsea meet the asking fee to get the deal over the line. We shall see.
