Exclusive: Man United set their price for ‘world-class’ star who fell down Amorim’s pecking order

Manchester United are willing to part ways with Luke Shaw this summer if they receive an appropriate offer.

The Red Devils have already signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, while Benjamin Sesko has already agreed personal terms with the club, as he awaits an accord between Man Utd and RB Leipzig to finalise his transfer.

Nevertheless, the Premier League giants must offload a host of players to balance the books, beginning with the members of the so-called ‘bomb squad’, consisting of players deemed surplus to requirements. Thus far, INEOS have only managed to offload Marcus Rashford who signed for Barcelona on loan, while Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia are still lingering at Carrington.

Man United open to selling Shaw

Unlike the aforementioned outcasts, Shaw has been part of the manager’s plans, travelling with the squad to the United States for the pre-season tour. In fact, Amorim has been singing the left-back’s praise, hailing him as a ‘word-class’ player thanks to his classy touch and his ability to take on his man.

Nevertheless, reports earlier in the summer revealed that Shaw has suitors in the Saudi Pro League who are willing to lure him to the Middle East with a lucrative financial package.

According to sources close to Stretty News, Man United would consider selling the England international, despite Amorim’s honeyed words. After all, the 30-year-old might struggle to find space next season, especially in the absence of European football.

Why Luke Shaw could struggle for playing time this season

Man Utd already have two young options for the left wingback role in Patrick Dorgu and Diego Leon, while Ayden Heaven will be looking to carve himself a prominent role on the left of the three-man backline. Moreover, sources have revealed that Lisandro Martinez is close to making a ‘miraculous’ return to action much earlier than initially expected.

Therefore, United wouldn’t mind cashing in on Shaw if they receive an offer in the region of £17 million. This figure could be enough to convince INEOS, as it would represent a timely boost and a pure capital gain, since the player has been plying his trade at Old Trafford since 2014.

Nevertheless, it is important to note that neither Amorim nor the management will try to force the Southampton youth product out if he expresses his desire to stay.
