Ex-United star urges club to quickly sign “hottest property player” in the PL who suits them “down to the ground”

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ben Foster has told his former club that Liam Delap is tailor-made for them.

United are one of the many clubs, both in England and abroad, believed to be eyeing a summer move for Delap. Despite Ipswich Town’s struggles this season, Delap has impressed, scoring 12 goals and providing an additional two assists in 32 top-flight appearances.

The Red Devils have been mentioned to be favourites to land the 22-year-old, who is also wanted by Chelsea, Newcastle, Liverpool, Everton and Juventus, just to mention a few other clubs.

Delap has a £30m relegation release clause in his contract, which has only intensified interest in his services.

But he is not the only striker on United’s list. Ruben Amorim’s side are also keeping an eye on the likes of Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig), Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting Lisbon) and Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace).

Former United defender Paul Parker spoke exclusively to The Peoples Person and insisted that Delap should be United’s top transfer target and now, Foster has echoed his sentiments.

Speaking on his Ben Foster – The Cycling GK YouTube channel, Foster explained, “‘Liam Delap’s agent has produced here like you would not believe!”

“He deserves all of the pats on the back from Liam that he’s going to get. What’s going to happen now is: Liam Delap is going to have, I would say, the best part of ten to 12 big-boy teams looking at him.”

“And they will not only looking at him, they will be wanting to sign him and getting into his agent, saying, ‘Bring him to us, we will give him a £10m signing on fee, we’ll give him £150,000-a-week’, he will have ten of them doing it.”

“The agent will then go to the next club and go, ‘They’ve offered us £150,000-a-week and £10m so if you can just beat that by £160,000 or £170,000’… honestly.”

Foster continued, “He is probably the hottest property player in the Premier League at this moment in time. He would suit Manchester United down to the ground, he would suit Chelsea down to the ground, I think he would do well for Arsenal. All the teams we’ve mentioned there. He’s a throwback.”

United are back in action on Sunday when they face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
