Elite United target “relieved” he didn’t join Arsenal, “dream” move to Old Trafford on the cards – report

Rosenborg star Sverre Halseth Nypan is reportedly pleased he did not join Arsenal in the winter.

The Red Devils have been keen to add top young talent ever since Ineos took charge of the footballing operations of the club.

They have signed the likes of Chido Obi, Sekou Kone, Diego Leon, Leny Yoro and Patrick Dorgu who are all 20 years old or under.

United have also been linked to young Norwegian star Nypan, but it looked like they would be set to miss out on the talented midfielder as he flew to England to meet with numerous clubs.

Nonetheless, The Athletic reported at the end of last month that the 18 year old had decided to stay in Norway until the summer and reject the advances of the likes of Arsenal.

GIVEMESPORT have now reported that Nypan is happy that he turned down a move in the winter market, which has seen his options grow for the summer.

“Arsenal target Sverre Halseth Nypan is pleased that he did not jump at the chance to make the move to the Emirates Stadium during the winter transfer window despite the Rosenborg star refusing to rule out the possibility of completing the switch in the summer, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.”

The teenager has been labelled as an “elite talent” and he has previously admitted that it would be a “dream come true” to play for United.

The Peoples Person has already commented that he could be one of the youngsters who could help take United back to the top but Arsenal remain confident they can do a deal for the midfielder.

“GMS sources understand, while Manchester United have been looking very closely at his potential over the past year” and that £10 million could be enough to seal a deal.

Nypan scored eight goals and provided 10 assists in 33 matches for the Norwegians last year.

The new season in Norway kicks off at the end of next month, when a host of Europe’s top clubs will surely be paying close attention to the young star’s progress.
