Amorim ‘wants Man Utd star out’ as Red Devils boss makes ‘discontent known’ to board

Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim is looking to get one of his players out of the club at the end of the season, according to reports.

The Red Devils are having a terrible campaign with INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe making the decision to sack Erik ten Hag and replace him with Ruben Amorim in November.

Man Utd are currently 13th in the Premier League after their 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest in midweek and Amorim is already coming under pressure to turn around results and performances.

The strikers at Old Trafford have come under particular scrutiny this season with Rasmus Hojlund and Zirkzee scoring just five Premier League goals between them this season.

Only five Premier League sides have scored fewer goals than Man Utd this season and their attack could require some major surgery in the summer.

One player who doesn’t seem to suit Amorim’s style of play and tactics is Alejandro Garnacho with Spanish publication Fichajes claiming that the Argentina international is ‘the player Amorim wants out’ at Old Trafford.

The Man Utd winger ‘could leave Old Trafford in the summer as he does not have the approval of’ Amorim with his future at the Premier League club ‘beginning to look uncertain’.

Amorim has ‘made his discontent with the player’s defensive commitments known on more than one occasion’ and the youngster could be one of the first players out of the door in the summer.

The report adds: ‘The Portuguese manager’s arrival has shaken up several foundations at Old Trafford, and the South American’s case could be one of the first to be resolved during the summer transfer window.’

Fichajes continues:

‘In the eyes of the new manager, his attacking prowess doesn’t seem to compensate for his shortcomings in defensive play and teamwork. Amorim, who prioritizes tactical intensity and discipline, doesn’t see in the Argentine the committed player profile he demands for a long-term competitive team.

‘Although the striker’s talent is undeniable, his development has stalled in recent months. Opportunities have dwindled as the matchdays have passed, and rumors of a possible exit from the club have begun to grow louder. Teams in Italy and Spain have reportedly shown initial interest, knowing that this could be a market opportunity if United ultimately decides to open the door to him.

‘Those close to the player haven’t ruled out a move in search of playing time and confidence.’

United star’s wife involved in a shocking incident leading to a court case this week – report

It’s been a turbulent 18 months for Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana since he joined the club in the the summer of 2023.

Inconsistencies on the pitch haven’t helped his bedding period and now reports have emerged on a horrific off the field incident centred around the Cameroon international’s wife.

As covered by The Mirror, Onana’s partner, Melanie Kamayou was the victim of a robbery after leaving a restaurant in Cheshire at the end of last month.

Kamayou had a high value Hermes Birkin bag stolen from her as well as Rolex watch after dining in the Italian restaurant local to the couples home.

A 25-year-old male appeared before Chester Magistrates Court on Friday where he was charged with the offence.

The pair will hope justice will be done to the individual in order for them to attempt to put the incident behind them and continue to live their life without fear in and around the city.

The shocking incident may yet have an impact on the future of Onana who has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford after the sacking of Erik ten Hag and his unconvincing form.

Ruben Amorim seems to have bigger issues to resolve in the summer but it’s becoming more evident with each passing week that he will struggle to achieve his ultimate goals with Onana between the sticks.

The 29-year-old has given up goals too easily since joining the club and is likely to be replaced as part of the wider rebuild.

However, until then, Onana will remain United’s number one and everyone connected with the club will no doubt support the former Inter man, particularly through this difficult situation.

Onana is expected to start in the Manchester Derby tomorrow as United attempt to do the double over their noisy neighbours for the first time since the 2019/20 campaign.

A win for United will move them closer to the top half of the Premier League table and would, perhaps more importantly, provide a huge boost before the crucial trip to Lyon in the Europa League on Thursday.

United prepare sensational raid for South America’s next wonderkid before Arsenal get the chance – report

Manchester United reportedly hold a “strong interest” in River Plate wonderkid Ian Subiabre but will face fierce competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea to capture the 18-year-old midfielder.

A Renewed Focus on Youth

The Red Devils have demonstrated a renewed commitment to securing the best young talent across the footballing globe since INEOS assumed control at Old Trafford last year.

The raid on the Emirates to capture first Chido Obi (17) then, six months later, Ayden Heaven (18) from Arsenal has been paired with the acquisitions of Sekou Kone (18) from Guidars FC in Mali and Diego Leon (17) from Paraguayan side Cerro Porteño, demonstrating the sheer breadth of United’s approach.

And it’s one which INEOS will be hoping pays dividends in the near future as these talented youngsters continue their development in Manchester, rather than elsewhere with the club then forced to pay an astronomical fee for a player they could have signed for a fraction of the price a few years prior.

The Race for Subiabre

Subiabre has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in South America in recent months with the tricky winger’s performances for River Plate drawing attention from the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

The youngster only has a handful of appearances for Los Millonarios after being promoted to the first team following a strong season for the reserves. His skill and creativity shines through, however, possessing a dazzling ability with the ball and an innate confidence to take on defenders.

Chelsea were strongly linked with a move for the 18-year-old starlet as the London club continues its ambition to seemingly sign every winger in world football.

However, Subiabre has been on the radar of scouts at Old Trafford for some time now, with a report relayed by The Peoples Person a year ago revealing United’s interest in the young Argentine.

And it appears the interest has only strengthened in this time with Radio Continental reporter Sebastián Srur contending the Reds are tracking Subiabre closely: “Manchester United are very interested in the kid from Comodoro. The interest is strong.”

Translated Tweet: “I tell things about #Subiabre :From the information I have, and barring any last-minute unforeseen events, he’s set to start tomorrow in Junín. And I’ll also tell you that@Arsenal and #ManchesterUnited are very interested in the kid from Comodoro. The interest is strong. #River.”

Srur contends Arsenal hold Subiabre in a similarly high-regard with their interest also described as “strong”, meaning United face fierce competition from the blue and red sides of London.

It appears INEOS will have to move fast to trump their domestic rivals to sign the 18-year-old winger who is believed to be valued in the region of £20 million by River Plate.

10 shots, 92% pass accuracy, 3 key passes: United Women star does everything but score in frustrating night for national side

Manchester United Women were in action on a busy night of Nations League football in Europe.

Grace Clinton and Ella Toone played their part as England crushed Belgium 5-0.

Clinton had 52 touches and made 72% of her passes from the middle of the park. One of her passes was considered as a key pass as she probed the Belgian backline. She also had one shot off target and one that was blocked as she tried to add to her fantastic goalscoring season for club and country.

The 22 year old was also combative in the middle of the park winning five ground duels and making three interceptions as she was more than prepared to do the dirty work for her side.

Ella Toone started in a more advanced number 10 position for the Lionesses but only played 60 minutes of the encounter. She had 42 touches and completed 81% of her passes.

Toone completed her one long ball attempt and won three out of four ground duels that she participated in. It was on the whole a rather quiet night for the 25 year old who is usually the livewire for club and country.

Aoife Mannion played at right back as the Republic of Ireland impressively cast aside Greece 4-0 away from home.

The veteran defender played the whole 90 minutes and made five tackles, while blocking one shot. She impressively won five out of her seven ground duels for a completion rate of 71%. She also won one aerial battle.

Mannion was also a threat in attack as she had 68 touches of the ball and completed 84% of her passing attempts.

Dominique Janssen also started in defence for the Netherlands as they eased past Austria 3-1. She played the entire 90 minutes, making three clearances and blocking one shot.

Janssen only won one of her aerial duels but she was imperious on the ball, completing 96% of her 73 passes. The experienced Dutchwoman also completed 10 out of 10 long ball efforts as she set her team up time and time again on the attack.

Elisabeth Terland also had a busy night for Norway as she led the line for the entire match. She had two shots on target, four shots off target and four blocked shots as Norway played out a frustrating 0-0 draw with Iceland.

One of those chances was considered a big miss but she did complete 92% of her passes and three of them were considered key passes.

Finally Emma Watson played the last five minutes of Scotland’s humbling 0-4 defeat to Germany.

United aiming to do to City what they haven’t since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson

Manchester United welcome Manchester City to Old Trafford looking to do the double over their neighbours.

There have been 195 matches between the two sides in English football history, with United coming out on top 80 times in total. City have tasted victory 62 times while there have been 50 draws.

Here are three storylines to look forward to before the massive clash at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.

United aiming to improve good recent record against City

United fans haven’t had a great deal to shout about over the last few years by their own high standards but they have enjoyed more recent bragging rights in the derby.

The Red Devils defeated City 2-1 at the Etihad in December with a late goal by Amad. They also famously beat City last year 2-1 in the FA Cup final in May.

The BBC report that “Manchester United are aiming to complete their first league double over Manchester City since the 2019-20 campaign.”

Ruben Amorim’s side are also aiming “to go four matches without defeat against City for the first time since January 2010 to February 2011.”

United need to avoid defeat to not match and break two unwanted records

Even the most loyal United fan would admit this season has been very poor domestically.

There is the one bright spot of the Europa League campaign as United are in the quarter-finals of the competition but they have lost an incredible 13 league matches. Were United to lose tomorrow, they would equal last season’s worst-ever campaign loss total of 14.

What’s more, “United need to win all eight of their remaining top-flight games this season to avoid recording their lowest points tally in a Premier League season – currently 60, set under Erik ten Hag last year.”

With the side unable to win consecutive Premier League games all season, eight on the bounce seems an incredibly tall order.

Ruben Amorim’s strong record versus Pep Guardiola

Ruben Amorim has endured a lot of negative headlines since taking over the United job in November. Nonetheless, he could be on course to do what only two other managers have ever done.

“Having already recorded wins against City with Sporting and Manchester United this season, Ruben Amorim is aiming to become just the third manager to beat Pep Guardiola in three consecutive meetings, after Jurgen Klopp with Liverpool (twice) and Thomas Tuchel with Chelsea.”

The Old Trafford crowd and Amorim will be giving it their all on Sunday to ensure it comes to pass.

Viktor Gyokeres stance on Arsenal transfer as Man Utd target has asking price slashed

Viktor Gyokeres’ summer transfer preference has been revealed amid interest from Arsenal, Man Utd and Saudi Arabia, according to reports.

The Gunners look likely to fall short of their goals once again this season with Arteta’s side set to finish as runners-up in the Premier League for a third consecutive campaign.

Liverpool are 12 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal in the Premier League table with only a huge collapse from the Reds, who have only lost one match all campaign, allowing the Gunners a chance.

Arsenal are into the quarter-finals of the Champions League but not many neutrals are giving them a chance of progression, especially as they don’t currently have a senior centre-forward.

Despite potentially not reaching the heights they had hoped, Arteta looks set to go again next season with new sporting director Berta helping to support him in the summer transfer window.

Sporting CP striker Gyokeres seems top of their list of summer striker arrivals and The Sun claims that the Sweden international is ‘leaning towards’ a move to Arsenal over Man Utd or elsewhere.

The Sun reveal:

‘Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah FC – where Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is plying his trade these days – are ready to ruffle a few feathers in the battle for Gyokeres’ signature.

‘Sporting will want the biggest up-front fee they can get – instead of several low-fee instalments – and Al Qadsiah are capable of offering just that, even if it means going above and beyond Gyokeres’ current value.

‘Former Arsenal star Granit Xhaka in heated confrontation with Bayer Leverkusen ultras after humiliating defeat

‘That is bad news for Arsenal and Man Utd, who were hoping to get a clean run at Gyokeres, yet may be forced to pay more than they would have initially planned.

Man Utd target £75m pair as Premier League vultures prey on ten best players set to be relegated

The surprise win for Ipswich over Bournemouth at the Vitality gave them the tiniest glimmer of hope of staying up ahead of what we then assume will be a Premier League title win next season in a repeat of Leicester’s rags to riches story a decade ago.

But in all likelihood the Tractor Boys will join the Foxes and the Saints in marching back down to the Championship with what looks set to be the lowest combined points tally of a bottom three in history. They currently have 47 points between them, eight fewer than Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United at the same stage last season, who were the worst ever before this lot plumbed new depths.

But we’ll worry about what all the promoted teams going straight back down with record low points totals in consecutive seasons means for the future of football some other time. Instead we’re reassigning players set to be relegated – the ten best by our reckoning – to Premier League vultures.

Mads Hermansen (Leicester) – Manchester United
If our news team has learnt anything over the last few years it’s to never ignore the erudite opinions of former Manchester United full-back Paul Parker. His hot takes include Scott McTominay “not being good enough for Celtic” and Alejandro Garnacho being on course for the Ballon d’Orand we’ve strangely not heard all that much from him on his absolute favourite subject recently – the “workshy” antics of Marcus Rashford, who’s “never been good anyway”.

We therefore grabbed fistfuls of salt after reading his suggestion that Hermansen “has it all” and should be the man to replace the “useless” Andre Onana. The Dane certainly didn’t do much to enhance his reputation in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday, dropping a clanger to gift Omar Marmoush the second goal of the game.

But he ranks fifth among goalkeepers in the Premier League this season in terms of shot-stopping (Onana’s ninth), his distribution is decent and crucially for United – who supposedly sent scouts to watch Hermansen in January – Leicester’s £35m asking price set amid that interest is likely to drop significantly as they count the cost of relegation.

Tyler Dibling (Southampton) – Tottenham
The answer to ‘where does a mercurial young playmaker with huge potential go?’ is always Tottenham and it is never good advice. We wouldn’t wish Spurs on any such player at the best of times, let alone now as Ange Postecoglou wages war against his own fanbase while overseeing what may very well be their worst-ever season in Premier League history.

But the Australian miserabilist will surely be out on his ear come the summer, when we fully expect Daniel Levy to go back to Southampton after Saints responded to their £35m January bid with a £100m asking price and put £25m on the table like a drug dealer now offering heroin heavily cut with talcum powder to a desperate skaghead.

Victor Kristiansen (Leicester) – Brentford
He often starts ahead of Patrick Dorgu for Denmark, though we’re not quite sure if that says more about Manchester United’s decision to spend £25m on a Lecce full-back in January or Kristiansen himself.

But that combined with Kristiansen’s key role in helping Bologna into the Champions League last season should be enough to persuade a Premier League club to take a punt on a guy currently playing for a club where the horrible decision to appoint Ruud van Nistelrooy has made it nigh-on impossible for any player to give a good account of themselves.

Where else would a Scandinavian, specifically a Dane, go other than Brentford?

Liam Delap (Ipswich) – Manchester United
Kieran McKenna’s claim that Ipswich’s second goal of the game in the away win over Bournemouth was “the best anyone has scored here” is a safe statement in that disputing it requires people to remember any goal scored by anyone other than Liam Delap at the Vitality this season.

It was indeed “a fantastic move” though, finished in the most Liam Delap way, as rather than side-footing his shot in from the heart of the box he decided to leather it as hard as he possibly could.

It was sort of walloped goal we got used to seeing Erling Haaland score for Borussia Dortmund in that weird Covid period when everyone became experts on Bundesliga football as it returned before the Premier League, as his shots routinely forced the net off the ground before the base came back down with that hugely satisfying clang.

We’re not about to suggest United can sign The Next Erling Haaland for £40m, but there are definitely similar attributes aside from the F*** It I’m Whacking This style of finishing that’s actually disappointingly not so much a part of Haaland’s game these days – the physicality, running power, movement off the ball, confidence bordering on arrogance and that blinkered desire to score goals that’s currently lacking in both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

And we suspect United won’t be too bothered by how Delap scores if he too decides that battering the back of a football isn’t actually the best route to 30+ goals a season.

Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester) – Everton
No Premier League player has more combined tackles and interceptions than Idrissa Gueye (148) this season, which is a hugely impressive stat for a 35-year-old given what is in general a young man’s part of the game. Ndidi’s not young either and definitely feels like quite an old 28-year-old, but would be a low-cost short-term succession plan for David Moyes in search of a midfield fighter.

The Nigeria international has 4.3 tackles/interceptions per game this season, which is inferior to Gueye (5.65) but only slightly worse than “the best defensive midfielder in the world” Moises Caicedo (4.42), who’s second on the total list behind Gueye on 129.

Ndidi would also be a fittingly ‘meh’ marquee signing of the summer with which to open the new stadium and Bramley-Moore Dock.

Jaden Philogene (Ipswich) – Aston Villa
When Aston Villa sold Philogene to Hull City in the summer of 2023 for £5m, they included not only a 30% sell-on clause but a ‘matching rights’ deal. So just one excellent Championship season later, when Ipswich bid £18m for his services, Villa stepped in and bought him for £13.5m (£18m minus the sell-on fee) instead.

Then in January, after two Premier League starts, no goals, no assists and one red card, Ipswich Town were desperate enough to pay £20m for a footballer Villa very clearly didn’t actually want or need but were using as a pawn in PSR chess.

And we now assume the Villa geniuses inserted a relegation buy-back clause or some other method of re-signing Philogene for a nominal fee before selling him on to the next patsy in a money-making scheme that will continue indefinitely.

Kyle Walker-Peters (Southampton) – Liverpool
He’s at best fourth on the list of out-of-contract stars Liverpool want a signature from but with Trent Alexander-Arnold set to leave for Real Madrid and an apparent desire not to block Conor Bradley from the first team, a move for a right-back with 143 games of Premier League experience who will probably be reasonably happy with a bit-part role for a big team and is firmly in the Never Lets You Down category of footballers makes a whole lot of sense.

Leif Davis (Ipswich) – Liverpool
Davis was supposedly being monitored by Liverpool along with RB Leipzig’s David Raum and Fulham’s Antonee Robinson as a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson in November before Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez emerged as the clear left-back frontrunner, with Ipswich’s level dipping to such an extent in the meantime that the Premier League champions-elect signing any of their players feels implausible.

But there is the distinct possibility of both Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas leaving the club this summer, meaning Davis could be lured to Anfield on the basis of a battle for superiority with Kerkez ahead of what will more than likely be Carabao Cup appearances for the next four seasons.

READ MORE: Liverpool ‘dream’ deal one of six re-signings sporting directors are targeting this summer

Omari Hutchinson (Ipswich) – Crystal Palace
Hutchinson, like those of us who watched him in the Championship last season, probably expected a better return than three goals and two assists from his 27 appearances this season. But those contributions coming against Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Aston Villa (2) says something, as does him claiming the Player of the Match award for the England U21s vs Portugal in a team including Ethan Nwaneri, Harvey Elliott, Jobe Bellingham, Jarrod Branthwaite, Archie Gray and other players tipped to achieve great things and linked with big-money moves.

Palace bought Ismaila Sarr in the summer as a replacement for Michael Olise and the Senegal international has predictably failed to match his predecessor’s very high standards, impressing in fits and starts, much like Hutchinson for Ipswich.

If Oliver Glasner can time Sarr’s fits to coincide with Hutchinson’s starts and sub them in and out of the team accordingly he may well have an amalgam footballer to serve as a likeness to Olise next season.

Mateus Fernandes (Southampton) – Wolves
He’s one of very few Southampton players to come out of their horror season with any credit having arrived for his first season in the Premier League as a 20-year-old from Portugal. He will end the campaign with nearly as many appearances for Saints as he’s had previously in his senior career, laying on the most assists (3), creating the most chances (26) and winning possession in the final third more frequently per game (2.8) than any Southampton player.

Hailing from Portugal and given Wolves may well lose Joao Gomes in the summer amid interest from Liverpool, Molineux is the natural fit for Fernandes.

Injury-cursed United academy star in line for sensational return to first-team action – report

Manchester United loanee Dan Gore will return to action for Rotherham United this month according to new manager, Matt Hamshaw.

Gore has endured a torrid last two years on loan as he only managed one game on loan at Port Vale last season before injury ruined his campaign.

He started this season in United’s academy but secured a winter move to Rotherham where he grabbed an assist on his debut versus Birmingham City.

The 20-year-old midfieldder sadly picked up a foot injury shortly after and to date, has only played one match for his new side.

Former Rotherham manager, Steve Evans, claimed that Gore would make a return to first team action later this month but he was sacked just under a week ago.

The United academy star will now have the uphill task of impressing a new boss in what has already been an incredibly challenging loan spell.

What may work in the youngster’s favour is that Rotherham currently sit 15th in the League One table, with no threat of relegation or hope of promotion, so the new boss may be inclined to experiment with his squad and give the talented youngster a go.

Speaking after his debut win versus Northampton Town, the new manager Hamshaw claimed that he will be pleased to welcome Gore back into the squad and that he expects him to be available soon.

The Yorkshire Post carry comments from the new coach stating, “Dan is doing rehab at Man United at the minute.”

“He should be coming back within the next week and a half to two weeks. However, he will have had only two or three days on the grass. After about 60/70 minutes on Tuesday, I had no midfield options. I had striker options and that was it.”

This suggests that Gore may have a chance right away to impress if The Millers are struggling to find fit midfielders in their squad.

The news suggests that Gore might be in line to return versus Mansfield Town on Good Friday or Easter Monday, away to Wigan Athletic.

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has discussed where best to utilise the qualities of versatile defender Noussair Mazraoui.

The summer signing from Bayern Munich has been an unqualified success in his first season at Old Trafford, and really proved his adaptability over the course of the campaign.

Even deployed in a no.10 role during the Europa League game at Fenerbahce, under previous manager Erik ten Hag, the Morocco international has been able to impress, not only at wing-back or in the central defensive slots, but also on both flanks.

As recently as the midweek Premier League contest at Nottingham Forest, he ended up playing on the left and right of the three at the back, either side of fellow former Bayern man Matthijs de Ligt.

AMORIM Q&A | The boss answers questions on Amad, Mazraoui and an absent Manchester City player…

During his pre-match interview with club media ahead of the Manchester derby, reporter Mark Sullivan asked Ruben for his thoughts on the subject.

“It’s hard to see the best position,” admitted our head coach. “His background is like a full-back, in a defence of four.

“So in our way of playing, he can play in different positions. I see him as one of the defenders in this moment, because of his quality, he can defend.

“He can play one against one, defending, attacking. So I’m seeing him with a future to play as a wing-back and as a centre-back.”

Mazraoui played in the 2-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium in December and will hope to help the Reds do the double over our neighbours.

The 27-year-old has appeared in 30 Premier League matches since joining the club and will be an option to the boss again, in a variety of positions, as he prepares for the 16:30 BST kick-off on Sunday, particularly with De Ligt doubtful after sustaining an issue at Forest on Tuesday.

Isak picks Liverpool as Real Madrid poach trio: How every PL club’s best player leaves this summer

Kevin De Bruyne’s announced his departure and given the out-of-contract mess at Liverpool, another potless season incoming for Arsenal and the normal Big Club poaching of mid-to-lower table talent we’ve dreamed up what we believe to be a reasonable world in which every Premier League club loses their best player.

Disclaimer: We accept and understand that you may not think these players are the best at their clubs.

Arsenal: William Saliba to Real Madrid
Arsenal are supposedly working on a big new contract for Saliba to sign in the summer, but the upcoming clash with Real Madrid offers tapping-up opportunities with the Spanish giants supposedly ‘in love’ with the centre-back, who may also learn over the next couple of weeks that the only sure-fire way of winning the Champions League is by joining Los Blancos.

Aston Villa: Marco Asensio to Newcastle
He’s scored nine goals at a ludicrous rate of one every 60 minutes since his loan move from Paris Saint-Germain and Unai Emery has tasked Monchi with signing him permanently ‘at all costs’. PSG have supposedly set that cost at just €15m but failure to secure Champions League football could see Asensio’s head turned elsewhere, possibly in the direction of Newcastle, who are likely to have beaten Villa to the punch should Emery’s side fail to get the job done.

Bournemouth: Milos Kerkez to Liverpool
It seems there are only t’s to cross and i’s left to dot before Kerkez arrives at Anfield as Andy Robertson’s successor having been arguably the best left-back in the Premier League this season.

READ MORE: Liverpool ‘dream’ deal one of six re-signings sporting directors are targeting this summer

Brentford: Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United
The naysayers will claim he’s wholly unsuited to Ruben Amorim’s system but we believe the Manchester United tradition of chasing a top target until the last week of the transfer window before a panic buy will endure, with Amorim initially hailing Mbeumo’s “versatility” ahead of multiple failed position experiments before he escapes Old Trafford in a year’s time after the next manager insists he needs to bring in His Players.

Brighton: Kaoru Mitoma to Liverpool
Brighton reportedly rejected a whopping £75m bid from Al Nassr in the summer as Mitoma insisted he wanted to remain in Europe. Liverpool have previously been credited with interest and the rumoured departures of pretty much all of their current crop of forwards may turn their attention towards the Japan international.

Chelsea: Cole Palmer to Real Madrid
Florentino Perez likes nothing more than handing Carlo Ancelotti a selection headache and we thoroughly look forward to Palmer lining up at right-back ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold to shoehorn him into a team behind Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior.

Crystal Palace: Eberechi Eze to Arsenal
An ‘all-action midfielder’ is said to be one of the targets for Andrea Berta ahead of what will reportedly be a ‘seismic’ first transfer window for Arsenal’s new sporting director and Eze has all the actions.

READ MORE: How Andrea Berta should spend his £300m to win Arsenal the Premier League title

Everton: Idrissa Gueye to Al Ahli
No Premier League footballer has more combined tackles and interceptions this season than Gueye (148), who’s proving that age is just a number. Then again that number is 35, which is too high.

Fulham: Antonee Robinson to Arsenal
He appears to have lost to Kerkez in the race to Anfield, but Robinson has been brilliant for Fulham this season. He’s second to Gueye in tackles/interceptions on 129 and has ten assists from left-back, which is supposedly another position Berta has been tasked with recruiting in despite Myles Lewis Skelly, Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori proving more than enough depth amid the likely departures of Kieran Tierney and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

But given the only players Mikel Arteta likes more than left-backs are giants he’s not about to pass up the opportunity to sign a giant left-back.

Ipswich: Liam Delap to Manchester United
We have high hopes of Delap being the long-term replacement for Harry Kane in the England team and can think of no better method of that hope being dashed to nothing than a move to Manchester United, where up-and-coming strikes go to die. God help him.

Leicester: Wilfred Ndidi to Everton
Not quite the marquee signing the Toffees fans are hoping for with which to open their new stadium, but Gueye’s departure opens the door for a midfield battler.

Liverpool: Mohamed Salah to Al Hilal
It’s a case of when and not if Salah moves to Saudi Arabia, and while we keep being told there Is No Evidence Of Him Slowing Down, we would argue him being a bit pants in recent weeks after a long old season is some evidence of him slowing down and we’re not entirely convinced that handing him a hugely lucrative contract is actually the best idea. The best idea would have been doing that two years ago.

Manchester City: Kevin De Bruyne to San Diego FC
He’s off and while we don’t quite know where, we have too much love for the greatest midfielder in Premier League history to even conceive of him going to Saudi Arabia. San Diego – part-owned by Juan Mata – have been linked, and that sounds nice. We dare you to read his farewell statement without a tear in your eye.

Manchester United: Bruno Fernandes to Real Madrid
Amorim has told Fernandes he’s not going anywhere but we’re absolutely not having the suggestion that United would turn down £90m for their 30-year-old captain.

Newcastle: Alexander Isak to Liverpool
Arsenal want Isak just as badly but we’re guessing having had a taste for glory at Newcastle he wants to win more trophies.

Nottingham Forest: Murillo to Chelsea
Chelsea really need a centre-back and Murillo fits the profile of being young and… no, actually that’s it. The move is presumably contingent on the Blues qualifying for the Champions League, which we’re not convinced is going to happen, just as we’re not convinced that leaving Forest for any club outside the very best in Europe is a great idea right now. But Chelsea have remained very adept at attracting top talent throughout their struggles under the new owners.

Southampton: Tyler Dibling to Tottenham
The answer to ‘where does a mercurial young playmaker with huge potential go?’ is always Tottenham and it is never good advice, but we fully expect Daniel Levy to lowball the Saints into submission.

Tottenham: Cristian Romero to Atletico Madrid
Romero has always played for Tottenham with an air of knowing he’s better than them, which may or may not be the case because just as Ange Postecoglou’s fun, free-flowing Spurs were a flash in the pan, we’re not sure Romero is anywhere near as good as he thinks he is. He’s unquestionably fiery though and fiery sh*thosues belong at Atletico Madrid under Diego Simeone.

West Ham: Jarrod Bowen to Newcastle
Jacob Murphy has five goals and eight assists in the Premier League this season but he could double that tally and still be one of the first names picked out as requiring an upgrade at Newcastle as no-one can get past the idea that a player signed for £8m from Norwich could ever be good enough to be playing Champions League football.

Bowen has just one more goal contribution after seven goals and seven assists for West Ham, who have added the captaincy as a barrier to his transfer. But like anyone, Bowen would presumably jump at the chance to play in the Champions League, and Eddie Howe loves an English winger.

Wolves: Matheus Cunha to Arsenal
We’re assuming Cunha can persuade them that the reason the red mist has descended on several occasions this season was just because he was playing for Wolves.
