0% dribble attempts, 0% cross completion, 17% duels won: United are so lucky to be selling this dysfunctional star

Jadon Sancho continued his poor form for Chelsea in the club’s vital 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

The England international has hit the headlines recently as the Blues were rumoured to be having doubts about signing the United winger at the end of the season due to his poor form.

Chelsea have an obligation to buy the player in the summer but it was reported that they could exit the deal by paying United compensation of £5 million.

Nonetheless, it appears that the club will buy him but they could also look to immediately sell him as Borussia Dortmund appear interested in his services once more.

Sancho played 68 minutes in Chelsea’s match yesterday and failed to score or assist for the 14th consecutive game.

He did complete 23 of his 26 passes and had 38 touches of the ball.

Sancho was involved in two major instances in the first half. He ran at the Spurs’ defence and played in Cole Palmer who fired the ball across goal in what almost ended up as a goal for the blues.

The winger also missed a golden chance to break his duck. He controlled a deep ball into the box and got a shot off quickly but it was well tipped away by Guglielmo Vicario.

He failed to complete any of his crossing attempts and was unsuccessful in his two dribbling attempts as he struggled to break down the Tottenham defence.

The 25 year old was also poor defensively as he only won one out of his six ground duels for a percentage of 17% and 0% of his aerial duels.

He also lost the ball nine times in the game.

Sancho will hope to have another chance from the start to break his goal and assist drought when Chelsea travel to face Brentford on Sunday afternoon.

Dalot: Fans right to expect something special

Diogo Dalot admits Manchester United’s supporters will be expecting the team to produce something special in Sunday’s derby with City.

After beating the Blues in the reverse fixture, 2-1 in December, there is the chance to do the double over our neighbours and hamper their bid to get into next season’s Champions League.

It is a long time since the Old Trafford faithful have seen their favourites in action, as our last outing on home turf was on 13 March, when Real Sociedad were put to the sword, 4-1 in the Europa League.

Our previous Premier League assignment at the Theatre of Dreams was the 1-1 draw with Arsenal on 9 March, almost a month ago by the time Sunday’s 16:30 BST kick-off comes around.

In an exclusive interview with United Review, the official matchday programme, Dalot was in no doubt that the fans will expect a performance befitting the occasion, and showing the grit and determination required to come out on top on derby day.

“There’s the history, the rivalry,” he said of the fixture. “I would say it’s a game that everybody wants to watch, and everybody wants to play in. That makes it special. So we’re looking forward to a big game in our stadium, with a big atmosphere.

“For this game against City, we have to recover well because the games are coming fast. But, at the same time, we’re going to play one of the best games that you can play in the Premier League, so that has to give you a little extra when you come on to the pitch.

“Sometimes, no matter the form, no matter the previous results, when you go to a derby, or a game like this, anything can happen. And I think every United fan that comes to Old Trafford on Sunday will expect that something special can happen, and they can see a good game. We have to give everything we can to give that performance. But, in the end, we want to win. That’s our focus.”

Even though it has been a disappointing season for both Manchester clubs, there is still the prospect that both could end up with more silverware, with United in the last eight of the Europa League and soon-to-be deposed champions City facing an Emirates FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest at Wembley.

Yet all the focus, for the two camps, will squarely be on this weekend’s local affair, despite the challenges that lie on the horizon.

“Every game that you play against the big teams, and European nights, are always special, but when you play City, Liverpool, I think the atmosphere… you can feel it,” enthused Dalot. “It’s a little bit different, for the better, so I’m expecting exactly the same on Sunday.

“When the stadium is like that when the fans are with us, it gives us an extra boost. Like I said, these are almost like one-off games. You know that to win these type of games, you have to be in your best form, best shape, mentally and physically.

“So, on Sunday, it will be one more of these games. Obviously, we want to win. We want to do it in a controlled way and we want to do what we can to plan for the game. But in games like this, everything can happen. So we have to be prepared for any scenario and at the same time, go to the pitch really confident.”

There has been one constant during the frustrating campaign for the Reds, the backing of our loyal supporters.

That is certain to be the case when the action kicks off this weekend, with optimism still high that Amorim’s methods are starting to work.

“I think the fans are the most consistent thing about this club,” admitted our wing-back. “The way they support the club, they support us, the staff, the manager. So that we can expect. Obviously, we have to give them something back and, hopefully, it’s a win.”

Read the extended interview with Diogo Dalot only in Sunday’s United Review, the official matchday programme.

Big Weekend: Man Utd v Man City, Nottingham Forest, Kiwior, Slot, Postecoglou misery-enders

It is not, perhaps, the biggest of Manchester Derbies in the grand scheme, but it is still a Manchester Derby and the sort of game in which United have been less sh*t than usual this season, while elsewhere there is plenty of scope to learn more about the battle for this season’s European places and what the next couple of weeks might bring for those still engaged in continental action this time around.

Game to watch: Man United v Man City
Here’s the thing about Manchester United. They are, obviously, quite rubbish. They are where they are in the league and there is no grave misfortune about that position.

But there are three distinct category of matches when it comes to United. There are games against the three worst teams in the league; United usually win those. There are games against the four teams they once had serious Premier League rivalries with in happier times; and they do just about okay in those as well, all things considered.

And then there are games against the other 12 Premier League teams, whose own qualities range from ‘Nottingham Forest’ and ‘Newcastle’ all the way to ‘Tottenham Hotspur’ and ‘Wolves’, and in those games United are neither good enough to win despite themselves nor able to summon up some long-dormant muscle memory and pull a performance out of their arse, and thus do very badly indeed.

United have 16 points from a possible 18 against the doomed three, the only blip of any kind there a 1-1 draw at Ipswich in Ruben Amorim’s first game – one overshadowed in the end, of course, by all that Sheerangate unpleasantness.

In six games so far against Arsenal, Liverpool, City and Chelsea United have six points. Which isn’t good, obviously, but it’s better than everything else they’ve done this season suggests it ought to be.

Because in their remaining 18 games against The Rest they have managed a mere 15 points and only four wins.

So what we’re saying here is that with no more games to come against the bottom three, this is in fact the easiest game left for United this season against a Man City side who still absolutely cannot be trusted.

Player to watch: Jakub Kiwior
Set to deputise from the start at Everton for the injured Gabriel Magalhaes with, we assume, Thomas Partey once again pressed into emergency right-back duties in the absence of both Ben White and Jurrien Timber.

With the very greatest of respect to David Moyes’ revitalised and re-energised side, it’s not really Everton that we’re worried about here. Arsenal’s title chances are already beyond remote, but there is also no plausible route where – nor real evidence of – Arsenal’s season collapsing to the point where Champions League qualification becomes any kind of concern. There is no grave peril here, really.

But what we will see is a makeshift defence trying to learn on the job ahead of a far more difficult and far more significant challenge over the 10 days that follow Saturday’s final trip to Goodison Park for Arsenal.

It’s not that Beto and co. will be easy – Virgil van Dijk can attest that it absolutely will not. It’s just that if Kiwior, a player on his way out at Arsenal and whose only two Premier League starts this season came back in December, shows even the slightest hint of frailty here then the omens for what might follow against Real Madrid are… not good at all.

Manager to watch: Arne Slot
And we mean this really quite literally. Maybe it’s just something about Everton and derby days that brings something out of him – sweary angryman at Goodison, bouncing ball of nervous energy at Anfield – but given that his team are now pretty much definitely going to win the league it will be interesting to see if he is a bit more his usual self again for a lower-profile but certainly not easy trip to Fulham.

Slot was not alone in his nervousness against Everton, and there was a distinct chicken-and-egg feel to who was spreading nerves to who among manager, players and fans after a long break without any kind of football and an absurd 25 days without winning a game.

If serenity has returned at Craven Cottage following the resumption of something approaching normal service during the week we can all chalk it up to circumstance and say no more about it. If he’s still a bit manic then it won’t affect this season much now but will give pause for thought about what happens in the very likely event that whatever fight Liverpool find themselves in whatever part of the table next season is somewhat tighter than this year’s.

Team to watch: Nottingham Forest
‘They will regress to the mean soon enough!’ I continue to insist as I slowly shrink and transform into a corn cob.

Forest, meanwhile, march ever onwards towards the Champions League and a shot next season at adding a third star to that shirt. Seems unlikely they will do that, sure, but this time last year Forest cruising through pretty much the entire season in third place also seemed a touch far-fetched.

This weekend represents another huge opportunity for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to really strengthen their position – especially with the way the fixtures have fallen.

Of their remaining major rivals for the three remaining Big Cup spots below Liverpool and Arsenal, only Brighton are in action before them on Saturday afternoon, and they face an awkward trip to hated rivals Crystal Palace anyway.

Chelsea and Man City both have difficult away games on Sunday, while Newcastle don’t play until Monday. Don’t look up who they’re playing against, it doesn’t matter.

It means if Forest can engineer a win at an Aston Villa side who wouldn’t be human if they don’t have at least half an eye on the midweek date with PSG, they are almost there. They will be 12 points clear of Villa, for one thing, but also for a day at least eight clear of Chelsea and nine better off than Man City.

They will be 10 points clear of sixth place. It will be within touching distance.

Football League game to watch: Luton v Leeds
One of those games that tend to come around at this time of the season with a really interesting dynamic. Every season there always seem to be teams right at the top of any league who are suddenly stumbling desperately for the finish line, and teams right at the bottom who have suddenly figured it out and in last-ditch desperation start picking up points at a rate far beyond their year-long efforts.

And sometimes, if you’re really lucky, those teams play directly against each other. So here we get second-last against second in the overall table, yet pitting a team with one win in their last five against a team with three wins in their last five.

Suddenly, it’s a far more interesting match in April than it could ever have hoped to be any earlier in the season.

European game to watch: Werder Bremen v Eintracht Frankfurt
With no standout fixture among the crystallising title races in Italy and Spain, while Germany and France have joined England in not really bothering to have such a thing this season, let’s go for something a little different and have a look at the team who over the next couple of weeks are charged with the task of finally, once and for all, putting Ange Postecoglou out of his Tottenham misery.

The sight of him cupping his ears to the Spurs fans at Chelsea, claiming apparent credit for the brilliant strategy of telling Pape Sarr to twat home an equaliser, only for the goal to subsequently be ruled out anyway, really should have been the end. But won’t be.

It would’ve been the most embarrassing way a Spurs managerial reign has ever ended, and they once sacked a manager at half-time.

Instead, he will rumble on until the remote theoretical possibility of winning the Europa League is extinguished, most likely over the next fortnight by the third-best team in Germany.

What’s interesting here, though, is that so clear was Eintracht’s Europa focus ahead of the last-16 games against Ajax that they lost both the Bundesliga games that preceded them, at home, 4-1 to Bayer Leverkusen and more starkly to strugglers Union Berlin.

Should they prevail at Werder Bremen on Saturday, therefore, we can deduce with absolute certainty they are very correctly less worried about Ange’s misery-ridden mess of a team than they were about Jordan Henderson and co. You simply cannot argue with the logic.

Arsenal linked with more than £300m worth of world football’s most tempting release clauses

Arsenal and Andrea Berta are already on top of the most tempting release clauses in world football, with Manchester United sniffing around a few too.

This is an inexhaustive list of players with release clauses which could actually viably be triggered from summer 2025 onwards. We are talking sub-£100m, not your daft £1bn La Liga jobs.

Goalkeepers with tempting release clauses

Joan Garcia
Arsenal are leading ‘half of Europe’ in the race to sign a keeper they almost landed last summer
. They will be hoping for smoother talks with Espanyol, and perhaps even for them to lose their La Liga relegation battle as a £20.9m release clause would drop to £12.5m.

Vanja Milinkovic-Savic
If Chelsea or Manchester City act on their apparent £16.7m interest in the Torino keeper and brother of Sergej then expect every other Ruben Amorim press conference to be spent explaining why no-one currently at Manchester United should really be blamed for releasing a teenager who couldn’t get a work permit in 2015. He is 6ft 8ins so that’s something.

Defenders with tempting release clauses

Dean Huijsen
Bournemouth spent £12.8m on a teenaged centre-half whose professional career comprised of 15 appearances for Juventus and Roma last July; within a season they are preparing for a £50m auction on their full Spain international.

Jeremie Frimpong
The homegrown bonus of Manchester City academy product Frimpong is obvious but even without it his brilliance at wing-back for Bayer Leverkusen will convince many that £33.5m is something approaching a steal.

Kevin Lomonaco
“I really like the Premier League. It’s what I watch the most. I like West Ham,” should raise an absurd number of red flags within the departments of any and all clubs charged with scrutinising the character and even sanity of 23-year-old Lomonaco. The centre-half has attracted interest from the Hammers, Crystal Palace, Sevilla and Wolfsburg in his £16.7m release clause.

Midfielders with tempting release clauses

Martin Zubimendi
It is still widely assumed that Arsenal have wrapped up a £50.1m deal
for Zubimendi early and avoided all those awkward Didn’t Want Him Anyway hoops Liverpool forced themselves to jump through last summer. But they could start bottling transfers instead of just titles to put the Real Sociedad lifer back on the market.

Eberechi Eze
Crystal Palace averted the potential crisis of having both Eze and Michael Olise’s release clauses triggered in the same summer but the fine print in the former’s deal will be reactivated in the summer. There will be no shortage of potential suitors at £68m.

Matheus Cunha
Not two months separated Cunha signing a four-and-a-half year contract extension with an improved release clause of £62.5m, and the Brazilian saying he has “made it clear that I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things,” before claiming to have been misquoted. The reality is that 15 goals and four assists in 29 games for a relegation-battling side will sufficiently tempt someone.

Nico Williams
Andrea Berta might have taken up the easiest post in world football considering Arsenal are pursuing yet another player whose valuation is certain. The sporting director just needs to fill in the gaps of persuading Williams that a £48.4m move to north London is in his best interests.

Forwards with tempting release clauses

Viktor Gyokeres
Another Arsenal target – to the chagrin of many supporters – but really any aspiring team in world football will have at least taken a look at Gyokeres before wincing ever so slightly at that £86m release clause. Sporting are among the best sellers across the globe and will back themselves to get the best possible deal.

Mohammed Kudus
After this season especially, it feels unlikely that any club will meet the £85m release clause written into the West Ham contract of Kudus. It is even higher for Saudi Arabian clubs, who do indeed have their limits.

Victor Osimhen
A record of 28 goals and five assists in 32 games for Galatasaray can be disregarded through the Turkish Super Lig rule of transfers but his age, affordability (£62.5m) relative to other strikers on the market and undoubted pedigree in Serie A cannot. Osimhen should be top of the Manchester United shopping list.

Benjamin Sesko
There is some debate as to the exact numbers which would compel Leipzig to countenance the sale of Sesko – £62m is the strongest recent claim – but less doubt about whether his record of 35 goals in 79 appearances in Germany is worth the risk on a 21-year-old.

Liam Delap
The highest-scoring new signing in the Premier League this season is one of only eight players aged 22 or under to reach double figures for goals in Europe’s top five divisions. It would be grossly unfair if Ipswich were able to bring that down to the Championship so the fact a £40m release clause becomes active upon their relegation makes sense.

Managers with tempting release clauses

Andoni Iraola
Bournemouth have quietly gone seven games without a win in 90 minutes to bring their dream of European qualification combined with FA Cup glory crashing back down to reality. But they will not waver in their determination to extend Iraola’s contract – and perhaps even remove that £10m release clause with Spurs lurking in the shadows.

“He’s going nowhere”: David Ornstein explains why United star INEOS desperate to sell will remain at Old Trafford

Ruben Amorim needs a lot of help in the summer given Manchester United’s current form and INEOS might need to move players on in order to raise cash for incomings.

Big-name players like Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo have been earmarked for huge sales while the co-owners also want to move on injury-prone stars like Luke Shaw.

Mason Mount is another player who has been hardly available since his £55 million move last summer. This season, the Englishman has garnered a grand total of 414 minutes of action with only six starts coming his way while the player has not completed 90 minutes in either of those appearances.

Last season, the ex-Chelsea ace managed 756 minutes, and in total he has missed 31 games last time out and has already been sidelined for 30 games this term.

Mount’s poor injury record

The 26-year-old cannot be blamed for his injury troubles but it makes very little sense for United to keep paying his £250,000 gross per week wages (via capology) given his poor availability.

But Amorim is a huge fan of the England international and feels his off-the-ball work fits his system perfectly while the midfielder can slot in at multiple positions.

“Mason Mount… I have to tell you I love that kid. You can look in his eyes that he wants this so bad. And this is the most important thing for me,” the head coach was quoted as saying.

“I know he was suffering from injuries, he was not on the pitch, but now he’s trying to stay fit and we hope he can continue to be fit, to show all the talent that he’s shown, for example, in Chelsea.”

And despite being linked with an exit, The Athletic‘s David Ornstein claims the 20-time English league champions will not sell the United No 7 in the summer.

Not only because the Portuguese tactician is a fan but also because United are unlikely to receive a high bid for the injury-prone star and they do not want to incur a loss at this stage.

Mount to stay

“I don’t expect Mason Mount to leave. Manchester United will be focused on keeping him fit and bringing the best out of him, because they think he is a great fit for Ruben Amorim’s setup and style.

“Furthermore, I can’t see any club offering Manchester United the level of money to produce an accounting profit — and there will naturally be reservations about his injury record. I imagine he’s going nowhere.”

Mount’s cameo against Nottingham Forest was encouraging as he went close with a shot from the edge of the box. Now, he has to start games and influence proceedings like he did during his time at Stamford Bridge.

But given his injury struggles, United fans are not holding their breath. This move looks destined to be another big-money deal gone wrong.

United star makes surprise revelation about Amorim that caught him and his teammates off guard

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has revealed that Ruben Amorim initially spoke Portuguese to the entire squad, catching a number of players off guard.

Amorim was appointed United head coach in November last year following Erik ten Hag’s sacking.

The former Sporting CP gaffer has endured a difficult start to life at Old Trafford, losing 10 of the 29 games he has overseen.

United are currently languishing in 13th position with eight Premier League games left to play. A top-half finish appears to be a tall order, and the Europa League remains the club’s only way of salvaging the campaign and in the process, qualify for the Champions League.

Dalot has been one of Amorim’s trusted lieutenants since he assumed control of the team and now, the full-back has opened up on life under his fellow countryman.

According to Dalot, Amorim initially found it difficult to switch from Portuguese to English while addressing his players.

Dalot told talkSPORT, “It was funny because sometimes he was so used to it in the beginning, to speak Portuguese, that he would start speaking Portuguese to all the players.”

“And the players were like: ‘Boss, come on, you’re speaking [Portuguese]’. And he was like: ‘Oh, sorry!’”

“And he started already with English, but it’s a normal adaptation, I’ve been there. When I arrived, it was exactly the same.”

“I think it [speaking English] was something that he obviously tried to make sure as soon as he arrived, to adapt really quick for everybody not to feel [left out]. Obviously sometimes it’s easier for him to communicate in Portuguese in the first few months.”

“But now I think it became completely normal for him to speak English.”

Dalot told talkSPORT that Amorim’s honesty is perhaps his best quality.

“I think it’s one of the best compliments that you can give about him, is that he’s really honest. I think you can see that when he speaks, he’s not trying to give the right answer. He just speaks from the heart. And it’s difficult for a manager to always be completely honest. But I think it’s something that since I’ve known him as a manager, he’s always been like that.”

Dalot continued, “And then, people will judge him by his words, by his actions. But that’s part of football. We, football players, will be judged by what we do on the pitch. So as a manager, you’re always exposed to that. But I think he’s a really good communicator, so he will be fine.”

The 26-year-old star emphasised that all the players feel Amorim’s impact and are fully behind him.

Price slashed by €20m for “exceptional” creative force who would be perfect successor to Bruno Fernandes – report

Manchester United are looking at recruiting a creative midfielder for their squad in the summer as Ruben Amorim looks to add goals after what has been a dismal season for the Red Devils.

Christian Eriksen is expected to leave upon the expiration of his current deal while Amad, who has excelled as a No 10, could be shifted to wingback upon his return from injury.

Both Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho‘s futures remain up in the air but the biggest blow could come from the possible sale of Bruno Fernandes, who is a target for Real Madrid.

Which is why INEOS are monitoring potential replacements should the club captain depart, which will be against the head coach’s wishes.

Attacking midfielder wanted

Brentford’s Mikkel Damsgaard has emerged as a surprise target while Eberechi Eze has also been mentioned as a possible solution. But as per TBR Football, a long-term United target could become available in the summer.

Xavi Simons has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford but his humongous price tag was enough to dissuade the 20-time English league champions from a concrete approach.

But as per journalist Graeme Bailey, RB Leipzig are open to letting the 21-year-old leave and his price has been slashed from €80 million to €59 million with the player himself open to a new challenge.

And given the financial constraints INEOS are operating amidst, such a steep price reduction could make the difference between a possible deal materialising or not.

“TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Xavi Simons is ready to leave RB Leipzig in the summer. Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle United have all been linked with the Dutchman’s signature.

Simons price drop

“RB Leipzig are willing to let the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder leave but their asking price is currently set at £50 million.

“TBR Football understands that a next move involving Simons is being worked upon by his representatives and intermediaries.”

The “exceptional” talent has eight goals and six assists in 27 games, while last season he had 10 goals and 14 assists. He can play not only as an attacking midfielder but also out wide if needed.

Ideally, United do not lose Fernandes and can recruit Simons to play alongside the new striker. But whether the co-owners can splurge so much on a midfielder after bringing in a striker will be interesting to see.

Victor Osimhen makes huge decision on his future, it will completely reshape United’s summer window – David Ornstein

Tuesday’s 0-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League made it crystal clear for all to see how much Manchester United need a ruthless striker next season.

The Red Devils had 23 shots, three times the shots Forest managed, but still could not find the back of the net. In fact, it was centre-back Harry Maguire, brought on as a makeshift No 9 in the dying stages, who came closest to restoring parity.

Ruben Amorim’s decision to play Joshua Zirkzee, who is more of a link-up player than a finisher, up top and drop in-form Rasmus Hojlund did not work out with the lack of cutting edge proving to be the difference in the end.

The Portuguese tactician wanted INEOS to sign his Sporting CP protege Viktor Gyokeres but the Swede wants to play in the Champions League, something that might not be on offer at Old Trafford.

Osimhen was a top target for United

As a result, Victor Osimhen had overtaken the Swede as the club’s priority target and there was good news on that front with The Peoples Person relaying that the Nigerian was open to moving to Manchester even if the Red Devils do not win the Europa League this season.

Given his incredible record of 28 goals and five assists for loan club Galatasaray this season, it was easy to see why United were eyeing him.

The 26-year-old had even turned down Juventus in the hopes of moving to the Premier League but his humongous wages was something United would need to negotiate before proceeding.

However, The Athletic‘s ever-reliable David Ornstein has now put an end to these rumours by claiming that the Napoli ace has his eyes on moving to Saudi Arabia in the summer.

Dreams crushed

“There seems to be a consensus among Premier League clubs that Victor Osimhen’s most likely destination is Saudi Arabia.”

Given his wage demands and Napoli’s asking price, it makes a lot of sense. But it will be a huge blow for Amorim and United who will have to return to the drawing board with regards to finding an alternative.

Liam Delap has emerged as a serious option with Ipswich Town’s impending relegation allowing the 20-time English league champions to grab him for a cut-price fee.

Other low-cost options like Lorenzo Lucca and Dusan Vlahovic are also on the table and it will be intriguing to see which striker ultimately moves to United.

Brilliant United ace eyeing treble of awards as he receives nomination for another coveted prize

Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes is in contention to win the PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month award for March.

Fernandes was brilliant in March, scoring six goals in United’s five games across all competitions. Two of these goals were scored in the Premier League.

He converted a superb free-kick in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal and then got on the score sheet late on as the Red Devils beat Leicester City 3-0 at the King Power Stadium.

Against Leicester, he also provided assists for Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho – two players who had each gone for more than 20 games without finding the back of the net.

Fernandes started March with an equaliser against Fulham in the FA Cup although it eventually didn’t count for too much as United were dumped out of the competition on penalties.

He grabbed a sensational hat-trick in the home leg of the Europa League last 16 against Real Sociedad, to send United to the quarter-finals of the competition, where they will face Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.

The 30-year-old’s hat-trick in the win over Sociedad was just his second for United since he joined the club from Sporting CP five years ago.

Fernandes’ performances earned him United’s Player of the Month award and it has been reported that he has won the Premier League’s equivalent.
