Manchester United are eyeing players from the Premier League as well as abroad as they look to address a key position this summer. The Red Devils are all set to bid farewell to Casemiro at the end of this season. The Brazilian’s contract expires in a couple of months, and while his recent brilliant form has propelled talk of a renewal, he has already announced that he will leave. Casemiro has forged a stellar relationship with Kobbie Mainoo in the middle of the park under caretaker manager Michael Carrick. The 34 year old has shielded the backline well, while also contributing in the final third. Casemiro has already scored nine goals this season and replacing him will be no mean feat. United have shown a preference for Premier League-proven talent in the transfer market of late, but that has not stopped them from monitoring players from foreign leagues. A previous report relayed by The Peoples Person states that the Red Devils have identified Gabriel Sara as an option for the job. Galatasaray’s Samba Star A product of the Sao Paulo academy, Sara also has experience of playing in England with Norwich City in the Championship. The Brazilian left the Canaries in the summer of 2024 to move to Galatasaray, where he has gone from strength to strength of late. This season, Sara has registered six goals and five assists in 42 appearances across all competitions, 31 of which have been starts. He is under contract with the Turkish club until 2029. The 26 year old is entering his prime and his ability to carry out several roles in the middle of the park also makes him an enticing option for United. The Premier League giants could be interested in securing more than one midfielder this summer, with Manuel Ugarte’s future also up in the air. The Red Devils are expected to sign a top Premier League star like Elliot Anderson or Carlos Baleba to partner Mainoo at the heart of the midfield. Meanwhile, a move for Sara could help add depth to the squad ahead of a testing season. However, it now appears that United could face competition from Serie A in the race. Napoli eyeing Sara According to Calciomercato.it, Napoli have identified Sara as an option to upgrade their midfield this summer. The transfer could materialise for €35–40 million, although the Serie A side are yet to make a move for the Brazilian. The report states: “Capable of playing both in front of the defence and a few yards further forward, the left-footed player is under contract with Galatasaray until 30 June 2029 and, according to Calciomercato.it, is valued at at least €35–40 million by the Turkish club.” “As things stand, according to our information, Napoli have not yet made any concrete moves to sign the player.” The report acknowledges that the price tag and intense competition for Sara could pose a problem for Napoli, adding: “In addition to the high price tag, another hurdle for all Italian clubs is the fierce competition in the Premier League (Aston Villa, Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham, among others) and in Spain (Atlético Madrid as an alternative to Ederson or João Gomes).” Final Thoughts United could be tempted to move for Sara as a bargain option, provided that the finances involved are favourable. The Red Devils’ priority target, however, should be a Premier League-proven midfielder like Anderson, who could hit the ground running at the Theatre of Dreams. United strike gold in pursuit of £80m dribbling demon who wants to become Red Devil – report
Manchester United are expected to make a strong push for the signing of Aston Villa talisman Morgan Rogers. Rogers is enjoying a prolific season for Villa, who may rely on their superstar forward to get them over the line in the race for the Champions League places. The failure to secure a place in Europe’s premier competition may have a massive impact on Villa’s transfer business over the summer. However, before even waiting for their fate to be sealed, the club is considering parting ways with Rogers. Aston Villa open to parting ways with Morgan Rogers According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Morgan Rogers is a serious Manchester United target. Speaking to The United Stand, Jacobs claimed that the 23-year-old attacking midfielder, who is also capable of playing as a left winger, is not agitating for a move. However, Villa feel he is at the right age and it is the right time to cash in. The England international is reportedly priced at £80 million or more, likely depending on a potential bidding war, with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain also keen on the dazzling dribbler who possesses impeccable ball-striking ability. Manchester United want Morgan Rogers to play on left wing Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp recently labelled him as “one of the world’s best” midfield players. United supposedly view him as a left-sided option. The Red Devils want a new winger to add more width into the side, with Matheus Cunha thriving more as an inside forward. It is believed Rogers has admirers among senior figures at United. With a win over Brentford, Michael Carrick has all but guaranteed that for the Mancunians. Carrick managed Rogers during his time at Middlesbrough and it is thought the Englishman would be keen to reunite with the Villa star if he gets the permanent job at United. “Proud of how far I’ve come”: United Women history maker to depart after eight seasons
Manchester United Women will be losing one of their original players this summer. Leah Galton career Millie Turner, Ella Toone and Leah Galton are the only footballers who have remained at the club since their maiden season in 2018. Galton has played 171 times for the Red Devils, scoring 44 goals in all competitions. Before joining United, she played for Leeds United and Sky Blue FC in New York. She also made two appearances for German side Bayern Munich in the 2017–2018 campaign. Galton has seen her influence dwindle drastically over recent months and has only made nine appearances this season without scoring a goal. Her lack of appearances has not been helped by an ongoing back injury that she has battled for the majority of the season. Galton to depart The club’s website has announced that, “Leah Galton will leave Manchester United Women after eight proud years, when her contract expires this summer.” The site adds that, “Leah has worn our no.11 shirt with pride and carved out an honourable legacy as a United player, which began by helping the Reds win the second-tier title in 2018/19.” Galton is also the club’s leading scorer in Barclays Women’s Super League history, with 35 goals in all. The winger also played in the club’s only trophy success to date, the FA Cup victory over Tottenham Hotspur in 2024. Commenting on her career at the club she said, “I never thought I would be here for this long and still doing the thing I love doing, so I’m always proud of how far I’ve come. It’s been a journey and I’m just happy to have done it here. I know the girls will go on to do great things and I’m excited to see that.” Moreover, her coach of five years, Marc Skinner, claimed, “Leah has played an important part in the journey of this club. Being part of the club from the very beginning and contributing over so many years is something that’s meant a lot to us.” Saying farewell to one of our originals 🔴⚪️⚫️ Leah Galton will depart United after eight proud years, when her contract expires this summer 🤝❤️ Read more: https://t.co/DHhPA5tSoN pic.twitter.com/58Uised8Ne — Manchester United Women (@ManUtdWomen) April 29, 2026 Leah Galton career stats ClubsMatchesGoalsYears active Leeds3892010-2012 Sky Blue FC3052016-2017 Bayern Munich202017-2018 Man United171442018-2026 Source: Wikipedia The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade. Fabrizio Romano sparks United optimism with hugely encouraging transfer update on key target
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali as he continues to be strongly linked with Manchester United. Tonali interest Heading into the summer window, United are expected to prioritise midfield reinforcements. In January, Casemiro confirmed that he will leave the club at the end of the season. Combine this with the mounting uncertainty hanging over Manuel Ugarte’s future and it’s easy to see why United are scrambling for additions in the middle of the park. This need has only been heightened by the Red Devils’ expected return to the Champions League. With no European football to contend with this season, United’s reduced workload has somewhat papered over their lack of quality depth in midfield. This is highly unlikely to be the case again next season. Tonali has been mentioned to be a top target for United but he is not the only player on the club’s wishlist. Other targets include Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest), Carlos Baleba (Brighton & Hove Albion) and Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace). Tonali is said to be open to leaving Newcastle as he looks to take the next step in his career. His agent has consistently stoked transfer speculation through public comments. Juventus are looking to lure Tonali back to Italy, and a report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that it would be his preferred transfer destination. However, Romano has set the record straight, rubbishing such speculation. Romano gives Tonali update Romano wrote on X, “Sandro Tonali, not planning to return to Italy this summer despite reports as he’s ready to stay in Premier League.” “Tonali is on top PL clubs shortlist and he’s keen on staying in England at the highest level.” “Movements soon about his future.” 🚨 Sandro Tonali, not planning to return to Italy this summer despite reports as he’s ready to stay in Premier League. Mainoo’s Career Stats Appearances Goals Assists Man Utd 98 7 5 Man Utd U21 24 2 4 Man Utd U18 35 4 2 In this epoch, it’s difficult to imagine a player spending his entire career at one club. But if there’s one Man Utd we can bet on to stick around for potentially another decade, it has to be Kobbie Mainoo.
