PL rivals “offered the chance” to sign struggling €20m United winger with no league starts under Amorim – report

PL rivals “offered the chance” to sign struggling €20m United winger with no league starts under Amorim – report

Manchester United are looking at moving players on in January to raise money for incomings with the club currently languishing in 14th position in the Premier League table.

Ruben Amorim is desperate for attacking reinforcements with United failing to score in their last three league games and have scored fewer goals than Leicester City, who are 19th in the table and favourites to go down.

Rasmus Hojlund still does not look ready to lead the line for the Red Devils while Marcus Rashford has declared his intention to leave his boyhood club.

However, it will not be easy to find the Mancunian a new permanent home in January owing to his price tag and humongous wages. Joshua Zirkzee is another forward who has been linked with an exit but the Dutchman wants to stay and fight for his place.

    Antony could leave in January

In case, the duo cannot be moved on in the winter, United have earmarked Antony as someone who can be let go with Amorim only handing him two starts since his arrival, with only one of them coming in his favoured right wing role.

No league starts have arrived under the Portuguese and as recently relayed by The Peoples Person, there is loan interest from Real Betis but the 20-time English league champions would prefer a permanent solution.

Hence, as revealed by CaughtOffside, the club have been offering the Brazilian’s services all across Europe and even in England.

Antony’s former club have been offered the chance to sign the Brazilian while Newcastle also receive a surprise mention. Juventus and Benfica are also among the clubs offered the chance to sign the 24-year-old.

Both Ajax and Juventus are only thinking about a loan deal at the moment and therefore, Real Betis might offer United’s best chance at earning a decent fee from his sale.

“Sources indicate that Real Betis are interested in signing Antony on loan in January with an option to buy and have offered Man United a proposal that would cover a small part of his €12m-a-year salary.

    Antony offered to Newcastle

“Antony is believed to like the idea of playing in Spain but wants to understand all his options before deciding on his future.

“Ajax, Juventus, Benfica and Newcastle United have all been offered the chance to sign Antony ahead of the January window, with Ajax and Juventus said to be open to a loan deal; however, none of the duo have made an official offer for the Brazilian star.”

The Erik ten Hag recruit has been a huge disappointment for United and they will surely take a huge hit on their initial £82 million investment.

He does not possess the requisite pace and physical prowess to play in England and in Amorim’s system and INEOS would do well to earn more than his current market value of €20 million.

Wantaway United star “has rejected” three big-money offers to exit Old Trafford this month – report

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has reportedly rejected multiple lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League.

United have put Rashford up for sale, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS keen on making tough decisions that will ultimately benefit the club in the long term.

At the moment, Rashford doesn’t appear to be in Ruben Amorim’s plans and so, an exit is firmly on the cards.

United are in urgent need of funds to support their squad rebuild, with significant player sales necessary before they can initiate a spending spree. As a homegrown talent, Rashford’s sale would be recorded as “pure profit” in the club’s accounts, adding to its attractiveness.

Last month, Rashford granted an interview to Henry Winter, admitting that he is prepared to leave United in search of a fresh adventure.

He has since been linked to a number of transfer destinations including Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, Galatasaray, Atletico Madrid and even the Saudi Pro League.

Now, Samuel Luckhurst of Manchester Evening News reveals that Saudi Pro League outfits have presented offers to the player but he has turned them all down.

According to Luckhurst, “Marcus Rashford has rejected three offers from Saudi Pro League clubs worth up to £35million a year amid uncertainty over his Manchester United future.”

“Rashford has also ruled out a move to any teams in Turkey as he wants to prioritise a career-driven move ahead of the 2026 World Cup in 18 months’ time.”

“Rashford is determined to earn a recall to the England squad under new coach Thomas Tuchel, having last played for the national side in a friendly against Brazil in March last year.”

Luckhurst adds that United are willing to let Rashford leave on loan under the right conditions. The Red Devils would demand a loan fee and require that a majority of his hefty £325,000-a-week wages be covered.

If Rashford departs this month, United will dip into the market for a replacement.

Man Utd players of interest to Van Nistelrooy despite eight-point gap: ‘Looking at my network’

Ruud van Nistelrooy will reportedly use his Manchester United ‘network’ to improve his Leicester City squad, even if the two clubs could be involved in a relegation battle together.

Van Nistelrooy was recently appointed as the head coach of Leicester, having previously managed in his native Netherlands where he was in charge of PSV Eindhoven for one season.

More recently, Van Nistelrooy returned to Man United in the summer to join as part of former boss Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff and as everybody had foreseen, the club’s former striker ended up taking charge on an interim basis once INEOS had enough of Ten Hag.

Van Nistelrooy made a positive impression in the dugout, reportedly sharing a good relationship within the dressing room, while boasting a near-perfect record, winning three games and drawing one.

His time at Leicester had started off well, beating West Ham 3-1 in his opening match in charge, but a draw against Brentford was followed with four successive hammerings, though expected considering the options he has at his disposal.

Thriving in the Premier League following promotion from the Championship is more difficult than ever, with all three promoted clubs currently in the bottom three, while all three promoted clubs last season were relegated.

Van Nistelrooy’s appointment at Leicester had sparked rumours of a number of United players following him, to which the Dutchman has been open to.

United are limited with a sell-to-buy method of business as they tread a fine line in regards to financial fair play and the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

When asked whether he would be interested in using his contacts at United, Van Nistelrooy said: “I’m looking at my network.

“Of course, having played in a couple of countries and more clubs, I’m using my network in opportunities to strengthen the squad and we are looking at all possibilities to help this team reach their targets. So yes, we are looking everywhere.”

Van Nistelrooy’s words could offer a Premier League lifeline to certain United players, such as the likes of Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen who are out of contract at the end of the season.

The duo are well off the pace of taking the Red Devils back to where they want to be, which is far cry at this moment in time, but would certainly be able to play a helping hand to Leicester in their battle for survival. Extensive Premier League experience for the Foxes would also be priceless.

Then again, United may not feel comfortable doing business with a direct rival considering they are just seven points above the relegation zone.

It would make more sense to send youth players such as Dan Gore, Toby Collyer and Harry Amass out on loan, all of whom are knocking on the first team door having been involved to some degree over the last year.

Opportunities for the trio have been few and far between however, with the environment at Old Trafford far from ideal to bring youngsters into the picture.

Gore was sent out on loan to Port Vale last January, making just one appearance. He has been riddled with bad luck over the last six months where injuries have hampered his development.

Gore had played alongside Kobbie Mainoo at youth level and were both neck and neck to cement their place in the first team at one point.

Mainoo has enjoyed a rapid rise within the last year, though unfortunately things couldn’t have worked out any more different for his former midfield partner.

The King Power has been a happy place for youngsters recently with the likes of Facundo Buonanotte and Bilal El Khannouss shining in what has otherwise been a miserable half-season back in the Premier League.

There is no reason why a number of United academy graduates couldn’t follow in their footsteps and learn a thing or two from the likes of Jamie Vardy.

Van Nistelrooy’s first coaching experience came with Jong PSV, the Dutch club’s under 23’s side, making him an ideal fit to understand the importance of youth development, while keeping them level headed.

Sporting Lisbon striker Victor Gyokeres will reportedly push for an exit from his current club in the January transfer window.

The Red Devils have found goals to be a rare commodity this season, scoring just 21 in 19 Premier League matches.

As a result, United have been linked with different attacking options but one link that has refused to go away since Ruben Amorim came on board is with Swedish goal machine, Gyokeres.

The link is a natural one as he had immense success under the current United coach and it has been reported that the English side would be interested in reuniting the two.

It has been suggested recently that Amorim is not prepared to wait until the summer for the attacker and has requested that the board get a deal done this month.

Reports in Spain via FootballTransfers claim that Gyokeres will also do his best to speed up a potential move away from Portugal.

“The Swedish player has made a drastic decision: he does not want to wait any longer for a possible offer from Barcelona and has decided to speed up his future immediately.”

“According to several sources close to the operation, the striker has made the decision not to continue waiting for an offer that seems difficult to materialize in this market. Instead, Gyökeres has opted to take the plunge and speed up his exit from Sporting Lisbon.”

“The decision has been key, as a highly prestigious club such as Manchester United, managed by Rubén Amorim, has stepped forward to close his signing.”

United’s new head coach “is convinced” Gyokeres has the quality and goal scoring ability to help the English team salvage something from what has been a disastrous season so far.

The 26-year-old is seen as an “ideal” fit and there is a belief that his previous relationship with Amorim could be “decisive” for the Red Devils to complete a deal.

Despite Barcelona’s interest in the player, they seem unlikely to pursue a deal due to their own financial problems, which has seen them unable to register summer recruit Dani Olmo. Therefore, “Gyökeres’ future now seems increasingly close to Manchester United.”

Arsenal are interested in Marcus Rashford but a move to North London is highly unlikely due to the club’s extreme demands.

Rashford’s days in Manchester appear numbered. Ruben Amorim dropped the United superstar from his matchday squad in four consecutive games before naming him in his side against Newcastle United.

The Red Devils found themselves trailing by two goals after 20 minutes against the Magpies and still, Rashford failed to get any minutes and remained an unused substitute.

The Portuguese tactician’s decision underlines just how difficult the situation has become for the 27-year-old.

According to Football Transfers, the United hierarchy are “eager to facilitate his exit from the club as soon as possible.” However, it is not going to be easy for the Mancunians to part ways with their academy product this month.

Recently, the Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are interested in the Englishman but are reluctant to make a move due to his lucrative contract at Old Trafford.

            Arsenal want Marcus Rashford

Football Transfers claim Arsenal are willing to sign Rashford in the winter transfer window in a permanent deal but they would only move if their conditions are met.

Firstly, they want Raheem Sterling to return to Chelsea to make space for Rashford.

More importantly, the Gunners have no desire to spend more than €30million (£25m) for the United star, who scored 30 goals across all competitions during the 2022/23 season.

At this point, he would be “nothing more than a squad player” at the Emirates and he would have to accept the role if he wants Mikel Arteta to hand him an escape route out of his boyhood club.

Interestingly, Amorim continues to suggest he wants Rashford to fight for his place and succeed at United.

Considering his wages and stature, Old Trafford still appears to be the best place for him to make headlines at the highest level.

“I have had it on good authority”: Journalist refutes Rashford’s claim, January transfer seems likely

The representatives of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford have held talks with a top agency despite the player’s public denial that such negotiations have not taken place, reports talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.

Rashford’s United future has been the subject of extensive media coverage over the past few weeks.

United are believed to be keen on selling him as the player is not in Ruben Amorim’s long-term plans. Rashford was excluded from four consecutive matchday squads last month, starting with the Manchester City derby, and was an unused substitute in the club’s most recent defeat at the hands of Newcastle.

Rashford has struggled for form over the past season-and-a-half, with the England international scoring just four Premier League goals so far this term.

Indeed, the forward himself admitted that he is ready to leave United in search of a new adventure.

On Wednesday, a report emerged, claiming that Rashford talked to Gareth Bale’s former agency ‘Stellar’ to help him find a new club.

However, Rashford strongly denied this claim. The Carrington academy graduate took to social media, where he posted the headline of the article alongside the caption, “Been a lot of false stories written over past few weeks, but guys this is getting ridiculous. Never met with any agency and don’t have any plans to.”

Despite Rashford’s denial, talkSPORT’s Alex Crook has insisted that the player’s representatives have indeed sat down with Stellar agency.

According to Crook, “I think he has linked up several (agencies) including Stellar to negotiate a move away.”

“He has been represented by his brother, Dwaine Maynard, I think if there is any move, whoever does the deal, Maynard is certainly going to want to be a big part of that.”

“Stellar is one of the biggest agencies in the country. So while Rashford himself may have not spoken to Stellar, I have had it on good authority that people acting on his behalf have had those conversations.”

Crook reveals that Rashford’s preferred transfer destination is Barcelona but the chances of such a transfer happening in January are very slim.

“Rashford would want to join Barcelona over any team. But they can’t register new players.”

“My understanding is that his preferred destination would be Spain and therefore Barcelona, potentially, could be one of the clubs that he would be interested in signing for.”

Crook adds, “I wonder if he partly regrets that now. I’ve been told he isn’t particularly keen on Saudi Arabia. I’m not sure there’d be many Premier League clubs queuing up to take Rashford. I do know Stellar have a close relationship with Tottenham so maybe that could be one to keep an eye on.”

“Spain I think would appeal to him, but we all know about the financial crisis Barcelona is in. It’s a really difficult situation, we’re all concerned. Coming out and doing that interview with Henry Winter, he hasn’t helped Man United in terms of the negotiating position.”

United are back in action on Sunday when they make their way to Anfield to face table leaders Liverpool. Kick-off is at 16:30 GMT.

Man Utd outcast Rashford ‘rejects three huge offers’ as team-mates ‘surprised’ by transfer status

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has turned down ‘three huge offers’ to play in Saudi Arabia, according to reports.

Rashford is surplus to requirements at Man Utd amid concerns over his attitude and application.

The fact that he has failed to perform on the pitch despite earning over £300,000 a week has hardly helped either.

He was left out of Ruben Amorim’s matchday squad for last month’s Manchester derby and did not return until Monday night’s Premier League match at home to Newcastle United.

He was an unused substitute against the Magpies, so his inclusion on the bench was probably a ploy to get him to leave.

Several Premier League clubs have been linked with Rashford in recent weeks and a report from talkSPORT has claimed his ‘dream transfer’ is to La Liga giants FC Barcelona.

Barcelona hardly have the finances to afford Rashford’s wage demands, let alone his reported £50million asking price.

There are clubs in Saudi Arabia with the money at their disposal, though. Unfortunately for them, 27-year-old has no interest in playing in the Middle East.

Man Utd: Rashford rejects ‘three huge offers’ and chance to earn £35m a year

This has been reported by the Daily Mail, where it is claimed Rashford has ‘rejected three huge offers from Saudi Arabia – worth £35m-a-year’ despite being allowed to leave Man Utd.

Unfortunately for clubs in the Saudi Pro League, Rashford ‘will only go to a competitive club and league that would give him a chance of regaining his place in the England squad’.

                The report adds:

It’s understood he has turned down three mega-money offers from the Saudi Pro League that would eclipse his £315,000-a-week deal at United, and has also ruled out any moves to Turkey.

Despite saying last month that he is ‘ready for a new challenge and the next steps’ in his career, Rashford is open to staying at United where he is under contract until June 2028.

Sources say he is waiting for a recall from Amorim and will give 100 per cent to the team, but a 20-year association to his boyhood club could now be drawing to an end.

United will listen to offers for Rashford this month as they try to comply with profit and sustainability rules, and would also consider a loan move if his new club pay a fee and cover the majority of his wages.

But any move would have to suit the player before his brothers and sole representatives, Dwaine Maynard and Dane Rashford, would enter into negotiations.

United’s players are said to be surprised at Rashford’s exclusion given that he is still the club’s joint-top scorer in the Premier League with four goals.

As many as four? Wow. His ostracisation really is a surprise!

The Mancunian publicly revealed his desire to leave his boyhood club, and the revelation was not received kindly by the dressing room and coach Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese dropped him for four matches in a row and even though he was part of the matchday squad for the game against Newcastle, he did not make it off the bench.

The Red Devils are hoping to earn between £50 million to £60 million for their academy graduate while they would also get rid of his humongous £375,000 per week wages (as per capology) in the process.

                    Rashford’s future

United are hoping to agree a permanent deal for the Englishman so that the money can be reinvested into finding the perfect striker for Amorim, who wants the club to sign Viktor Gyokeres as soon as possible.

However, such an expensive deal will be difficult for most of the clubs to afford with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid eyeing only a loan deal, and even then United would need to pay the majority of Rashford’s wages.

Saudi Arabian clubs can certainly afford the England international but he has no desire to leave Europe for the Middle East at this point.

Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce were also monitoring proceedings but it would be difficult for them to pay both the asking price and his wages.

Teamtalk have now revealed that long-term admirers Paris Saint-Germain have once again joined the race and they have company in the form of Borussia Dortmund.

While PSG certainly have the money to afford Rashford, the Bundesliga club could look to repeat their loan trick like the one they used for Jadon Sancho.

“European giants Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain are showing renewed interest in exiled Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, TEAMtalk can reveal.

                    PSG, Dortmund enter race

“PSG remain in the race for him after registering their interest last summer. They see him as a versatile forward option and Dortmund regard him as a quality potential addition to strengthen their squad.

“The German team, who may look to repeat the loan move trick they did with Jadon Sancho in 2024, could take concrete steps to evaluate what is and what isn’t possible with Rashford in regards to a deal. We understand that in the next few days, important developments are expected for Rashford.”

Dortmund would likely offer either a direct loan or a loan with an option to buy for a price which would be far lower than what INEOS would like to earn. The German giants’ record buy was Ousmane Dembele back in 2016 for €35 million.

It will be interesting to see what INEOS decide with regards to the academy graduate’s future. While a permanent solution will be the best option, a loan exit will also be evaluated as it would allow the player to regain his form while also maximising his market value.

Juventus lining up shock ‘last minute’ January move for United defender- report

Juventus are reportedly eyeing Manchester United left back Tyrell Malacia as a potential reinforcement for their squad during the January transfer window.

The Dutchman finds himself on the periphery of United’s plans with injuries limiting his appearances. Despite his talent, competition and fitness concerns have reduced his impact at Old Trafford.

Juventus, currently navigating a transitional phase, are seeking a player with Malacia’s profile to provide cover and competition, particularly for Danilo in their backline.

The Brazilian defender has been a consistent presence for the Bianconeri, but depth in defensive options is a priority as they aim to compete across multiple fronts.

TuttoJuve suggest that Juventus could pursue a loan deal for Malacia until the end of the season.

Such a move would allow the Italian giants to bolster their squad without committing to a permanent transfer.

For United, it could be an opportunity to offload a player temporarily while he regains full fitness and form.

A short-term loan could serve as a low-risk solution for the club as they assess their squad’s longer-term requirements.

Rúben Amorim’s tactical framework places a significant emphasis on the role of full-backs, particularly those with the ability to excel offensively.

In his system, these players are pivotal, providing the primary source of width and contributing to the team’s attacking dynamic. As a result, United could look to strengthen in the January transfer window, targeting both left and right wing-back positions.

These roles are integral to Amorim’s philosophy, serving as some of the most influential positions on the pitch.

While Malacia has displayed flashes of promise, his overall performance has fallen short of the consistency required for such a demanding system.

This may prompt Amorim to explore alternatives, seeking players who can reliably fulfil these critical responsibilities and elevate the team’s performance.
