Amorim names United team to play Arsenal

Ruben Amorim has named his Manchester United team to take on Arsenal in tonight’s Premier League fixture at the Emirates Stadium.

For the third game in a row, the boss makes six changes to his starting XI, from the side that started Sunday’s top-flight victory over Everton.

Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo are both serving one-match suspensions for yellow cards picked up in that encounter, while Amad, Casemiro, Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee have been named among our substitutes in north London.

Andre Onana continues in goal, behind what we expect to be a back three of Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire – the latter returning to start for the first time since picking up a muscle problem away to Aston Villa in early October.

Diogo Dalot was the left-wing-back at the weekend but could play on the other flank tonight, with Tyrell Malacia – last named in our Premier League XI on the final day of the 2022/23 season – getting the nod from the off, six days after making his full comeback from a long-term injury in the win against Bodo/Glimt.

In the middle of the park, Manuel Ugarte comes in and may line up alongside captain Bruno Fernandes should the skipper play in a slightly deeper midfield role, with the reintroduced Alejandro Garnacho and Mason Mount the likely candidates to feature in the central attacking positions behind striker Rasmus Hojlund, who netted twice on his last start, in the aforementioned home triumph.

Summer signing Leny Yoro is included in our matchday squad for the first time since suffering a foot injury against the Gunners in pre-season, as one of nine substitutes, while Academy defender Godwill Kukonki is also rewarded with a maiden place on the senior bench.
