Amad grabs the headlines but this unsung United star was truly brilliant vs. PAOK

Manchester United cruised to a 2-0 victory over Greek side PAOK FC in the Europa League. Here are our player ratings from the game.

(A score of 6 is around average)

Andre Onana 7 – One or two good saves to deny PAOK from finding the back of the net. Some of his long balls to the forward players were exquisite.

Noussair Mazraoui 8 – Keeps on growing from strength to strength in a United shirt. Flawless on the right after an incredible stint on Sunday on the opposite side. Combined well with Amad and was brilliant both in defence and attack. An unsung hero for United as they clnched their first Europa League victory of the season.

Victor Lindelof 6 – OK performance. Quietly went about his job and didn’t make mistakes.

Jonny Evans 6 – Same as Lindelof, mostly comfortable.

Diogo Dalot 4 – He was poor on the left. Didn’t link up well with Garnacho. His speculative header early on led to a PAOK shot at Onana’s goal.

Manuel Ugarte 5 – Better off the ball than in possession. Tried to come and collect the ball from the defence.

Casemiro 6 – Solid display with some good moments in the final third. Seems to be enjoying the increased freedom he has been given by Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Bruno Fernandes 5 – Frustrating corner kicks that repeatedly failed to beat the first man. Didn’t influence the game a lot but registered an assist for the team’s opener.

Amad Diallo 9 – United’s best player during a game where so many others failed to turn up. Pressed well, looked to take his man on and storm into the box. Should have had a penalty after he was brought down by a PAOK defender who didn’t make contact with the ball. Scored a sensational header to put United into the lead and doubled the advantage with a superb curled finish with his left foot.

Alejandro Garnacho 4 – Didn’t improve from his performance against Chelsea last weekend. Looked uncertain of what to do in the final third, which halted some of United’s attacking plays.

Rasmus Hojlund 3 – Wasn’t involved nearly enough. Barely contributed anything except a weak effort on target that took a deflection.

Substitutes

Marcus Rashford 6 – Decent when he came on. Almost scored right at the death but dragged his shot just wide. He’ll be fresh and raring to go against Leicester City this weekend.

Lisandro Martinez 6- Helped get United over the line as he perfectly slotted in at left-back in place of Dalot.

Christian Eriksen 5 – Brought United some more control in the middle of the park.

Mason Mount 5 – Wasn’t on the pitch for very long. Nice to see him back from injury.

Joshua Zirkzee 5 – Same as Mount. Barely got a kick as he only featured in added time.
