Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha has had a memorable first season at Old Trafford. On Instagram, Cunha posted, “On God [the World Cup in] ’22 was so hard and I didn’t even understand it.” He added, “today, I am so accomplished with everything God has given me that I can’t thank you enough for all the moments of learning and growth.” Cunha finished off by stating, “I am going to realise my biggest dream.” The Seleção’s first game is a tough one against Morocco in New Jersey on 13 June, before coming up against Haiti on 20 June. They will then round off their group campaign with a match against Scotland on 24 June. Cunha has played 21 times for the national team since making his debut in 2021. His only goal came against Argentina in World Cup qualifying last year.
