Manchester United produced the goods yet again, this time away at the Emirates Stadium against Premier League leaders Arsenal. Sunday’s thriller saw the Red Devils emerge 3-2 winners despite going down a goal before the half-hour mark. Michael Carrick has certainly galvanised the team, and that showed as under-fire stars produced magic while his attacking substitutions paid off as well. And Diogo Dalot, who has been a regular for a few seasons now, feels the challenge for the team is now keep going and not letting this momentum drop. Momentum is key Speaking to MUTV, the Portuguese ace revealed that the team and the fans deserve to celebrate this moment considering the topsy-turvy season they have had. But after that, the team should focus on matters at hand. For far too long, this team has let momentum fizzle out due to inconsistent displays. “Obviously happy. In this moment, after everything we’ve been through this season, you have to enjoy it. “You could see the way we were celebrating with the fans at the end. Seeing them so happy means the world to me. I’m really happy with the performance and the level we’ve shown over the last couple of weeks. “That’s the biggest challenge: to keep going. It’s been a rollercoaster, emotionally and I’m always trying to give the best for the club. I can guarantee these are the moments that give me a lot of energy. Two areas that have improved “I know we can be that team if we show this level, stick together and give everything, the rewards will come. Sometimes a bit later than we deserve, but I’m happy that today we could materialise what we’ve been working on in the last couple of days. I’m really, really pleased with this moment.” The fullback then explained that under Carrick, everyone is pulling in the same direction, and there is no reason why the 20-time English league champions cannot qualify for next season’s Champions League. Diogo Dalot also revealed his pride at wearing the United jersey and being one of the leaders of the squad, he vowed to keep giving his all till the last whistle. “You can see when everything is tuned in, when everyone has the same energy, we can win it. I always try to pass on that message. “Being here for a long time gives me more responsibility in these moments. For as long as I wear this shirt, I will not hide myself, not play the victim. We just have to come to the pitch and give everything for the club.” Feature image Carl Recine via Getty Images The Peoples Person has been one of the world’s leading Man United news sites for over a decade.
