Fabian Hurzeler has poured praise on Benjamin Sesko ahead of his side’s trip to Old Trafford tomorrow.Manchester United host Brighton and Hove Albion in Sunday’s 4.30pm slot to kick off their FA Cup campaigns – and Hurzeler is wary of the threat the Red Devils’ centre-forward poses. What Hurzeler had to say about Sesko(Photo by Carl Recine/Getty Images)When analysing United’s team in the build-up to the tie, the Brighton boss said in his press conference: “I followed him [when I was coaching in Germany]. I think he can be a big player for United. “He has everything that a good striker needs. He’s physically very strong, fast, scores with his head. He is technical, finds good solutions in tight spaces. I like him as a player.“He didn’t have an easy start but against Burnley he was impressive. So we definitely have to take care of him.”Sesko oversees stellar showing vs Burnley(Photo by Carl Recine/Getty Images)This comes after the Slovenian oversaw his most emphatic performance in a United shirt during the midweek draw at Turf Moor.Sesko contributed United’s only two goals of the game while also becoming the first Premier League player this season to register seven shots on target in a single outing. Only two players have had 7+ shots on target and won 7+ duels in a Premier League game across the last 10 seasons: ◎ Harry Kane vs. West Brom (2017)◉ Benjamin Sesko vs. Burnley (2026) Not bad company to be keeping. 😀 https://t.co/d11KStNxs3 — Squawka (@Squawka) January 7, 2026A more free-flowing attacking display from Darren Fletcher’s men allowed Sesko to thrive in the areas where he’s needed most, as opposed to dropping back and trying to link-up play, as he has resorted to doing on numerous occasions this term.It subsequently culminated with the 22-year-old doubling his goal tally and ending a three-month goal drought, leading to him being named the Man of the Match.(via benjaminsesko on Instagram)United invested an initial £66.3 million to add Sesko to their ranks over the summer, trusting that he had all the attributes in his locker to become a world-class frontman – even if such traits needed refining for him to be successful in the English top flight, where plenty of young stars have come and failed to adapt to the pressure and demands.
