0 successful dribbles, 0 crosses completed, 0 duels won: United loanee crashes back down to Earth in title clash

Manchester United had one player in loan action last night. To find out where all of United’s loanees are playing their football this season, click here. Jadon Sancho The England winger has struggled for regular game time this season for Aston Villa, failing to get many minutes in the Premier League. For this reason, he has no future at Manchester United and it seems he may even leave the Villans in the winter window after failing to impress. He did play a part in his side’s vital win over Chelsea in the league just after Christmas, though. Poor showing versus Arsenal Nonetheless, the winger and his side were truly brought back down to Earth with a 1-4 loss at the Emirates to a rampant Arsenal side. Sancho was given a rare chance to start but was substituted after 61 minutes for Donyell Malen. He did make one key pass in the match, but that was about his only positive contribution. The winger did complete 92% of his passes, but this must be understood in the context that he only made 11 passes in a very quiet showing. The 25-year-old also failed to have any shots on goal or complete any of his dribble attempts, as he struggled to get past the resolute Arsenal defence. The winger was also unable to affect the game from a wide position, as he did not connect with any of his cross attempts. Sancho did make two clearances in the game but was also largely ineffective defensively. He failed to win any tackles and lost all four of his ground duels in the match. Sancho could well next be in action when Aston Villa welcome Nottingham Forest to Villa Park this Saturday lunchtime.
