United fighting with Bayern for signing of South American midfield sensation – report

Manchester United have apparently set their sights on a new midfield prospect after missing out on Mohamed Zongo. Last month, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United are eyeing a swoop for Zongo following his promising performances for Burkina Faso at the recent U17 World Cup. However, BlueCo, which owns Chelsea and Strasbourg, have won the race to sign the midfielder from Sporting Football of the Cascades, as per Fabrizio Romano.  Manchester United interested in Ederson Castillo Now, United have entered the race for Liga de Quito midfielder Ederson Castillo, claims Bolavip. The 17-year-old Ecuadorian is also being tracked by Atletico Madrid, Anderlecht and Bayern Munich. Castillo, who recently won the national under-19 title with Liga de Quito, is regarded as one of the club’s most gifted players. He has also trained with their senior squad multiple times.  United are actively following South American football. They recently struck an agreement to sign 17-year-old Colombian midfielder Cristian Orozco from Fortaleza CEIF. Castillo, who is calm in possession and strong in duels, could be the next in line if United act decisively. Under the new hierarchy, the Premier League giants have put a lot of emphasis on finding up-and-coming talent for the future. Amorim is overlooking Man United academy The Mancunians have a rich history of promoting academy players into the first team. However, Ruben Amorim has shown little faith in the Carrington prospects.  The United head coach is yet to start any academy player in the Premier League this season. Kobbie Mainoo, who is considered one of the best talents to come through their famed academy in many years, is thought to be frustrated with his playing time under the Portuguese. Accordingly, the 20-year-old midfield gem is willing to leave his boyhood club on loan in January.
