“We can exploit that”: Skinner reveals Aston Villa weakness he plans to punish to extend United’s winning streak

Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner has revealed the Aston Villa weakness he and his players will exploit to sink them on Saturday afternoon. United looking to extend unbeaten streak United and Chelsea remain the only unbeaten teams in the WSL this season, and it’s a run the Reds will be keen to extend when they host Villa this weekend. Skinner’s side are in excellent form. They’ve won their last four matches across all competitions and boast the best attack in the league, having scored 19 goals in their opening seven fixtures. Only reigning Champions Chelsea have conceded fewer goals than United. The odds are massively in favour of United beating Villa. United have tested defeat to Villa, registering an impressive 10 victories and three draws against them in all competitions. However, Skinner has insisted that there is no room for complacency. According to the United boss, Villa have the tools to hurt his team but their free-flowing style of attack also means that they are vulnerable defensively – a weakness United can take advantage of. Skinner pinpoints Villa weakness Skinner told reporters about Villa in his press conference [as quoted by SheKicks], “They’re aggressive without the ball. They go player for player and press.” “I‘m expecting a really tough game, but what I’d also say is we’re in great form. We’re in great form and we believe in ourselves and we’ve got to take the challenge of Villa on.” “Villa are scoring freely, but also conceding freely. So hopefully we can exploit that and try and keep a clean sheet this weekend.” “We’re at home. We need our energy. We’ve got a block of games coming up now where we need to start properly. I felt against Brighton we were good with the ball, especially at times, but probably just a bit rusty from international [break], whereas I think we got that out.” He added, “So hopefully we can put that into a good start against Villa.” Skinner divulged that the hardest part about managing at the top level is ensuring every player receives sufficient minutes. “I’ve no doubt the hardest part of football management is trying to keep players happy with minutes and making them feel wanted and loved. It’s really difficult because sometimes I’ve already planned ahead this block of games, as you can imagine, and I’ve planned about strategy, style, who fits where.” “You’ve got this one plan and then you can come to [Aston] Villa and you could have one injury, you could mix the team, you could have anything that happens and all of a sudden your game plans are out the window.” United vs. Villa kicks off at 12:00pm.
