United to hold “formal talks” with CL giants for transfer of 28-yo star, Amorim will be delighted – report

Marcus Rashford’s prolific form at Barcelona is unlikely to have any impact on Manchester United’s plans. United decided to part ways with one of their most popular academy graduates early this year following his fallout with Ruben Amorim.  Rashford had to depart his boyhood club on loan in January before securing a dream move to Barcelona in the summer. The Red Devils, meanwhile, added the likes of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to strengthen their attack. Currently on a season-long loan at Camp Nou, Rashford has scored six goals and assisted seven times in 15 appearances for Barca in all competitions. Still, United want to permanently cut ties with the 28-year-old. Man United to formally discuss Rashford transfer According to TEAMtalk, Barcelona plan to open formal talks with United regarding Rashford’s permanent transfer “in the coming weeks”. United handed their Spanish counterparts an option to buy Rashford for €30 million in 2026. Now, the two clubs are expected to negotiate a deal. It is understood the England international is “relishing life” at his new club, having already established himself as key part of Hansi Flick’s setup. Rashford is reportedly hopeful the La Liga giants will sign him on a permanent basis. Flick, meanwhile, is understood to be delighted with his performance and has urged Barcelona’s board to prioritise a long-term deal. Rashford’s versatility has allowed the German coach to deploy him across the frontline amid an injury crisis.  Barcelona could face intense competition for Rashford’s signature The Blaugrana’s financial predicament and their frequent registration issues may make any potential deal complicated. As such, the club’s president Joan Laporta would need to act decisively to extend Rashford’s stay, as a number of European powerhouses are queuing up for his signature. Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Arsenal, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Inter Milan are all keeping tabs on the United loanee. Arsenal, in particular, are open to intensifying their pursuit should Rashford wish to return to the Premier League.
