Man United striker Marcus Rashford is currently on loan at Barcelona with an option for them to buy him for £30m.
Ruben Amorim forced Rashford out in the summer after his short-term loan spell with Aston Villa last year. Rashford sought to regain some of his best form for Villa, and since making a move to Barcelona, he has continued to impress.
Rashford has made 10 appearances for the La Liga giants since moving to Spain, scoring three goals and providing four assists.
It was agreed when he left that there would be a £25m buy option at Barcelona with £5m in add-ons, and it seems that Barcelona have decided on whether to make his loan move permanent. According to The Sun, the La Liga club is “ecstatic” with Rashford’s performances and attitude, and would like to sign him permanently at the end of the season when his loan deal expires.
That means that United will get £30m from a Rashford sale, but his highest market value at any point in his career sits at around £74m, according to TransferMarkt.
What has Rashford said about his future at Man United
Rashford has enjoyed his time at the Nou Camp so far, he was quoted in Barca Universal saying: “I’m very excited. Many people dream of playing here; it means a lot.
Barça is a club where dreams come true. They win many trophies, and the club’s values mean a lot to me. They’ve made me feel at home in these first few hours; everyone has made me feel very comfortable.”
It bodes well for Thomas Tuchel ahead of the World Cup in the summer, as if he can have a Rashford on top form, then the England manager will be delighted.
